Tyrion is not supposed to be as good as they portrayed him to be in the show. But most people appreciate since they liked Peter’s portrayal so much.
He was not. They took a lot of the basic elements of Tyrion, but really missed the point of his character and made some changes that had large implications. In the books he was on a path towards hatred, and revenge. His relationship with Shea in the books was not real love, and what happened to him with his first wife was far more sinister and tragic. When Jaime lets him free after the trial by combat, Jaime tells him what actually happened with Tyrion’s first wife and it leads Tyrion to hating Jaime and completely severing their relationship, whereas in the show they cut that completely and ruined how tragic of a moment that was for the two brothers, as well as Tyrion’s character trajectory. Tyrion was enjoyable in the show, but they royally fucked up his entire arc and journey, this leaving him with nowhere to go, hence Tyrion being naught but a wisecracking idiot in the following seasons.
You were horrible misinformed lmao did you see peter dinklage doing flips and acrobatics? In the earlier books tyrion was more whimsical and Grrm even said he regrets making tyrion do things like random backflips because it was too silly
Seems to have a lot of unresolved anger from growing up plus whatever bs he's had to deal with coming up through the acting thing. I mean, I get it to a point but this guy gets a one in a million role...that's tailored made for a "little person" that's not a cheap gimmick. He hits it out of the park, but rather than use his success to promote more roles for fellow little people, he becomes the master thespian with a bug up his ass.
Roughed it Haha 😂 the Lord of the rings cast had to camp in the new Zealand wilderness 😁 you didn't rough it Peter. Now saying dwarf actors can't play dwarves in movies is ridiculous since it's what got him where he is. So much entitlement.
Black people playing slaves makes sense but little people playing dwarves is just hateful, ey Peter, better they never get a chance to work in Hollywood until the GOT reboot comes out in 15 yrs and they need 1 for the role of Tyrian, thanks buddy, for locking the door behind you. Your Hollyweirdization is complete.
no you missed the joke he’s saying the only genre where a little people seem to exist is fantasy - likewise the only genre where Black people seem to exist is slaves/historical
I like get it from the point of say movie where he is lead The Station Agent, it could be essentially anybody in the lead role. It just does not really go like that otherwise than thru source-material or like in that case an indie movie that makes a choice. Then if getting big which is super lucky, maybe something like the X-Men villain, but his career is Very stars aligned stuff. It's really tough pitch for studio if to take some unknown dude who is in his shoes or someone tall. They will go with tall most likely. Especially if there is anything negative said to the character so they want to be as covered from hate as can. Like I get his annoyance with the not getting normal human roles like that, but those can be a great stepping stool to get a better role after having shown that someone is an incredible actor. It is way more realistic to get that path in that what he succeeded to get in. Especially today. In his time there still was indie movies and HBO still did out of the box decisions that ended up as legendary series'es. Neither really excist anymore so what would be the route now.. especially when you cannot even do a Snow White..
Peter Dinklage is one of the best actors ever and I've only seen him in a couple of things. I didn't watch Game of Thrones for a long time cause I thought it was overhyped; boy was I wrong! I also loved "Rememory" an underrated film.
I guess only Peter Dinklage is allowed to get little people rolls. Nobody else is ever allowed to get a little people roll especially in the snow White with seven little people characters. No we’re not allowed to have little people in that role. No make them CGI because Peter Dinklage said we can’t have little people in Hollywood films!!!!!!
Well, Peter talking about being Pigeon holed…everyone gets pigeonholed. Is he going to be employed as a shelf stacker? No. Forklift driver? No. HGV driver? No. His roles are limited because trying to fit dwarves into society is in itself incredibly expensive. You thin’ about the lis5 of things that would have to change, then the cost..,there are limits and there isn’t an endless supply of money for it.
He hated on the dwarves in the new Snow White . Little Pete is the prime example of someone who pulls up the ladder behind him … albeit , a very small ladder .
Im at Chik fil et when GOT was first running. Saw a church youth group. A teen male dwarf was the Alpha for his group. Dont know if this would have happened absent Peter D and this role.
What made him Tyrion wasn't his height. (He's actually taller than the book Tyrion, and way better looking). it was his mind. He gets how hard it is to be SMARTER than most of the people around you, and have to almost start dumbing yourself down to fit in. I hope he finds more roles like this. Not necessarily in the fantasy genre, but roles that use that part of him, the guy who is cynical, but would still like to find something he could believe in, work for--a cause worth sacrificing for. Though there is this crime novel I read with a little sociopathic armed robber in it, and damn--they already made a movie of that. Obviously the short guy didn't make it into the script at all, and the script mainly sucked, and the great cast was largely wasted, and that's Hollywood. People don't appreciate enough how hard everybody on that show worked to make something really different and authentic, and that it could never be just like the books. If it was just like the books, they couldn't have cast Dinklage, because he actually doesn't look like Book Tyrion, and in many respects I prefer Show Tyrion.
I agree, in principle, with Peters point. Dwarfs shouldnt be used exclusively as sideshow attraction or woodland creature BUT like many other dwarf actors have said, those are the only roles available for them. I get Peter wants to normalize it and just be cast in regular roles. Which is admirable and i respect the sentiment. But you movong the hand of the industry away from dwarfs being cast in those typical roles, you are taking jobs away from them. A spade is a spade, after all. A job IS a job.

I don't get his beef. What does he expect ..to get leading roles on a regular ? He doesn't represent what directors require for most roles.
You should just keep your internet mouth shut. Just because you have an opinion, doesn't make it something you should say out loud. 😂
He’s gotten too big for his britches 😉
@@jamesb1733 Not even an opinion, just a fact.
@@johnobrien5037Not sure Dinklage ever really grew up. Well, maybe a little.
Peter Dinklage aka Tyrion Lannister... The man, the myth, the LEGEND!!!
Roughed it Haha 😂 the Lord of the rings cast had to camp in the new Zealand wilderness 😁 you didn't rough it Peter. Now saying dwarf actors can't play dwarves in movies is ridiculous since it's what got him where he is. So much entitlement.
These guys are awful interviewers
Dude is saying all this well thought-out stuff about art and business and then he busts out the "small phone" joke and I just died
But if they dont cast little people as dwarves they will flip out and protest. Representation is a weird conversation.
no you missed the joke
he’s saying the only genre where a little people seem to exist is fantasy - likewise the only genre where Black people seem to exist is slaves/historical
@@maloneaqua right, but no lol

I only saw bits of GOT so i would never profess to be an expert but he nailed his role and owned every scene. Peter Dinklage is so hot too ❤❤
Peter is so bitter at what life gave him. Maybe that's fair. It's just hard to be a fan.
I agree. It makes him difficult for me to like because he comes off quite negative.
'Never forget what you are, the world will not. Wear it like armour and it can never be used to hurt you'
Why aren't you guys giving credit to George RR Martin.
My favorite lollipop kid
I guess only Peter Dinklage is allowed to get little people rolls. Nobody else is ever allowed to get a little people roll especially in the snow White with seven little people characters. No we’re not allowed to have little people in that role. No make them CGI because Peter Dinklage said we can’t have little people in Hollywood films!!!!!!
Little people rolls are very tasty!!! My grandma makes them all the time
He pulled up the stepladder up after him.
Yawn. The man had an opinion, get over it
@@kendallandrews8691 And he was given a counter-opinion that is actually valid.

Peter should be the new wolverine!! Get swole my boy
3:25 aakash brother stop trying too hard. enough with the fake laughs.
Aakash the type of guy who laugh loudly just to show people he understood the joke
@@BasicBrute Prove it's fake
Tbh that's just his laugh.
Dinklage should play Hachii the dog.
I really liked how the character of Tyrion gets more pissed over being called "Dwarf" than most other things (in the books anyway)
His character was way better than the real guy Sheesh
he’s an angry elf
the schulz fake laugh
Is the host expecting a flood?
Peter is so proper I didn't even know he was American.
Show Tyrion was more outspoken and outgoing than book Tyrion.
Peter Dinklage had some good roles prior to GOT. He was well known and they specifically wanted him for that role.
OMG, Santa’s bad elf😅
He hated on the dwarves in the new Snow White . Little Pete is the prime example of someone who pulls up the ladder behind him … albeit , a very small ladder .
It says a lot about Dinklage being such an astounding actor that he was the only American ever cast in the show.
Im at Chik fil et when GOT was first running. Saw a church youth group. A teen male dwarf was the Alpha for his group. Dont know if this would have happened absent Peter D and this role.
King of the dwarves.
Did they ever ask him about how they rushed the last season?
He played a dwarf in Narnia too
😂 Dinklage a funny dude
> doesnt want to be a fantasy dwarf
> grows epic beard
This guys a genius
“Do you think they started expanding your role?” Tell us you never read the book. Hell, tell us you didn’t KNOW there was a book.
He can grow a goatee like no one's business
He played a giant robot in transformers rise of beast and a evil ape in ice age
Interviewing GoT actors that stayed until the end always seems weird. Peter gives off this big vibe that he's not being sincere...
This guy lost alot of pantomime dwarves their job , I bet they are greatfull
Fire Blaster!
Tiptoes
He's an angry elf 😂
