Glad you ask, Why do we have feet + ankle to make the same One foot Vive/tundra travcker can do? Same with upper body. Vive uses 2 hip and chest, slime got hip, waist, lower chest , upper chest and neck (5) So I went ahead and tested a neck to my previous setup Hip, waist and chest. The neck as 4th tracker on upper body made the dot over the i, it gave me that sweet head vs body movement(snake body move) I was missing. B4 neck when moving head shoulders follow. with neck shoulders stand still and only move if shoulders actually move. So in short as a dancer using my body to express myself the neck completes the body. If you have option try it out. After i have gotten used to these 12 trackers, going in with less I feel handicapped haha.. Sorry long reply :D (i tried upper chest also as 13th but didnt do anything and was pain to wear)
@Generic877 Then I would need a "gopro" harness (since straps directly under armpit is not comfy) and tag it as upper chest. I have it activated as lower chest, and with the neck over I get what I realy like, been stuck with this 12 setup now for months.
Ye I know, but I use a neck tracker also, so then that «gap» is filled. And I aint got straps or the gopro setup others use for chest. My placement directly over solar plexus works gresat, as you can see how the tracking is in my videos. So no need to raise chest. (Got hip, waist, chest and neck = same effect as 2 vive trackers hip and chest. )
@@Snitchie Do you have to use non-BNOs on the thighs as well to avoid the stomping bug for shuffle dancing, or is it just the ankles and feet as I've seen suggested in the SlimeVR Discord?
@@GoblinModeVR yo, for full force shuffle I go bmi270 on thighs ankles and feets. But just recently this weekend tested only feet bmi, that did not go well. Can go thigh BNO and do mild running man, but must look in mirror because suddenly if jumping to much and your back is to the mirror and turn around to see a leg all over the place :D Man I wish I could combine em lol ... :Dget the best from both worlds and wear both haha..
What straps do you use by chance? Wanted to get some better straps myself and just ordered a go pro mount (since it was only $2 on ali) but for everything else I wanted something thicker and elastic like yours. Thanks!
I am using Tri Lancer from Amazon. Cable wire managment straps :D . Rubber on inside so no slippery at all. Have mulitple sizes. so depends on ur build. I have two long on chest, two short on thigh and one short on ankle, and so on ^^ (elbow , neck not trilancer, and shoes for feet ;) )
sorry if i'm late to the comments, but how did you get the VRChat "tracking balls" to be over your ankles / feet during calibration? My slimes are the same physical placement as yours, but are always show as floating outside of the avatars legs. did you have to make your model the same height as you? and if so, in VRChat or in Unity?
not necessarily related to the tracking stuff (still making my own slimes), but how do you make the passthrough in virtual desktop to work? It would be helpful to have but I don't have any idea of how to do it
Yo I used bmi160 on all points in start. Then I went full Bno . BUT Bno don’t like running man and stomping. Hence why I have bmi legs that drift some and upper body drift less so it depends on what u gonna do. Hang around go Bno dance like a maniac bmi. 😹 bmi cost 1$ vs Bno aprox 10$ pr imu.
@@Snitchie ok thx i was wanting to buy slime vr for myself, are the extensions good or would it just be better to get all normal trackers and not use the extensions

why the neck?

I needed this so bad, thank you!!!
Your welcome,
AHHHHHHHHHHHH its you xD - love the good times clubbing and dancing with you from time to time!
As always
Yeah, we all are saying things 'bout the calibration itself, but holy, you did absolutely demolish the dancefloor there
Im happy with my calibration and tracking :D and ty ^^ Music is life and life is a DANCE :D
@@Snitchie That was really cool, thanks for the vid!)
Good video! I am building a set myself and this is helpful to see the startup process. Thanks!

For the chest, if you can you should place it as high as possible (between pectoral hight ant the throat hole )

also are u using BMIs? if so pls show how to calibrate them
I am using BMI on lower body yes. My friend calibrated them in a square box. or calibration jig.

Why do you mount your waist tracker to the side? Have you tried mounting your hip tracker in the rear, and if so, did you notice any differences?
Try bending forward with 3 trackers on row. No fun. Hip in rear not comfortable to sit or lay down.

Is it possible to combine lighthouse tracking and slime tracking?
Yes it is. Just disable vive body parts in slimevr

In virtual desktop you go to enviorments, and select pass through, voila. and no worries asking

So u have 12 trackers how many of them are Tracker Extensions or are they all Normal Trackers

I'm confused why the resting in the begining?
Some say BMI imu must get at right temp. Some also say BNO must sit still b4 putting on. And I like the ritual. lol
What about body proportions?
