Sure, it’s their culture & belief (and some may argue a difference in morality from different time periods), but it doesn’t make it any less wrong. They’re still purposely harming someone. And feeling pain & fear is not limited to certain points of time, culture, etc. Why not do the logical, healthy actions we have knowledge of? Rather than of harming our bodies and health by starving ourselves.
