    You can also get some scrap of the “roofing” material and attach it to a stick. Then just push the poop down in a few seconds. You’d still want to do as you do but maybe not as often. Great setup

    I am struggling about cleaning bunny poop time consuming about an hour everyday. I use the tarp just like the others. I found your video just now, Thank you so much for the great idea. I use the back scratcher try to reach and clean poop under the big cage. I have to try to make a plan for the new cleaning system with my family. Great appreciation. Thank you, Sir.

    If you used a tight tarp in place of the tin (with a steeper angle) would you be able to "bounce" the tarp from the underside to knock the poop down without the need of getting the poop soaked? Or does it stick? If it isn't sticky, you could dump the urine, then collect the drier poop with a brush in the gutter. Or somehow make the gutter easy to remove so you could just tip it into the bucket? Interesting system! I don't have rabbits- yet. Still looking for a low maintenance design like this. Love the water system!

      It works great until winter time. Then it froze solid. Usually we have enough warm days between the cold snaps that it won't freeze but not this year. I had to remove them because they were solid ice/poo

    So many ways to house rabbits. Your setup looks really good and you have lots of space for the big rack system. Will be interesting to see how it works over the next few years. We tried to figure out how to house our herd inside but ended up going with outdoor hutches for space reasons.

    I wonder what would happen if you used a smooth surface under the cages and attached a windshield wiper system. They are 12v and could run off a battery. Set them on a timer to automatically spray and wash every few hours. Thoughts?

    I love your idea! Could you do a double bucket system? Bucket no holes on bottom to catch urine, stacked bucket on top with holes to catch poop and let urine run into bottom bucket? I guess that would be two buckets to handle and not as efficient as handling just one.

  • @JamieDLGD78
    @JamieDLGD78 ปีที่แล้ว

    So you are raising them, correct? I ask because I assume that’s dif from having one as a pet. Your cages are empty other than food and water. Mine is opposite. Should I not put other stuff in the cage or am I rite when I said I assume it’s dif because yours are temp (not sure that’s the correct way to say it) ? lol I have shavings, some of the fluffy paper they make for rabbits, a salt lick thingy, water, pellets & fresh vegetables daily. I also have created a little room where she can hide & hay of course.

    • @OwlCreekHomestead
      @OwlCreekHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว
