Hi, I would really appreciate if you could reply. I connected this gsm 900 A with antenna to 5V 2A external power source as you have shown and tried it with different sims, the light still keeps blinking very fast. What can I do??
Will sim 900a support 4g sim? Many told it doesn't support? Please reply...
Forget about 4G. Suppose you have a 4G Sim Card. Now you are traveling a rural area where 4g network is not available, only 2g network works. Now if your sim receives call and message in this 2g network then it will also works with GSM Module.
can we give power to gsm 900 module from the 5v output of Arduino UNO?

so my gsm sim900a looks different why is it so also it requires a 12vdc and after putting the sim the network isn't showing and the network led is continuously blinking
Hello sir , when I insert a sim on GSM module and call on this, it is ringing but in serial monitor when I type AT and send , it's not responding. Sir what I have to Do?
Just change the baudrate. Your module is working on different baudrate. Try others baudrate showing in arduino. You also need to change the baudrate in your code.

I connected module with 5v, 2A power supply. but module not connect with network (LED blink every 1s). I tried to call mounted sim card. But it is not working (not ringing )

Can i ask sir if what is the name of the materials you use in connecting the positive wire and negative wire of gsm module ? I know you mentioned that you need a 5v DC power supply adaptor for gsm module...But what I want is the material you used between the positive wire and negative wire of the GSM module...
It is know as dc barrel jack connector, which is black color.

Hello sir, I manage to connect. I really hope you can help, how to solve this problem, my serial monitor did not show proper messages, when AT command is type, the response coming out un-recognize by human eyes/ not understandable word. Hope you can share any ideas how to solve
Try it using another baudrate. This module comes with different baudrate.

Try with another baud rate

It's not like that. Actually you can use any sim card. The gsm module uses only 2g network. If your sim card can make phone call and message in 2g network then you can use it. Basically all 3g/4g/5g sim works in 2g network. So don't worry about it. Your 4g sim will 100% work.

It happens because your module is working in different baudrate. Just change the baudrate in code and try again.

Is this method work on sim900l? When I tried to call my sim that is connected to my GSM module it's ringing back but when put the AT and sending sms command in the Arduino ide It didn't text back to my phone and only random characters show in serial monitor
I think your module is working on different baudrate. Just try the same thing by changing the baudrate

Just change the baudrate. Your module is working on different baudrate because of that it's not showing anything in 9600 baudrate

It only works on 1g cellular network. If your sim works 1g network then this module will work.
Will Airtel 4g sim work with Gsm module 900a
If your sim card can provide network in 1g condition then it will work
My status led still blinking fast when i operate it can you help me please?
Ignore the led. Just check is the module can receive call. Some module works fine but the network status led blink fast.

your module is working on different baudrate. Find out the perfect baudrate by changing it in code and serial monitor.

It happens because your module is working in different baudrate. Just change the baudrate in code and try again.

I have tried the SIM900A and the SIM800L, The SIM800L can't register to network, i believe the antenna is weak i can only get 1 network (but i was able to receive SMS even not registered) i wasn't able to send SMS with it, the sim900A is sending strange answer even it works to send AT command or CPIN command. It's not stable i won't advice anyone to use this module. The SIM800L is working perfectly with SERIAL (I have put an UART to directly talk in COM) but as same as the 900L it's too weak for antenna (can only get Orange in Bangkok).
PS : the powering was done by a stabilized professionnal power source.
Results : Waste of time & Going back to HSDPA dongle (5$).
