However, the switching capability is often controlled by the mobile carrier, and the module should be able to handle the switch seamlessly

the wiring does not seem to work for me. The SIM900 seems to work if it is directly connected to the arduino 5V. althought I red thatt his should be avoided... but it works. however this means that theres no power for other sensors

I tried on the breadboard and cannot get enough current.... also if I connect directly to the 5 volt I am left with nothing for the other sensor I want to hook to the arduino... I need an external power supply...
