The fact that they used prosthetics is something I happily applaud! Too many times it's CGI only for creatures. But a perfect mix from CGI and practical FX/prosthetics brings an authentic feel that can't be replicated with just CGI.

Barry Gower is the person who has done so much good Prosthetic work. All the great tv shows we love he has probably worked on them. Game of thrones to now. Excellent job he does. I never played the games and usually I wait till a season is over so I can binge it. But the last of us I tuned in every week so so good. Cant wait for S2
I enjoy getting to watch a great show when it airs too, because it gives the viewer a week to digest everything before jumping into the next episode a week later. TLOU was heavy lol
2:50 THAT ENTIRE SECTION WAS CGI???? I only believed that part of the clickers was CGI models mixed with real actors, but the entire set being CGI.. bruh.. Shows how well and efficiently the budget was spent.
The first scene with the clicker in the museum gives me chills every single time I watch it, because of how perfectly they recreated the essence of the game. The way you feel watching that scene is exactly how you feel when you're playing it. The silence, the sneaking around, Joel reloading with the clicker around the corner (this shot specifically was so spot on) and the way the infected move, the sounds, even the way Ellie is hiding. Neil Druckmann was so real for saying he gets emotional watching it because there's something so beautiful and moving about how it does the game justice and then some.
Now, Druckman may be amazing, but let’s not discount the colossal rise of Craig Mazin! He went from writing Scary Movie 3, 4 (funny movies I still think) to creating the breathtaking Chernobyl, and co-creating an adaptation no one thought possible. Now that is also genius!!
It looked amazing. I've played the game countless times and this show totally did it justice, especially with the infected. And I am so glad you guys included the Bloater. It was something my wife and I talked a lot about beforehand because we were really hoping to see one, and then we did and it looked incredible. The only thing I will nitpick to say I really missed was the bridge moment from the game. But again, nitpicking. Great job to all who were involved.
I haven't seen many behind the scenes movie productions, but this is the most incredible I've ever seen, thank you for bringing the show to life, it is perfect.
The moment where the Bloater rips the guy apart reminds me of Jango Fett. He runs out of bullets and the Bloater gets him. Jango Fett’s jetpack malfunctions and gets decapitated
The designs are epic. When they revealed the clickers I was like “oh that’s not good” and then the bloater erupts from the crater and I’m like “that’s REALLY not good”
They look like they are in different stages of coral over them. Which would make more sense when they were harder to kill. Mushrooms, you'd think that bullets would travel right through them and kill them quick. Mushrooms are soft while coral is very hard to get through.
imagine if they showing time process the fungus transforming the infected to blindness. from drill through brain, the skull temple, eyes popping, nose, till through the upper jaw teeth
After watching the BTS of clicker here on TH-cam, I felt like as if the clicker is near me, huge shout out to the people who were present there must be a very scary environment
Absolutely stunning !! as a fan of the orginal game, seeing the characters come to life while watching the show was breathtaking and these vfx, makeup and costume team did a phenomenal job but honestly speaking, the writting of the tv show was flawed and they could have done a far better job. Lack of action, pace and unwanted prioritization of unnecessary storyline were the major negatives in the TV show.

I'm fine with Part II storyline. What I didn't love is the execution. However, with Craig Mazin, I think they will knock it out of the park with the shows. Can't wait for Part II.
Part 2 has a good plotline in there somewhere. I'd put money of TV scriptwriters making it better than what we got in the game. It needs better flow and pacing. Otherwise the drama in it is great.
I'm an action actor looking for a role. I love non speaking roles with physical emotion acting. I do have a good roar though, kinda Jon Bernthal or Hugh Jackman like.. so im good at angry too. Thanks for existing. If you need detailed story plots I can come up with about infinite on the spot. But I want in :p
The creators said this series would be very faithful to the original, and overall it's good though: 1-the spores are not in the series. 2-the infected barely appear in the show. 3- the story is important but needed more action. 4-Joel is not as tough as in the game. 5-what exactly did Joel do after his daughter died. 6-Acting is important, but so is characterization, Bella Ramsey doesn't look like Ellie. 7-Bill didn't have a toxic relationship with Frank that caused them to break up like they did in the original game. 8-Bill interacting with Joel and Ellie 9-David was not a shepherd in the game. 10-Maria and Sarah weren't black in the game. 11-Jackson's community was not communist. 12-how Ellie meet Riley. 13-how Ellie meet Marlene. missing things: 1-what happened to Joel in these 20 years. 2-Joel and Tess' relationship, and how they met. 3-Joel and Tommy's relationship, and how they broke up. 4-how Frank and Bill's toxic relationship unfolded and what made Frank leave. 5-David's path to becoming the leader of the cannibals. 6-where Ellie was created in detail. 7-What happened after Ellie's. mother was infected. 8-What happened after Riley was infected. 9-how the outbreak started in more detail. 10-better explore each stage of the infection, and the capabilities of those infected. 11-How the government and the F.E.D.R.A. dealt with the outbreak. 12-how Cordyceps acts on the infected in more detail. 13-how the Jackson community was created. in short: in my opinion this series is 3/10, it lacked a lot to add, and overall the biggest problem was the lack of development and the short length of the season, if it had at least 20 episodes and they fixed all the points, it would be a series 10/10, but of course this is just my opinion.

I really enjoyed it. Just like Rings of Power, it was overwhelmed by 1 star reviews, which is absurd. It was by no means a disappointment, even if anyone thinks it wasn’t the best, it was no small feat.

The bloater emerging from the hole was one of the parts I was really excited about from watching the trailer. Did not disappoint.
