How tall are the 2x4s?
Hi I know this is an old video but do you have the dimensions of the cages you built and rough estimate of the measurements for this build?
Awesome design. Thanks for sharing it.
Put a water heater inside the bucket.
I made 3 banks mostly like the method you are using. Instead of making 4 cages I made my first piece 120 inches to my first bend to 30 inches, then next bend .then another 120 inches and finished up with the last bend of 30 inches . Only used J-clips on one corner. Then I cut the top and bottoms . Did only the bottom then added the 3 inner pieces .Lastly put the top on last .If you want to run any watering Pipes thru the whole length like I did it best to do all the inside work before attaching the top. I got an old out side garage with concrete floor. Hung the whole bank along one wall and put a piece of pressure treated 5/4 deck board for a back splash. Makes it real easy to scoop up the poop with my snow shovel. I used a spool of my electric fencing wire to hang them with. Anyways great video Guy. Thumbs up!
Do you need a support bar if you’re only making a 24” or 30” cage for a single rabbit? I raise Dutch and holland lops (about 5lbs per rabbit max) and I’m looking for a cheaper alternative to ordering cages online. Gonna try my hand at making my own! Just worried about the bottom of the cage bowing out, especially since I’ll be hanging them.
I wouldn't think so for smaller rabbits, but i definitely recommend good quality wire.
Welcome back 🎉 . The buck you have is not the father? That's good cuz you can keep a few does back. Nice to see you guys again. They look like Rex? I love the idea of the wagon to catch the poop. He sure has grown a little.
Why do people handle the crap outa them. Leave them alone and let the doe do her job.
She's doing her job just fine. We handle the momma too. Never bothers her.
Congratulations! Bunnies are too darn cute❤ Always a delight to see the younger generations involved in raising animals - well done! Please remember, that mama may need more food than “her usual amount” while she’s nursing. Yeah, I need to get my 2 does bred for the cooler season here in NC. Thanks for the inspiration! 👍🏻🐇🐇🐇
I’m liking that corrugated poop tray into gutter system. I need to design/build one myself. I’d try to push poop with a squeegee tho….that bucket would be too heavy for me.🤷🏻♀ Thanks for the inspiration!
So obnoxious i have to pay a vet to come out to tell me what i already know merica
Please show how much Auction Commission you pay !? You didn't get 4.40/lb after that, plus about $270 diesel for towing them in . . . My calculator shows you made about $190 per goat, all said and done, not counting feed / Rx / minerals / tools etc. Is that about right? Thanks
any good tips on getting that other driving head off the machine after use? Book says to pull and wiggle but dang thats not working out lol
Just bought one. Thanks for the video!
How do you think it would preform in compact rocky ground?
Great project. I have one question. How did you connect the pump to the blue hose? Does the pump outlet size matches the blue hose? Thank you.
Maybe some gutter gards so poop don't fill up.
Hi I have a goat who just lost her baby to a dog that came in over night and dug a hole into the goat pen, the mother is stressed out trying to find baby and im worried about mastitis forming,? any advice would be great. and also i have another baby who has big glands on each side of throat with a line going from both across her throat, she is feeding ok but i also worried about her, any advice?
Telling Thai people rabbit meat is very healthy is like suggesting we eat kittens... it's an uphill cultural battle I fear I cannot win. But rabbit droppings and rabbit urine can still be put to good use here. And rabbits are very popular pets here. Can you think of a good "cute pet" rabbit breed for the tropical heat? New Zealands is all I can think of.
Excellent video. Definitely splurge for the Klubertanz “dipped-after-weld” wire. Terrific stuff! Have made numerous rabbit cages with the wire, and almost a decade ago, built a 20 foot long enclosed “aviary” (with 2” square steel supports). For rabbit cages, would recommend adding the metal strips for edges on the doors if you access the cages often. Saves your arms. You can also add a little “zig-zag metal strip” that attaches to the top of the cage, holding door open if door swings “inside & up” ( I build doors with side hinges though).
How did this end up working for the season, did you successfully get the system through winter without freezing? What was the lowest outside temp you saw? I am planning for a water system in Alaska and love your system!
You have just given me the confidence I need.

Big QUESTION! how does it support the weights of rabbits?
Does fine never had a problem with that.
How come their tongue/mouth doesn’t freeze to the metal watering nipple?
Nice info 👍
Thank you
Your nipples are mounted sideways. Never seen it done that way. Doesn't it leak more during drinking versus mounting the nipple with the curved part at the bottom?
Have the gutters turned out to work pretty well as designed? Have you run into any practical issues with them not discarding waste properly?
Rabbits don’t have padded feet letting them on wires all day is so bad for their feet and will give them blisters!!! Don’t do this
Perfect, l enjoy the training and lam playing to do it. But can you also show how one do J feeder.
Why are you setting the posts before driving them in? I'm pretty sure you're supposed to set the driver on the top of the post when the post is at something like a 45 degree angle from the ground and then stand it up so you don't have to keep free lifting the driver up over your head.
Excellent video, very well explained. Thanks
Why do you find that so amazing?
Love it
Great video thanks for sharing 👍
I never heard of red backs but they are beautiful
Good cage nice wark
Respect and love your mom and take care
I’d buy one!
What pump did you use for your system?
Hi, how do you know which grade your goat will be ahead of time? Is it certain breeds or all about the weight limit?
Breed, weight and condition all play a factor. I'd call whoever you plan to sell to and ask what their criteria is.
Thank you so much for this practical and informative video. I have basically the exact same situation going on with one goat who has the four teats it developed suddenly and quickly and this is the first time it’s happened although this is her second time kidding. I am going to try all these things that you have done. Thank you.
your design is awesome
Terrific vid. Thanks for sharing!!!!!
How do you keep rats out of the cages ?
That was the best video, very straight forward and informative. Thank you
What breed r u breeding them to
3 years later.. I'd like to know how much poop is sticking in that gutter.. heh heh heh.. great idea, but I'm skeptical of the effectiveness of this method. my family raised rabbits when I was growing up, we had some metal roofing under the cages to redirect the poop into a pile, it didn't work the poop just caked up on it.
Is that Tea Tree oil?
