I'm really liking the Timps. I have about 250 or so miles on rocky PA trails and no blisters or soreness and the tread has plenty of life left.

DC, please pour out the rest of that tainted box of Chaco kool-aid you have hidden in the back of your gear closet. Bedrock, Luna, and Xero shoes all make awesome hiking sandals. Bedrock and Luna both make different sole thicknesses. Xero shoes are super light and do make their sandals without the toe strap. I hike, run, and lounge nearly full time in all these brands. Toe socks or Seal Skin socks work exceptionally well for cold and wet climates. The Xero shoes roll up to practically nothing for a good water crossing or camp shoe. Hey, it's ok to be different than all the others people. Update Old Chaco's work well for door stops and wheels chocks when I change my truck's oil. Carry on please

If the sleeping pad is too noisy there are always earplugs. :) As for expensive patches, have you given duct tape (preferably Guerilla Tape brand) a try?

I found the Altra Timps and Lone Peaks are so comfortable (even without socks for river crossings) that I now leave my sandals at home. Even a midnight pee just put on the Altras if you are camped under trees (so not to get sap on my feet)

Did you end up liking the new sleeping pad? I'm considering the thermarest but I hate the crinkle!

Okay listen to me. Hahaha! The Thermarest in this video, was MORE noisy then the one I gave up! Oh man it was so frustrating. I would stick with a Sea to Summit. Its noisy not not nearly as noisy as the Thermarest.

@@dyanacarmella1379 Oh no, that's what I was afraid of! Right now I have the mega comfortable Sea to Summit comfort plus SI which is quiet, comfortable, and absolutely ridiculous for backpacking. I don't know what to switch to! I don't want to sleep on a bag of potato chips!! (or do I??)

@@stephaniepayne3337 Yeah it's a tough decision. Im personally going to go with the Sea to Summit Comfort Light Insulated Air Sleeping Mat. For me its the most comfortable. It still makes noise when you move around on it, but its not nearly as bad as the Thermarest. Good lord.
