@Long Island Watch would have loved to have bought from you but too slow. Was lucky enough to get the very last one from the last retailer I could find that had any in Australia. Though love the ISL-70 and ISL-92 I got your last sale. Awesome watches.
I bought this watch direct from Orient and it is a stunner. The strap didn't take long to break in and it fits the watch nicely. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the new colours, Orient really knocked it out of the park with this new series in my opinion.
We managed to get the very first one manufactured 0001 of 2000. After watching your video, we went through the remaining stock to see what numbers we had, and to our surprise we found 0001. Your videos are very educational.
I agree. I was looking for something a little cheaper like a RayII but then I saw this. I immediately threw my wallet at my monitor. It'll be here Tuesday! :)
Good camera work and narration as usual! Can't go far wrong, fully lumed, day-date, hackable, windable, 20Bar, Saphire crystal, excellent Japanese accurate movement. I have a black and gold version, this chocolate version...personal pref.
Love that Orient! I alway find it odd when dive watches are not sold with a band(extra) that you could at least get wet even if you would never go diving with it, but this is nice.
I love the looks of that watch. I have a few entry level luxury watches like a Seamaster and a black bay 58, a Squale I got from Long Island watch and others and an Orient Ray I got from you plus others and the Orient surprisingly gets a great deal of wrist time. It’s one of the least expensive and it’s up there as a favorite. This new limited edition might need to go home with me.
Sometimes things could be infront of our face and we by pass it. In the BOX LIMITED EDITION. You get a pass because I done that many times. Love that watch!!
Love to learn from you. It's funny the urban live around where I live. I though he was in England but he is in New York. I'm right infront of the GWB seen his videos and he has made video there that's how I know he is from ny.
With this watch Orient made a bold statment. If they want to they can step up their game easy. The watch is perfect, that dial i quality made one. This on a good braclet and ceramic bezel insert could easaly go for 500$ maybe more. That loock from the side is gorgeously made.Big Hit from Orient and i love it
Great review mark ! Got this one the day it was out !! Was looking for the Best deal on the older version of the red kamasu and this new one popped up ! Its a very nice watch ! Wasnt impressed with the strap so paired it with a beige / bordeaux nato, perfect combo now ! Keep up the great work ! Cheers from France !
It's about time Orient played with the color more. I have the blue version, and while the sunburst really pops in LED light or outdoors, in most light, the dark cobalt blue hue so dark it's almost black.
Loving the bezel insert and like the strap on this. Once I'm confident I can swap out the bezel and replace the insert I'll be upgrading it my Gen 1 Kamasu. Got my Red Kamasu Gen 1 on a black and red NATO right atm until my maroon tudor nato arrives.
Just got mine - brilliant looking watch! I kind of like the limited edition vibe as it's so special. Not a huge fan of leather straps, but found a coffee-colored milanese mesh online. Let's see how it goes with this one.
Could you please report on the cofee colored milanese on your Orient Kamasu? I have spent almost half a year trying to find a decent metal bracelet fit and im starting to get gray hairs. There is nothing out there that i could find. Please share info on this milanese. Do they offer other styles in that same color? Thank you in advance.
I really wish Orient would listen to feedback and give us a better crown. The biggest gripe with the Makos, Rays, and Kamasus is the small, non grippy crown buried between huge lug guards. Don’t get me wrong, I love Orient and I wear my Ray II and Kamasu all the time. They are great watches but the crown could be easily made better. I slightly filed down the crown guards on both my Ray II and my Kamasu. Still a pain to use but much easier to access and manipulate now.
@Long Island Watch I have spent half a year trying to find a metal bracelet for this exact watch! PLEASE tell me you sell "bronzish" rosegold plated stainless steel bracelet for this model. Im at the end of my rope. I cant stand wearing it on a Nato anymore and the stock leather strap that came with it literally disintegrated and rotted off since i live in a very humid and tropical country. PLEASE help me with this. I dont know what else to do, i love the watch but none of the bracelets i have ever seen fit this watch. All rose-gold bracelets are way too bright and shiny for the "bronzeish" aged rose gold that the case comes in. Help. I beg.
Hi Mark, thank you, really thank you for skipping the presentation of the box, it is something very boring that from my point of view should not take more than 5 seconds, the boxes are very beautiful and Artisanal that they could be, but they are only used to put the watch back, or to be stored if you want to keep it. And what follows, what is really important THE WATCH. Well, returning to your interesting review, it is true that this Orient has a unique attraction, a retro style, with that gradient on the dial, and the color of the lume makes it look quite good, I acquired the gray version, although I recognize that this red is interesting and very pretty but it doesn't suit my style. Thank you for your work, and congratulations on your creations, hope that you have news for us in 2022. Greetings 😀👍🏼
Love the look, but I wonder about the durability of the plating/coating. I like and dislike the day/date. Orient seems to pretty much always use it in divers; I wonder why.
You are absolutely correct about getting the bezel off. It is extremely difficult. I had to go to a local watch repair shop and have him cut off the bezel with a dremel. If anybody has an easier way to remove a bezel on the kamasu, let me know.
At the 12 and 6 on the bezel there are little gaps where the bezel meets the case. They can be seen when you look between the lugs. I used a small case back opening tool for removing snap on case backs. It was still difficult but it did work for me. Make sure to tape the bezel and case to mitigate scratches
@@islandwatch You really do work all day, just saw you on the IG live, probably worked all day. Kudos to you man, you’re an example of what this generation needs to do. Get up and work.

Hate to be the one that points out the following, why a plated diver watch, so after a few months of use in sea water to wear out ? Why the aluminum insert, so it'll also wear out ? Why on a diver watch that type of strap which can't be used while swimming, won't ask diving ? Why that tiny crown that appears coin but lacks grip ? The watch is nice and the colors match but it's supposed to be a DIVER watch ! 2000 pieces limited edition, that's just to bump up the retail price, imo. There is a load of micro brands that offer way much more, am sure that's why Marc is proudly wearing the Spinnaker which btw looks awesome and VERY affordable. Camera work, wording 10/10 as usual, watch - I'll pass. Merry Christmas and happy new year Marc:)
It’s like Seiko left this niche completely to let Orient take over with with those affordable well built lookers. Marc, why is it not possible to ship specifically Orient watches from your store to my country (Israel)?
Kamasutu o.O Prefer the old rectangular markers myself. Other than that the colour looks supreme but obviously kills off any chance of a 3rd party bracelet which is a shame.
Orient or sako? Would you send 300 on a orient or 300 on a seiko? Love both but leaning more to seiko but, I would love to hear what you think as I'm always open minded.
I love the new generation of the Kamasu and I prefer it to the old one, with the exception of the red dial version. This red one doesn't do it for me - I love the old one though! I just prefer the dial colour with a more "vivid" red, the regular steel colour and I think it works better with straps, with it being more dressier than this one (imo). This one is still a lovely piece specs-wise, obviously. And I'm sure lots of people will like it. The limited edition adds some interest, surely.
I have 5 Orient watches(Mako2, Ray2, Kamasu red, Kamasu green, Kamasu 4) now. They are all great watches, but if you shake them left and right softly for more than 10 seconds, they all speed up for 4 ~ 5 seconds immediately. If you do it again, they speed up more. Also, they all speed up approximately 10 ~15 seconds after walking for 3 ~ 5km or exercise in gym) Since all of my 5 Orient watches and SKX007 are same, I think it's normal for them. Anybody has comment for this here?
Not sure what this should be called but I love my red JDM Kamasu with Kanji days. What I absolutely hate about orient is the only aftermarket parts you can buy are straps and overpriced bezels... My bezel click ring recently broke, I managed to remove my bezel with ease using a butter knife but broke the bezel o ring. Some people have said the SKX 120 click bezel will fit, I tired but only get 60 clicks but maybe that's as the oring is not installed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If you have a problem with the movement a need a part orient will charge you more than the watch but my watchmaker confirmed the older orient caliber balance, hairsprinf and bridge will fit on the newer movements and so should alot of other parts. I'm disappointed that orient did not use a metal movement holder on the Kamasu as they use it on the ray2 and mako2. I would love to see a GMT diver from orient and I hope they can improve their bezel alignment and upgrade their bracelets. I really hope orient starts to sell spare parts to the public or at least watchmakers as if something breaks and you can't find a cheap donor watch as orient would charge nearly the amount of buying a new watch to repair an old one. Seiko is quite overpriced for what you get and I find orient to be more accurate and have more sapphire offerings but they really have to improve after sales and parts.
The colors, the plating... everything blends beautifully.
Absolutely gorgeous .Orient rule the waves as far as I'm conceared.I love my MForce Bravo and this is yet another winner from them.Stunning .
