It can even lead to them resorting to emotional blackmail and gaslighting. Emotional hypersensitivity can be the result of unprocessed trauma, low self-esteem, insecurity, and... emotional neglect. Remember how her mom stomped off to "fix the problem" instead of staying to comfort her daughter and help her calm down? Remember how the girl through her tears choked out "I don't even know why I'm so upset." Maybe I'm overanalyzing, but I feel like this is why emotional and mental health are so goddamn important and need to be talked about more.
I agree with you...I'm embarassed to say I cry when my siblings don't listen to me and only listens to my other older siblings and made me have a low self esteem and insecurity..but thats just the fam..idc if its someone else. Even in family, in the end i cursed them out a lil in my heart because,,no respect lol and rude

I'm autistic and have had meltdowns before, they don't happen super often anymore but especially when I was in middle and high school, I had awful, violent meltdowns where I would self harm and sometimes, something really really small would set them off. I can promise you with all that I am, it was never about the small things, and was ALWAYS about all of the things I could never express that just built, and built, and built, until I couldn't contain it anymore. It's gotten a lot better since I've been putting full effort into therapy, DBT and CBT, and that's why I fully believe that there isn't a damn thing wrong with being sensitive. We just need to learn how to effectively and healthily manage and communicate our emotions.
this reminds me of when I went to a camp and this girl was staring at me a bit weird so I stuck my tongue out at her (I was like 6-7 years old). She got all offended and even after I apologized she wouldn't let it go and said she would tell a camp counselor, but the person she tattled to said "it's just a tongue" the look on her face- I was so happy

I was HYPER sensitive as a kid, I had my backpack taken and thrown away and I cried as a good example,, but I kinda grew out of that and now I mostly cry in secret. I've been flipped off so many times on the road because I follow traffic laws and nobody likes that, and every time I imagine them getting pulled over for speeding and going to jail. It makes the bad experience a very cathartic one instead

Back when I was 13, there was this kid (we’re decent friends now) who would push me, punch me, and would just upset me a lot, and because of that reason I was considered sensitive. I don’t think he was trying to be mean, I think it was meant as banter, he just didn’t know his own size and strength. So if that’s considered being sensitive then I don’t know what the fuck this is.
Reminds me of my childhood experience back then. I was a really friendly kid to the point my family were constantly worried I might get kidnapped since I really like talking to strangers. One day, my aunt took me to a one-day-vacation scheduled by her office (with my parents' permission ofc) and I tried to have a conversation with my aunt's supervisor's daughter. She was about 11 or 12 at that time and I was still 6-7 years old. I was happily chatty but never used any foul word, and she suddenly cried and reported me to her mom, saying I was bullying her. It seemed like the daughter was in a bad mood at that time, but I don't understand why should she say I was "bullying" her? I mean, I was 4-5 years younger than her. In the end, the mom scolded my aunt and she told my aunt to raise me better. I know it's an old story but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that there are parents who immediately believe whatever their kid says without taking the time to think about it more. The supervisor didn't even try to calm her crying daughter, she just got into defensive mode immediately.
As a very sensitive person, I couldn't say that I'm completely different to her. Altho she was more of a spoiled brat rather than overly sensitive person. If that happened to me, that whole thing would keep me thinking all night, trying to figure out why the man is mad at me and did that to me, where I went wrong, and started questioning my life choices and finally, breaking down. well you are probably 1/3th of the population wich cries at/after work. cuz most of the time you want to say something back, but since you work with customers you can/wont cuz you want to keep your job. it makes you feel like you have no power in the situation wich sucks even more. i work in a restaurant and have had many customers wich where awfull. only my first toughts that came to mind was that i wanted to smack em, or say something back but obvously could not do that so i just bite my tounge. but once i get home, i just release the pent up anger and emotions on a boxing bag, these things are just emotions. emotions dont last and are only temporary. best thing i learned, is to find a way to release emotions wich seem to stay, by either boxing wich works for me but may not for you or any other thing that you think may work. there is also being sensitive and being an adult and sensitive and being an adult baby idiot wich tries to get internet points.

She is a millenial You literally can't say anything "negative" to her or she will cry/over victimize herself and not shut up abt it She is 32 years old and still has her mommy fight her battles. I used to have issues when I was young when I wouldn’t be sad or upset or anything but I would get teary-eyed when talking to people. It turned out I had clinical depression.
This behavior signals the complete opposite really. She probably was extremely babied and coddled as a child. Never had anything bad really happen to her. Her mom is still trying to stop her from being hurt in any way. So when someone is being the slightest bit rude it feels like a huge monumental thing.
And in personal expierence, my mother was always ab//ve and my dad wasnt, he was most likely to spoil his kids. Theyre seperated, and have children with other people. All the kids who've lived in my moms house have thick skin and act very mature. My dads kid crys when theres no milk in the fridge and when shes being told to pick up a mess she made, and when someone tries to explain to her why something she did was wrong without actually scolding or raising there voice.

She would cry about the smallest things to get what she wants, and she can cry just about anything aswell. one time in one of our classes, our teacher heard one of us yawn, and just told us about yawning. in the middle of it, she stopped herself from yawning, and the teacher told her that she shouldn't stop herself from yawning because it helps you get oxygen... then she just went on a whole tantrum crying about how she didn't get it, and that she might die...

I used to involuntarily tear up while arguing. Not even arguing, just explaining something. Thankfully it phased off, even I was annoyed by it. It's all in controlling the breathing.
This is why I feel like parents always properly discipline their kids, set up rules, boundaries and values plus as well as didn't prepare for the world world and making sure they're tough enough to face the real world. It doesn't do the kid nor the parent any good just spoil them and not to teach him the proper fundamentals you get is an adult who never truly grow up out of the kids stage of their life that's why we have so many overly sensitive adult who think it's okay to cry throw tantrum and demand to get their way all the time like a child still some of it it's on the parents or it could be completely on the parent or not at all if this is some form of rebellious this varies will know this won't stop longest this is encouraged and publicized either by social media parents or schools
I agree with this, but you can't be too harsh on them. For example, I was told not to cry because it made my dad mad growing up. To be fair, he did give us a few exceptions in which it was okay to cry, feelings are seriously hurt or you get hurt physically, but he always got annoyed and angry when you did. And you were only allowed to cry for a little bit. I'm not so sure this is a great thing to do to your kids, as I'm now extremely uncomfortable sharing anything negative with him that might make me upset and cry. Parents need to make sure that their kids are tough, but they also need to make sure that their kids can cry in front of them without being afraid. There should be a healthy balance is all I'm saying.

@@jeddllau aw, don’t worry.. anything embarrassing I did/said as a teenager, I barely remember now (I’m 28, for reference). Plus I had (still have) mostly untreated ADHD, so the main causes of my particular embarrassment relate to lack of impulse control/mental filter. I learned to just keep my mouth shut and listen more, and as I made more friends, I’ve gotten more comfortable letting out some of the more random thoughts. That said, I do kinda catch myself “screening” my thoughts before I go to say anything, and sometimes I’m not focused on that so whatever pops into my brain comes out of my mouth. So.. I guess the main takeaway is, try to hone your impulse control and try not to take life quite so seriously. Laughing stuff off helps a lot with that! I hope this helps ❤️

@@jeddllau A lot of mistakes teens make is dating each other. Just because you're single it doesn't mean you're available. If you're not dating for something long-term or marriage, don't do it. It's not worth the mental turmoil when you eventually break up after a month. Just be happy with yourself as is, and if you can't, strive to just get though the week. After you've gotten through it, get through the next and the next.

I had an experience with a friend that stabbed me and my other friend in the back, and when we confronted them they played the victim and threw a giant baby tantrum on the floor and had her mom deal with it. Our moms got mad at us since they thought we were a lot more in the wrong, but me and my good friend still laughed and made jokes about them afterwards lol. I dunno, the girl getting her mom to fight her battles for her just reminded me of that.

Back when I was 13, there was this kid (we’re decent friends now) who would push me, punch me, and would just upset me a lot, and because of that reason I was considered sensitive. I don’t think he was trying to be mean, I think it was meant as banter, he just didn’t know his own size and strength. So if that’s considered being sensitive then I don’t know what the fuck this is.

Reminds me of my childhood experience back then. I was a really friendly kid to the point my family were constantly worried I might get kidnapped since I really like talking to strangers. One day, my aunt took me to a one-day-vacation scheduled by her office (with my parents' permission ofc) and I tried to have a conversation with my aunt's supervisor's daughter. She was about 11 or 12 at that time and I was still 6-7 years old. I was happily chatty but never used any foul word, and she suddenly cried and reported me to her mom, saying I was bullying her. It seemed like the daughter was in a bad mood at that time, but I don't understand why should she say I was "bullying" her? I mean, I was 4-5 years younger than her. In the end, the mom scolded my aunt and she told my aunt to raise me better. I know it's an old story but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that there are parents who immediately believe whatever their kid says without taking the time to think about it more. The supervisor didn't even try to calm her crying daughter, she just got into defensive mode immediately.
Her mom is 100% the reason she's like this. And this girl knows it and uses it to her advantage.
As a very sensitive person, I couldn't say that I'm completely different to her. Altho she was more of a spoiled brat rather than overly sensitive person. If that happened to me, that whole thing would keep me thinking all night, trying to figure out why the man is mad at me and did that to me, where I went wrong, and started questioning my life choices and finally, breaking down. well you are probably 1/3th of the population wich cries at/after work. cuz most of the time you want to say something back, but since you work with customers you can/wont cuz you want to keep your job. it makes you feel like you have no power in the situation wich sucks even more. i work in a restaurant and have had many customers wich where awfull. only my first toughts that came to mind was that i wanted to smack em, or say something back but obvously could not do that so i just bite my tounge. but once i get home, i just release the pent up anger and emotions on a boxing bag, these things are just emotions. emotions dont last and are only temporary. best thing i learned, is to find a way to release emotions wich seem to stay, by either boxing wich works for me but may not for you or any other thing that you think may work. there is also being sensitive and being an adult and sensitive and being an adult baby idiot wich tries to get internet points.

I used to involuntarily tear up while arguing. Not even arguing, just explaining something. Thankfully it phased off, even I was annoyed by it. It's all in controlling the breathing.
This is why I feel like parents always properly discipline their kids, set up rules, boundaries and values plus as well as didn't prepare for the world world and making sure they're tough enough to face the real world. It doesn't do the kid nor the parent any good just spoil them and not to teach him the proper fundamentals you get is an adult who never truly grow up out of the kids stage of their life that's why we have so many overly sensitive adult who think it's okay to cry throw tantrum and demand to get their way all the time like a child still some of it it's on the parents or it could be completely on the parent or not at all if this is some form of rebellious this varies will know this won't stop longest this is encouraged and publicized either by social media parents or schools
I agree with this, but you can't be too harsh on them. For example, I was told not to cry because it made my dad mad growing up. To be fair, he did give us a few exceptions in which it was okay to cry, feelings are seriously hurt or you get hurt physically, but he always got annoyed and angry when you did. And you were only allowed to cry for a little bit. I'm not so sure this is a great thing to do to your kids, as I'm now extremely uncomfortable sharing anything negative with him that might make me upset and cry. Parents need to make sure that their kids are tough, but they also need to make sure that their kids can cry in front of them without being afraid. There should be a healthy balance is all I'm saying.

@@jeddllau aw, don’t worry.. anything embarrassing I did/said as a teenager, I barely remember now (I’m 28, for reference). Plus I had (still have) mostly untreated ADHD, so the main causes of my particular embarrassment relate to lack of impulse control/mental filter. I learned to just keep my mouth shut and listen more, and as I made more friends, I’ve gotten more comfortable letting out some of the more random thoughts.
That said, I do kinda catch myself “screening” my thoughts before I go to say anything, and sometimes I’m not focused on that so whatever pops into my brain comes out of my mouth. So.. I guess the main takeaway is, try to hone your impulse control and try not to take life quite so seriously. Laughing stuff off helps a lot with that! I hope this helps ❤️

I had an experience with a friend that stabbed me and my other friend in the back, and when we confronted them they played the victim and threw a giant baby tantrum on the floor and had her mom deal with it.
