I intended to re-read all 4 books before the release of W&T, but work is too crazy so I did not get a chance. Thank you so much for providing this high quality recap, what a life saver.
All of this artwork is STUNNING! this recap was amazing. I binged all 4 books during my maternity leave with my second baby and won’t have time to reread before book 5 comes out. This was greatly appreciated 🥰
58:44 - 59:10 --> Ah the scene that had me, mortifyingly, sobbing in the goddamn bus. Just full on shaking shoulders sobs that I was desperately trying to hide by putting my face in my arms. Mortifying.
Can’t believe I searched Stormlight Archive recap just now and it pops up that you made a specific video about it 4 days ago. Wild how that works. One of my favorite channels too keep it up.
@Bookborn If you had done it by just recapping the biggest plot points but in more detail, a few folks might come away thinking they 'knew enough to get by.' This way, though, only people who have some memory of the books are going to be able to follow what's going on. And they get reminded of far more events, too! I'm looking forward to the 135 minute version before book 10. ;)
1:24:50 I was totally waiting for that type of reaction. The striped tabby was just keeping an eye the black cat and flipping his tail occasionally. A sure sign that something going to go down between those two.
Gave a like and am bookmarking this to watch piece by piece as I am doing a Stormlight re-read, so will watch each piece as I complete the book (almost done with Way of Kings).
Love this! I'm currently reading Oathbringer for the first time and then Rythm of War in time for Wind and Truth, but I will still watch this video before the premiere 😊
Starting Way of Kings next in my journey through the Cosmere, but look forward to coming back and watching this eventually before I start Wind and Truth
This is amazing! I have just circled back and done Dawnshard and Edgedancer... so I am refamiliarizing myself as well. Adapting from Mistborn to Stormlight is intriguing :-)
Wonderful recap, I feel a lot more confident going into the fifth book now, Thank you so much! I debated saying anything, but clearly you never listened to the audiobooks, because the names are drastically different from how you pronounce them. 😂 many others have pointed it out tho 😅
Great video! I find it fun that almost every name you mentioned is pronounced differently to how the audiobook says it. Not saying thats badz just interesting how we can interpret them differently.
I decided to give my re read an honest effort and I'm almost halfway through Words of Radiance😂. Pretty good, though, seeing as how I decided only a few weeks ago! I watched the Way of Kings section and sponsor, but I'm going to read as much as I can, and then come back to this later if I can't get through them all in time. VERY impressive that you did this!!
Oh nice, I appreciate the work. Also I like your name pronunciations, I'm wondering how I would have said alot of them without the benefit of having listened to the audiobook 😅
After finishing RoW, I learned some of the "official" name pronunciations, and was surprised. So thank you for saying it how my brain has this whole time, lol. I am glad I'm not alone!
ohhhhh i sooooo wanna watch this but I didnt finish the last book yet (purposefully) I usually read the last 30% or so right before starting the new one when it comes out. Im where Kaladin is hiding in the walls of the great tower of Urithiru. Can someone give me a time stamp i can watch up to without major spoilers?
Spoilers for mistborn book 3: I can't see a full redemption for Moash, but I could definitely see a moment of clarity/last moment of heroism fighting against the force that controls him, similar to Marsh's one action against Ruin in his fight against Vin at the end of Mistborn
Just finished Rhythm of War and im going to need this before book 5. I may have read the whole series in a year but theres definitely some stuff i missed. 😂
Bookborn you’re one of my favorite channels and I have no problem with you saying names different from me. But one this Music Teacher couldn’t not comment on was Timbre, which is pronounced Tam-ber, a real world word to describe the quality of a sound. It’s commonly mispronounced in English, so no worries 😊
I like that you also say AH-dolin. I never understood AY-dolin, because every other Alethi name in the Stormlight Archive the A sound is pronounced AH (not AY) - Kah-lah-din, Jah-snah, Shah-lahn, Dah-lin-nahr, etc. So even just using basic phonetics within naming conventions, it makes much more sense that his name is AH-dolin. but c'est la vie hah
That's the way i always said it. But i recently watched Sanderson talking at a convention and he was talking of A(y)dolin and i got confused and lost before i realized who he was talking about... I'll probly continue with A(h)dolin by instinct though
Neither Kaladin nor Dalinar has an “ah” sound for the first syllable lol. I mean I’ve never heard them pronounced that way! It’s an in-between short A and long A sound, idk what it’s called. Like Kal like in “calorie”
@@6ixpoint5ive okay, I’ve never seen anyone use “ah” for that sound. Ah is ah… like in “father”. You know? Dammit I’m too lazy to go down the linguistic/phonetic rabbit hole right now 😂 Will also just say I’d write Shallan as “shuh-LAHN” as that’s how most people say it (rather than your “shah-lahn”
"I pronounce it Jazz-nah and A-doll-in"
Sure, i can understand.
"Shin-over"

Lewshi.
Haha that was a jumpscare for sure

Tbh keeping every 1200 page book to under 15 minutes is a very quick recap considering the audio book of them are 30+ hours 🤣🤣

90 min IS quick compared to multiple 50+ hour audiobooks. :-D but you're right, this "quick" recap is awesome. 👍
I hadn't realized how much I've forgotten from this massive series. Not gonna lie, the 62 hour listening time is a bit daunting.
You are a hero for doing this! Most books start to fade from my memory within a year.

Oh clever! If you've read the books, this is a great reminder. If you haven't, it's far too fast to follow, so no worries about hurting book sales.
I don’t think anyone thought these were good replacements for the book 🤣 it’s written to jog a memory, not replace books!
