I’m only 20 minutes in, and have never seen a speed run of this game before, so you’d imagine my confusion seeing “release the dude” and “release the bogus”
In the context of the game's world: An underage boxer from Bronx, New York, USA steps into the ring, tears up the 3 leagues full of fighters many times his size and height TWICE, including Philadelphia's finest, the giant of a man named Mr Sandman, surrenders the belt, and just leaves and is forever remembered as Little Mac, Terror of All Boxers. When his name is spoken, all boxers in a 1.5 mile radius flee in terror. Sandman's very blood even boils if he hears "Little Mac" ever since the day he lost that rematch. From the context of our world: FbFA does a TAS of Punch-Out Wii and uploads it to TH-cam. The contrast a little perspective offers, eh?
I find it funny that some of the speedrun strats is to get your ass kicked so it's like: Doc: Mac why were getting knocked down even though you were fighting everyone else just fine Mac in a hospital bed: it was for the tech don't worry about it
Wii U still has it digitally for $20, if you don’t like spending money but somehow have a computer with decent specs, download a rom and dolphin and play it that way for free Granted if you have a controller laying around
I was about to say "What happened during the Contender Soda Popinski and Bald Bull" but then i readed the strategies explanation and i was like "Oh, that makes sence, so still, Soda Popinski's still a Bitch to fight" tho i think it might be worse in the PAL version when it comes to the Title Defense because, The Cutting Room Floor page said this: In the NTSC (North American) version, title defense Soda Popinski can be knocked out after the player knocks him down six times. This, however, cannot be done in the PAL (European) version of the game for some reason, and the player has to TKO him or eek out a victory by decision. This makes the fight a lot harder!
I have a PAL console, so at one point, I might see if that is true. Normally, Soda Pop in his pre-round animation will pick up two bottles and drink from them at the same time, but the Punch Out wiki states that damaging him enough makes it so that he will instead pick up both crates and drink from the bottles in them, so I might test that too.
2 ปีที่แล้ว
@@jacobyoshi3161 Huh.. didin't knew about the pre-round animation with the crates, guess that i might have to pick up Punch Out Wii again, it was a very long time ago since i did not played it again. As for what i mentioned from TCRF, i did not saw that myself, it just said that, so that's another thing i'll also have to see.
Soda Popinski and Von Kaiser would go down in history as the ones who managed to knock down the monster known as Little Mac, before Mac clearly gave up on boxing. Dedicated Von Kaiser fans insist that his win against Mac was totally legitimate, and that it was what convinced Mac to give up, rather than him deciding beforehand. Fans of Don Flamenco and Mr. Sandman likewise agree that their boxers displayed a superior will to Little Mac, who to them was too shaken by loss to make a comeback, unlike their favorites who maintained determination and eventually won out in the end for it. In response to these victories, the rankings were redone with Mr. Sandman reclaiming his spot at the top, on account of an actual win and the battle that ended Mac’s career, as well as his previous placement as #1 prior to Little Mac taking the spot. He was followed by Von Kaiser, and then Don Flamenco and Soda Popinski. Soda fans maintain their favorite was cheated, that Little Mac clearly threw his third fight with Don Flamenco, but Don Flamenco’s fans point out they don’t know for sure, and a win is a win, unlike Soda Popinski. When asked on his opinion on the debate, Soda declined to answer. In the end, his ranking remained unchanged from prior to Little Mac’s reign of terror, despite his effort and stardom as the first one who stood a fighting chance against Mac, adding to his fans’ chagrin. Nonetheless, the match in which Little Mac was revealed to not be invincible remains memorable to this day, despite Soda’s eventual loss. As they say, if you can make God bleed... That said, the lack of an actual win, as well as Soda’s disappointing follow-up match, remain additional sore spots, and lead others to claim Soda merely got ‘lucky’. Two knockouts suggest otherwise for some, and others wonder if Mac intentionally allowed his knockouts from Soda and Von Kaiser simply to play around, before throwing his final matches.
I checked the pastebin on the strategies for these fights. The explanation for the restart on CD Soda, TD Kaiser, and both CD & TD Bull was in order to get rid of the "Power On glitch". I looked everywhere, but I cannot find what this glitch is and what it does. Can someone enlighten me on what that is?
Those fights have their first move come out 1 frame later than normal if it is the first time they are fought after loading the game. Restarting removes this feature. And also, all of the fighters affected by this feature are also affected by when the intro is skipped.
I Didn’t Restart For TD Kaiser But I Did Restart For TD Great Tiger And I Knew Great Tiger’s Instant Knock Out Trick But I Did It But I’m Stuck On TD Soda Popinski
Punch out wii seems like a really good and interesting game to speedrun, no luck based stuff outside last stand, and it really tests your skill at the game with frame perfect inputs, and complex patterns/pattern manipulation all over the place. Imagine a flyweight 17 year old boxer taking down boxers, and TKOing them far faster than Mr. Sandman ever could, all because little mac has absurd reaction time, and knows how to properly exploit the weaknesses an opponent has to instantly down them.
Can you imagine being the of the audience members, buying your ticket and being super excited to see a boxing match. Then the opponent gets destroyed in like 20 seconds.

Props to those who Sponsorblocked in between fights. You the real mvp
I’d love to see the newspaper headline that day.
“Average 17 Year Old Becomes Worldwide Boxing Champion in Record Time Then Immediately Retires!”
This is just footage of Zallard on a really good day.
Trueing
Nah on a bad day, usually he's even better
I’m only 20 minutes in, and have never seen a speed run of this game before, so you’d imagine my confusion seeing “release the dude” and “release the bogus”
when your robot is so good at a game 2/3 of the game isn't gameplay and is just cutscenes
In the context of the game's world:
An underage boxer from Bronx, New York, USA steps into the ring, tears up the 3 leagues full of fighters many times his size and height TWICE, including Philadelphia's finest, the giant of a man named Mr Sandman, surrenders the belt, and just leaves and is forever remembered as Little Mac, Terror of All Boxers. When his name is spoken, all boxers in a 1.5 mile radius flee in terror. Sandman's very blood even boils if he hears "Little Mac" ever since the day he lost that rematch.
From the context of our world:
FbFA does a TAS of Punch-Out Wii and uploads it to TH-cam.
The contrast a little perspective offers, eh?
55:13 bro hit him in the cutscene😭
I find it funny that some of the speedrun strats is to get your ass kicked so it's like:
Doc: Mac why were getting knocked down even though you were fighting everyone else just fine
Mac in a hospital bed: it was for the tech don't worry about it
I’m so glad that dr louis att the end was so proud of little mac
Docs just sittin in the back like: ...mac, what the fuck?
55:13 bruh the disrespect 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
After that punch mr Sandman: you dead boy
ngl, you can't deny that Glass Joe has undying determination.
52:38 HE SAID THE THING!
52:38 The Subtitles nailed it

King Hippo screams in horror, knowing its fate.
The cutoff fucking sent me
XD so true
Nice man! The legends back!
The ending is so sad, and after you retire, is that the end of the game forever
When I saw Contender von Kaiser fight my mind immediately went to quoting Zallard1 when he said “sub 20”
1:00:41
Doc Louis:Good job son good job
That was so mean of you, letting Soda think he could win.
Very entertaining TAS!
I'm wondering if people noticed but....he didn't defeat Donkey Kong. *yes yes, I know but still, he counts as a fighter too*
if you can beat the game without fighting him, we're gonna lmao, it's faster.
@@Awosomeandy just saying lol
17:46 why this animation so smooth and epic
You didn’t watch Macho’s cutscene. Please delete this and fix the run.
But he released the bogus
was still in the stupid tas videos mindset where I wanted to save as much real time as possible, sorry
Bogus!
I think it’s to stop people from stealing the run
Or your probably just allowed to skip cutscenes
34:50
Just your everyday King Hippo taking a peek at the camera.
Glass joe lasted 15 seconds… that’s including the air time from the star punch😂😂😂
New record for him.
14:25 bro jump scared Mac
RELEASE THE!!! DUDE?!?
and everyone’s favorite
RELEASE THE!!! BOGUS!!!!!
Dude I want this game so badly
Wii U still has it digitally for $20, if you don’t like spending money but somehow have a computer with decent specs, download a rom and dolphin and play it that way for free
Granted if you have a controller laying around
Keep looking! I found it for $30 at my local game store and its great fun.
Pirate it, it's not hard
So happy that Von Kaiser came out on top in the end.
To this day idk why Great Tiger has superpowers
I was about to say "What happened during the Contender Soda Popinski and Bald Bull" but then i readed the strategies explanation and i was like "Oh, that makes sence, so still, Soda Popinski's still a Bitch to fight" tho i think it might be worse in the PAL version when it comes to the Title Defense because, The Cutting Room Floor page said this:
In the NTSC (North American) version, title defense Soda Popinski can be knocked out after the player knocks him down six times.
In the game soda popinski is 6'6"tall witch means he's the tallest boxer in the wii punch out game
Huh, i would've thought it'd be sandman
Piston Honda after being defeated in 34 seconds despite his intensive training : Years of academy, wasted !
I love how the highlight is set to "Release the Bogus!"
52:38 bogus release time
dude got the wr like dude your beating each fight including td as fast as i can blink
@@jacobyoshi3161 wouldnt that waste time? A restart is slower than a frame
It is going for in game time rather than real time.
I Didn’t Restart For TD Kaiser
But I Did Restart For TD Great Tiger
And I Knew Great Tiger’s Instant Knock Out Trick But I Did It
But I’m Stuck On TD Soda Popinski
I Finally Beaten TD Popinski
I’m Now Stuck On TD Bald Bull
Punch out wii seems like a really good and interesting game to speedrun, no luck based stuff outside last stand, and it really tests your skill at the game with frame perfect inputs, and complex patterns/pattern manipulation all over the place. Imagine a flyweight 17 year old boxer taking down boxers, and TKOing them far faster than Mr. Sandman ever could, all because little mac has absurd reaction time, and knows how to properly exploit the weaknesses an opponent has to instantly down them.
Well done !!!
CARMEN MI AMOR.....AYYYYYY!!!!!!
awesome run sir.

True
My best time for contender mode is 29 minutes and 41 seconds. I'm not that great as title defense, but I'm getting there.
