I weld on heavy equipment daily and sometimes you're limited on what can be done in the field. It is what it is.. when they want something done txt book its back to the shop. You're doing fine man.
Should bring some extra plate in your truck at all times. I always carry 3/8 and 1/2 plate for jobs like this. Then you can fab some new plates for that and make it look better and last longer. But that should last long enough for him to get the job done and then you can get it fixed 100%
That is a good idea! I generally only do maybe 10-15 mobile welding jobs a year i don't really advertise it as part of my services offered mostly just word of mouth.
Dude those things are ran until it has every plug nickel run out of them. Then they break and it then becomes an emergency. Low downtime and constant abuse means frantic day when shit breaks.
@@clementsmallengine4833 Haha! Man I am not going to hold that against you or the machine! Heard that saying all my life. Some best folks i ever met in my life were gingers.
No no no! That was all bad! I know its a hurry up and get it done but that thing needed a ton of plate thrown at it. Like cut out new boss mounds and fish plate over top of that. Not a bunch of wide ass stress fracture hillbilly weaves!
Just a tip: viewers like to see the actual work not just a video of the finished product
The repair was sufficient. It was good as the rest of the machine.

@@sparksmobilerepair4025 thanks man!
I'm not going to ask you for the exact amount you charged for this job, but can you say a rough amount as to what you charged for this job?
In my area it's 150$ an hour for site work.

That's kinda funny as it's still working today. 💪
Broooo, where’s your video showing us how to do it right? We need more than just words, which is probably more than what you have.
