13:54, ive tried before the pear flavour and I love it, the orange were abit too sour for me, would've bought a lot more of the pear flavoured one if there's a Japanese mart near by, sadly there's none. I've purchased it before from both don don donki and was very happy when found it at fish mart sakuraya at anchor point.
Before Donki arived in Singapore, sushi in supermarkets were already of this price range, in the fact cheaper (well the price almost 20 years ago), now they are similar price range. I was working in one of the sushi tenant in a supermarket in orchard. The nakajima one in Meidi-ya is more expensive but with more items... The 3rd box, the green one may be wakame and the red one could be chopped tako.

I am a fan of donki, but before donki came to Singapore, cold storage at takashimaya is very affordable and still will give donki a run in competition.
I was In Tokyo Shibuya station, within the station mall was a standing bar sushi whereby the chefs prepare the sushi from the menu as you eat and point to the variety from the menu, he would cut all the seafoods and make into sushi on your rectangular personal dinning plate..the standard of hygiene and showmanship were splendid. Every sushi cost about ¥200-400 depending on the types of seafood on the rice-cake..My final bill came close to ¥4000 on most of the sushi that I ate…. I’m looking forward to eating there when the border open up…. Please do a video on 🏮 izakaya.

I once tried the fish shape mochi ( sorry I unsure the correct name) was so so so nice. Its was done by a Japanese chef from Japan who came to Meidi-ya in Liang Court. After that I couldn't find it anymore. Never find other fish shape mochi as nice. I missed it so much. 😔 😅

You have missed out the hidden gem of sushi in supermarket. operated under 中島水産 (nakajima suisan), located in coldstorage of Takashimaya, the have the highest quality of sushi in all supermarkets including popular Isetan. The ingredients are fresh, high quality and packed really well in hard casing. The staff uphold very high standard that is frequently inspected by the Japanese supervisor which I have personally seen. Give a try and you will appreciate the difference
You should check out the hidden bar counter sushi joint in Cold Storage Supermarket in Takashimaya! You can pick any sushi from the chiller and have it there.
The donki sushi that you were not able to recognise is Tuna Mayo gunkan. While the Kuriya sushi, the sushi you ate after the salmon is minced tako(reddish coloured)(they call it chuka idako gunkan) and the one after is seaweed(green coloured)(chuka wakame gunkan). The one beside the minced tako is minced scallop(yellowish brown coloured)(chuka hotate gunkan).
i think the prices are still quite expensive for sushi compared to those in japan, for real affordable ones do check out sushi takeout, it’s by sushi express and it’s 50cents per piece and i personally love the salmon dons :)
Ghib,next challenge is to find Halal sushi & make a video of it. I know there are not many halal sushi in singapore,but i wonder if you can make a review of it since many Muslim can't taste the original sushi due to some restrictions. Side note : Jimmy is very respectful even though Sushi is not his favourite food.I also love how he has very colourful mask.

Sakura-ya is a seafood importer in Singapore. Over the years. They start doing restaurant business. And selling some other Japanese cordiments and stuff. Their specialties needless to say is Sashimi. Fresh, and other fishes not commonly found in other places. Eg whole Aji, fresh Hirame and Tai. (Yeah. sometimes u can find Hirame and Tai at other places. But definately not Aji.) Also Sashimi prices are competitive when compare to Don Don Donki, meida-ya and Isetan.
From my observation, I notice those sushi set with high fish content is more expensive, regardless of which supermarket you go. I can see the medi-ya sushi set that your eat has more fish than the rest. So you get what you paid for.

The cold storage in taka is also nakajima suisan, the same as the one in meidi-ya, if they are still there.
