    The best thing Auto-trader ever did was bring this presenter from top gear. I feel like Autotrader now have a presence online other than their website. A bit like how carwow have a significant presence online. Good to see a British presenter, a lot of the car channels are American presenters. I think he's very passionate about cars, as a car enthusiast it's good to see someone that has a genuine passion for cars

      @robsmith1a 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Agreed, I even watch him review cars I'm not really that interested in. As you say his passion comes across, I don't like reviews where they treat car buying the same way they would when buying a fridge. For many of us (but by no means all) buying a car is an emotional purchase.

    • @Jojohumf
      @Jojohumf 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@robsmith1a exactly cars are a passion. I know loads of people that buy old cars simply for the experience. many treats cars like a household appliance that only serves one use to get you from A to B.

    • @TheUrbanEpicure
      @TheUrbanEpicure 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why? He spoke about heated and ventilated seats and a motorized boot-lid like the E-Class is the only car to offer that. Obvious shit like that is not why I watch car reviews.

    • @TheUrbanEpicure
      @TheUrbanEpicure 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Rubedo Alaberti Sure, but then he should've said "like every competitor in this segment in the last ten years, the facelifted E-Class offers optional heated and ventilated seats". By presenting them as he did, he makes something ordinary seems extraordinary.

      All of the modern world of presentations through electronic media, whether a cell phone or a television, or anywhere in the world as a visual media production now, is known to be hyped in one way or another. Anyone that's not aware of this is simply not living on this planet.
      I worked for well over 20 years in television set in movie set production, my Photography and awarded and published technical astronomy artwork has been featured in NASA websites for over two decades. I've spoken about this on National Public Radio many times. I worked for over 30 years in information technology, data storage, as I trained and supervised employees that worked as my subordinates.
      I can tell you that everywhere we go today and especially in a TH-cam site, somebody wants to drop in and let you know that they claim to know more than somebody else.
      It doesn't get them any extra points in the physical science of awareness departments. Some may say that a certain person is a little more esoteric than others, with information technology. But who's going to get out a ruler and a calculator and start measuring people's automobile IQs here in a TH-cam comments column? (~;

    It’s a shame how Mercedes introduced ‘AMG Line’ trim as top of the range and now they’ve watered it down to looking pretty basic with small wheels, to get you to upgrade to ‘AMG Line Premium’ etc. This test car looks very basic

    • @techyd8411
      @techyd8411 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely! And the 19” alloys with run flats destroy the ride, it slips over bumps, it’s a great car in many ways but I wish I’d stuck with the smaller wheeled one

    Looks like a bigger A-class sedan but more expensive....

    • @allcrazy7285
      @allcrazy7285 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes, I really find it very ugly and cheap
      The front is the worst while it should be the best! Therefore Audi or BMW looks like a much better car.
      Then you have the c class which front is better, but the body overall is an ok tiny fat sedan. Also, the c class has a good front design, but without mods where you pay some thousands. It looks like a car from 2015 or something. This is cheap a class design, and mods cant help! For the price, Mercedes was better then audio and bmw, but c class is shit, e class is shitter. E class is to not right for the average age and people's are interested in cheaper c and e.. They are giving other brands a chance to sell lot of cars!

    For me, W213 is the one with the most luxury looking in its outlook, best tech of year in its inside, and 50 to 50 for its counterweight. As a result, W213 is the one that I like the most, as well as it is the last E-class generation that I can get along with. W214 just looks so much like A-class that even can be replace by a 2020 Camry if price is the primary concern. On the other hand, same kind of situation is also occur in S-class. 😩

    Mirrors on the Pillar or Mirrors on the Door ? I think on the door are much better for Visibility and Looks too 🇬🇧

    A little bit of road noise eh? Well in my experience the E class suffers badly from road noise (on all wheel sizes) unless the road is absolutely smooth. The difference in road noise between smooth and rough surfaces is very marked, and in the UK at least that translates into surprisingly poor refinement most of the time. This makes the car quite stressful to drive, which is really not what you would expect from a car that is supposed to sooth you on a long trip. In fact my previous Audi A4 was better in this respect. Unless the new one is a lot better I won't be getting another one when I'm due to change.
