Toxic positivity is a real thing and it really need to be adressed. Yes, hating on fat people is really bad but saying that being fat (and I'm not saying being a little unfit, like being actually fat) is good is really bad too as not only being fat is bad for your health, saying that it is good will only let people accept their condition of being fat and not make an effort to be more healthy. Yes, everyone has a different body type but when you look like a ball, I think you can start questionning your life choices. Being too thin is bad too but you don't see someone saying that looking like a skeleton is good no? Not being attracted to fat people isn't fatphobic, and if that offends you, I'm sorry but it is the truth. Peoples are entitled to their preferences, as long as they don't bother others with it. Being fat is something that can be changed, unlike being disabled or being of a certain ethnicity.
I think it's quite telling though that most people accepting obesity are American. I've never seen any British, Australian, French, or even Canadian people celebrating it, as more as I'm aware of.
Loophole that will be utilized with "people are entitled to their preferences": the person's preference of not wanting to date a ball-like human _bothers_ the ball person [who is super vocal on social networking apps and sites]. Otherwise they would not have made the video.. What people _really_ need to understand is that just because you have a preference, it doesn't mean those you prefer will prefer you
That is so true. I am so sorry I am late replying to you and commenting on this video, I am a new fan of Pegasus' as of this year, 2023. I know this video is about two years old now, and I am commenting late here. You are so right. Being fit and being muscular are survival standards, not beauty standards. Most people need to realize the difference between beauty standards and survival standards, but I also acknowledge that people are so fake, that they cannot even handle the truth anymore. That is wrong as well. Thank you for pointing that out. It is true that while you may not be able to help the whole world, if you can help one person, to them, it can mean the world.
The reason I work out has nothing to do with hating fat people- it's about me. It's about me looking in the mirror and liking the way I look. It's very personal. These people just want to be "oppressed" because they want attention and sympathy, when the truth is most people watching their videos only feel a slight, burning hatred for their content.
Yeah man me too , when I was in school I used to have such an active lifestyle and felt so good , now that I’ve taken an year off before college my physical activity has hit a new low and I feel very lethargic.
I am 65. At my age no amount of working out is going to make me look like a young model. Those days are long gone. But I have a really big fear of ending up in a wheelchair and in a nursing home. So I exercise daily. I park at the far end of the parking lot when shopping. I take the stairs over the elevator. I visited a cousin I played with as a child in a nursing home this summer. I do not want that. My grandfather ploughed the field with a horse when he was in his 90s. Went to bed and never woke up. Great death, following a great life. My ideal death will be to be out kayaking in my late 90s and just go out there. But at least I want to go in my own home, still having control of my life. Also I live in Canada were if you are in a nursing home they put you on the Death Canada food guidelines.

First lady really just made herself seem like she was homophobic: "But when your preferences exclude a group of marginalized people, that's problematic." Like...what about the straight people only preferring their opposite sex, or gay people preferring their same sex? So what, they're problematic too? I didn't think so.
According to Riely Dennis yes this is problematic. Lol. Or more specifically if someone says they're a lesbian and not into people with penises that its a problem because they're excluding pre-op trans-women. That they're defining people by their genitals. 🙄🙄. Again one word needed here CONSENT.
That turn your ears on thing was actually extremely abelist of her. Me being deaf I find it exceptionally offensive that she decided to make fun of the community with hearing disabilities by doing a mock hearing aid volume turn up motion to make her point.
I definitely missed those times when people never misused the words "racist" and "phobic". At this point both of those words are going to be a thing of the past, if someone is going to say they hate a specific race or something, then instead of saying the word "racist", they'll just be called out as offensive.

Sorry you’re short? But people don’t act like that towards short people, and people acting poorly towards one group doesn’t give you permission to act poorly towards another group.

Not being attracted to disabled people isnt ableist. Its possible that you want someone to go skydiving, hiking, or something with. Ableist is when you give someone a hard time for being disabled. Edit: its also when you treat an able-bodied person better than a disabled person purely based on the fact that one is disabled and one is not.
It’s definitely ableist to count someone out of your life just because they have a disability. You can go skydiving with your other friends. If you refuse to love someone simply because they can’t do the same physical things at you? That’s ableist, my guy.

i absolutely hate people who can’t understand preferences, as someone who prefers people who are taller than me, that doesn’t mean that i see shorter people than me cant be attractive. personally, i feel that people who are taller than me kind of gives me a sense of protection and i have my own likes and dislikes but that doesn’t mean that people who are shorter can’t do the same, i just feel more inclined to like people who are taller. either way, love who you want to love and there’s no such thing as loving someone wrong except of course abuse and etc.

I can understand the second lady. Just imagine you are struggling with your weight and finally decide to go the gym, and they just kick you out mid session. Was it because she was fat? Probably not. But can it make her super insecure to the point she is crying? Definitely. But making a tiktok while you feel that way and posting it seems kinda fake
right , like it’s not because she’s fat. but i’ve seen hoochies and the gym and would feel hella embarrassed if i tried wearing what they wear and then get kicked out. especially when they had already given her a warning.
My question is why would a gym have a dress code like that in the first place? I always thought it was pretty normal for women to wear what she was wearing while exercising, and there are even universities that don't have a dress code against that sort of thing
@@jahirareyes1102 it's a word that gen z randomly says whenever someone is doing & saying something right also alot of times during dramatic situations they say it for sarcasm.
Here's the thing. You can't change what you're physically attracted to, correct? And most people are attracted to, surprise surprise, fit people. For one, seeing someone fit already gets the assumption that they've worked hard for it, because you simply cannot just have that body effortlessly, and this is even more admired by people who _knows_ how hard it is to attain that body. People are usually not very fond of physical minorities, such as people with disabilities, simply for the fact that they're minorities, they have less chances to be around someone's life that'll make them get used to and comfortable towards people with disabilities. Most of the people who don't mind people with disabilities are people who've already had experience with them beforehand. Now, what about racial minorities? That's a lot more different since, well, racial minorities aren't actually minorities if we sort by the world in general. There's definitely a lot more black people than disabled people, and this just means that more people have a chance to understand the context of those certain racial minorities more, and just like everyone else, those racial minorities are still able to attain a fit body, so that makes them no different other than the color of skin. So this comparison of physical attraction between race and disabilities is faulty.

Phobia means the fear of something yeah I'm fatphobic I'm scared one of them will fall one and crush Mento death fatphobia has been around for years I'm sorry
A lot of people just don't know how to process their trauma and end up lashing out whenever they are triggered, that's why *trigger warnings* exist. While racism is subtly tied to most things as the world has been built on the backs of slavery and racism, I agree correlation is not causation. In this particular case, racism through the still existing major pay gap between sexes and skin colour affecting all activities and lifestyles is what they are getting at, but that equally is ableist as people with disabilities are also paid less for the same jobs... I just don't understand why people would project their systemic induced trauma on the average civilian who isn't actively participating in discrimination. Like girl, I get it, society sucks, but going after the people who also don't have a say in our system is like punching a Walmart employee because of inflation, You're going after the wrong guy m'dude.

I'm skinny, and I mean REALLY skinny, I try to do better and eat more and it's hard, but do I call other people "skinnyphobic" because they just like to eat? I also have a struggle to find some clothes on my size but do I cry in the shop? People have to understand that everyone's body is different and we can't change ourselves for some mad gen Z Karens
The struggle is real. Stores don't carry my size pants either, and I always have to wear a belt. I don't throw a hissy fit when I see someone with hips wide enough wear pants right out of the store. Why does everyone try changing everyone else before they try to change themselves for the better?
I had a friend who always wore baggy cloths to cover her bones. She had been tormented as a child for being too skinny. She ate none stop. Two dozen donuts a day easy. She would get into her car to visit two doors down. I once suggested she go on a high fat diet. She had already tried at her doctors suggestion. Lost 10 pounds in a week. This was back in the 80s and I did not understand how that happened. I do now. She was on a fat fast and of course dropped weight. Worse advice for her ever. Great advice for the very carb sensitive. Unlike most people she needed as many carbs as possible. One of the things she resented was when people assumed she starved herself to get thin. If I ate what she ate in a day the fire department would be cutting out the side of a wall and dragging me out on a tarp. I really do not see how she could ever eat any more than she did. Her entire family was just like her. Genetics.
just because some people wanna stay healthy and start feeling confident in their own skins, doesn't make them racist or fatphobic. there's a large line between being fatphobic and wanting to be healthy or confident
i mean fat"phobia" is pretty rational anyway having heart attacks, being unable to bend down without getting tired, and many other things that being fat entails are all valid things to be at least worried about
Nah, the only way I can accept "fatphobia" as a real thing is when there is actual historical evidence of lynchings and slavery. I legit don't understand why they make it seem like a Holocaust happened to anyone obese in the US.
I’m a bit overweight to some degree, and I can tell you, saying that “being obese isn’t healthy,” is definitely NOT “fat phobia”, if that’s even a thing. Someone (my parents) saying, “you’re fat, it’s gross. You’re never getting a boyfriend” is just being mean
That's not nice for your parents to say. I'm someone who's a bit overweight as well, and I can agree, it's not 'fatphobic' to want to lose a few to make me feel healthier and more confident.
@@iamamop1755 my mom sometimes said the same things, but now as I’m still trying to figure out if I’m ace so it doesn’t bother me much anymore, but I’m still trying to loose some weight.
people don’t seem to get the fact that “preferences” and “general hatred in ever single scenario” are different. just because maybe a few people or more don’t want to date you is just based on their opinions. it’s almost the same as having a food preference, right? plus, being fat isnt as exactly good for you as it can cause lots of heart and mobility problems. and you can tell when they’re desperate for attention or praise if they try to add racism in the mix. i have no idea how being fat and being racist got linked together. in general, just respect people for who they are on the inside. outward appearances should only matter formally - like if you’re at some big event or a job interview. they’re only good for first impressions.
I don’t know how that got linked together either it would seem to me that being overweight or fat is not in correlation with being racist you cannot be racist towards fat people because guess what they’re not a race of people they are humans but they are not a skin color
What they really mean is adult responsibility is not something they want in life so they'll call it racist. Mansplaining is wrong, yet fatsplaining is ok. Fukoffleft.
The most oppressed group of people. The people with enough wealth to sustain eating lots at a time and living in a comfortable enough home to not need to exercise. absolutely terrible
LOL no. Your line is going to end with you, so you have failed to fulfill the most fundamental purpose of any life form: procreation. If you don't have children and pass down your genes, then you have failed at life. Why do you think every animal down to the smallest creature literally kills and dies to find a mate? Because at the end of the day, that's all that matters in life. For humans, it's family. Nothing else matters. Not your career, your salary, wealth, the fancy things you own, or even what you think, if you don't have a family that cares about you.
"But when your preferences exclude a group of marginalized people..." So...I can't prefer someone who loves kayaking cause it excludes anyone who doesn't, or someone with an irrational fear of it. I can't prefer someone who likes waking up early because it excludes people who like to stay up late and sleep in, or insomniacs. I can't prefer someone who loves pizza because it excludes people are might be lactose intolerant, don't like pizza, or might have other food allergies. But this woman's "logic", and I use that word loosely, you aren't allowed to have preferences period.
I'm taking a nutrition class at school right now. The semester just started, but I've already learned a lot about how being overweight and obese is really legitimately bad for your health. It increases the likelihood of so many chronic diseases, like diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, cancer, and more. You can lose your feet or legs due to diabetes. Your body is highly affected by your weight. I didn't know just how much it did until taking this class. These people say to educate yourself and want to call you close minded, but they're the ones who need educating.
Heart disease is usually genetic and heart attacks can hit skinny people my grandfather was skinny and a golden gloves boxer and he dropped dead of a heart attack
I used to be morbibly obese for years upon years and the only problem I came out with is arthritis in both knees that is all , strokes can happen to anyone at any size and age I was five years old and had a stroke because of a major head injury I had strokes are caused by trauma to the brain I come from a family of nurses
*Fat acceptance (which is pretty much what the “body positivity” movement has become). Is mostly a young person’s ideology. Mainly because it’s harder to be pro-fat in your 40s (or older) when you’re dealing with a bunch of obesity-related health problems that make your daily existence unpleasant.* *And it’s also tough to be pro-fat as an elderly, fit person when you look around and realize your fat friends died years ago due to an obesity-related condition.*
As someone who once was 300+ and lost 160 lbs, call me "fat phobic " I feel and look so much better and I give 0 f's what these idiots say. If you want to live to be old lose weight.
Alternative opinion: Not everytime someone engages positively in any way, shape or form in another culture they are being racist or are doing culture appropriation Note: This is coming from someone from Europe, it seems like America thinks a little bit different when it comes to culture appropriation Note 2: Personally I think wearing braids as a non black person, cooking food outside of your culture, making songs in different languages or getting a tan isn't racist nor culture appropraion ( as long as u don't make fun of or disrespect the culture ofc )
By their logic stanning Kpop idols should be considered "cultural appropriation," but obviously they never claim such things because they're literally the ones doing it.
"Okay lady, we're going to have to ask you to leave." "Is it because I'm fat?" "No, it's because you are weari-" "It's because I'm fat isn't it? You're fatphobic!" _Runs off_ "…you violated the dress code."
Phobia means fear not dislike or don't care. Not wanting to have seggs , it not phobia. Same with trans people. Consent is for all people. Consent means saying no to people you don't want.
7:22. Okay, I'm gonna give my thought on this list, as someone _actually_ born overweight. "People watching..." - You're _definitely_ gonna get stared at if you're visibly overweight, especially in countries where cultural diets are more balanced that makes the average person in that area relatively thin. This thing just feels like a jab as if the people are wrong for staring, when all they've done is _stare._ They didn't insult, judge, berate, no, the worst thing is that they stared. Yes, that can feel very demeaning in itself, but if you want the euphoria of going over the average person's diet, you're going to get consequence for it too, and sticking out like a sore thumb would probably garner attention, even unintentional attention, from people. "People checking out the contents..." - Are you sure she isn't just being paranoid whenever someone checks the content of their cart? And even so, what's wrong with not wanting to be fat? If there's nothing wrong with wanting to be fatter, then there's nothing wrong with wanting to be thinner, or at the very least, as heavy as her. It's simply factual that you have a lot more advantage in certain things if you don't have that much weight, and I can attest to this as someone born heavier than the average baby. "Fat jokes..." - And? Making a 9/11 joke is practically everyone's go-to to a dark humor conference. People have said much worse to the extent of humor, and honestly being bullied for being fat, it comes to a point that some fat jokes genuinely makes me laugh and cancels out what's supposed to be negative to me. "Friends..." - Lol. Understood why you even skipped over this one, that's just absurd. "Being prescribed..." - Surprise surprise, even if weight loss won't solve every problem, it'll sure make it easier to solve them lol "Harder time finding work..." - She does realize that a lot of jobs require manual labour right? Half of the jobs on earth are blue-collared. And maybe interviewers can be biased, especially whenever someone breathes so audibly every time they take a step or pauses to breathe after talking. It may sound harsh but even just basic demeanor will come a play of job interviews, and typically, extremely overweight people who narcistically think there's nothing wrong with them will definitely show in their demeanor. "Shopping..." - This is just dumb. Ever wondered why children's clothes are much, much cheaper than adult clothes? Hm? Maybe because it takes less cloth to make children's clothing? And less money to buy cloth for children's clothing, versus an adult clothing? Maybe because...smaller equal less money to spend on material?
"People checking out the contents of their cart in the supermarket" I think this right here is solid evidence that her self conscious is to the point that it has created a paranoia that has hindered her ability to rationalize how her own mind works. It's not uncommon for people who have extreme insecurities to form ideas of things such as this but it's a different story thinking that it's not only true for you but also true for anyone who shares the trait that you're insecure about.
I agree. My mom was once at a gym with a personal trainer and they were laughing. An obese person walked over to them and said, "you're laughing at me, aren't you?" They weren't paying attention to that stranger at all. When people are at places like supermarkets and gyms, they're concerned with their own tasks, not people they don't know.
If I see a Person, normally a "Mother" figure with a large filled shopping trolley, I say "wow that is going to cost a lot". Because I see the Monetary value of what she bought.
"If your preference excludes a group of marginalized people, it's bad." I bet my left foot this chick wouldn't date a poor dude (Literally the most marginalized group) or would rather date a rich one.
I'm a gen Z, but I don't feel like one, with all of these gen Z stereotypes. (I'm gen Z, and I don't think exercising is racist at all.) Am I "fatphobic" because I don't want to be overweight? 🤷♀️
I went to the gym when I was able to look better feel better, but you say I’m fat phobic, I hear a fat joke I laugh out loud, I am not fat phobic, she is clueless.
Having preference and discrimination are different..I swear the first girl got that mixed up. It's okay to not have preferences in fat people, but discriminating them and hating them just because of their weight..that's a different problem. Same goes to disabled people, you can't deny that dealing with them might be difficult and yes it's okay to not consider them as a part of one's preference. It IS hard to deal with them, but it's not an excuse to be an asshole to them either, like all people, they still should be respected, and people's preferences should be respected too..as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.
same, i was 150 pounda at 5’3” and it’s already considered over weight and at that weight i was more likely to have diseases and so i lost some and now im at 110 pounds at 5’3” and i feel much more healthy and exercising really improved my health.

Not being attracted to disabled people isnt ableist. Its possible that you want someone to go skydiving, hiking, or something with.
Ableist is when you give someone a hard time for being disabled. Edit: its also when you treat an able-bodied person better than a disabled person purely based on the fact that one is disabled and one is not.
true!

@@PickleRicksFATASSCOUSIN Oh thanks .

Better tip: stop making everything offensive. Please.
Yeah but not exercising for yourself, telling a person who expressed to you they have chronic illness to do yoga or join a gym, that would be ableist.

By their logic stanning Kpop idols should be considered "cultural appropriation," but obviously they never claim such things because they're literally the ones doing it.

"Okay lady, we're going to have to ask you to leave."
"Is it because I'm fat?"
"No, it's because you are weari-"
"It's because I'm fat isn't it? You're fatphobic!" _Runs off_
"…you violated the dress code."
"Being prescribed..." - Surprise surprise, even if weight loss won't solve every problem, it'll sure make it easier to solve them lol
"Harder time finding work..." - She does realize that a lot of jobs require manual labour right?
@FiggyFig_ bro Desiree s’more likes for writing an essay, do your English homework instead.
"People checking out the contents of their cart in the supermarket"
I think this right here is solid evidence that her self conscious is to the point that it has created a paranoia that has hindered her ability to rationalize how her own mind works.
''your'e wrong! om nom nom!'' 🤣
If I see a Person, normally a "Mother" figure with a large filled shopping trolley, I say "wow that is going to cost a lot". Because I see the Monetary value of what she bought.

EXERCISE EVEN IF ITS FAT FKING PHOBIC OR YOU WILL END UP LIKE ME
same, i was 150 pounda at 5’3” and it’s already considered over weight and at that weight i was more likely to have diseases and so i lost some and now im at 110 pounds at 5’3” and i feel much more healthy and exercising really improved my health.
I didn’t know being overweight was a race, I’ve learned so much today from tiktok 😊
so historically speaking fat phobia is technically rooted from racism but still these people are out of line for using that reference in today's standards.
