    When I was living full-time in London I used to go down Bishops Avenue on a bus. I used to look at the houses. I reckon many of the Bishops Avenue crowd made their money by, amongst other things, tithing to a church or a synagogue. Memories! :)

      Yes the Towers originally offered at 25 million in the 90s. Eventually sold for 15 million to the Saudi royal family.

    While my Croydon location won't be on the scale of this ,my equivalent is Bishops Walk, a private cul-de-sac in The Addington Hills of Shirley Hills Road..About 33 properties built and crossing The Addington Palace Golf Course the price ranges are from just under a million to nearly five million. The former Arsenal and England footballer Ian Wright once lived in one of them.

    The only house on that road which seems tasteful and homely is Heath Hall. The road is generally ghastly and a permanent building site. I’m not sure why you’d want to live on a building site if you had that much money, which is why I suppose they don’t and these houses are often left dormant for years.

    It's ridiculous indeed ! Busy street enough but many of them unoccupied well. Very sad... Someday... It's street needs such a good figure to be a rule model to make those people want to join together. Still my graduate degree in university of Oxford is the main priority. 🌐🇬🇧❤️

    • @24Roxyx
      @24Roxyx ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be great of you're quite a noisy person with no one else on the street to complain about noise. I reckon most of them are just investment properties owned by wealthy Russians and Arabs overseas.

    Lots of comments saying this is a bad location and small gardens. Not really true, to own properties/land this size within London (7mi from Central Ldn.) is unheard of.
    Problem is that owners don't maintain their properties. At least 16 are derelict, only 3 houses were/are fully occupied according to one resident who was asked around 10 years ago.
    The owners don't care, it's telling that most houses are owned by offshore accounts... sad really because the street COULD be beautiful.

    Bishop's Avenue is depressing. A lot of abandoned lots, like Detroit. The fancy new-builds are ugly. If I had millions, I certainly wouldn't spend it there.

  • @hayleylouise3206

    This place is utterly soul less. Perfect example of “money can’t buy you class” what a horrible location.

    • @tilerman
      @tilerman ปีที่แล้ว

      It really is soulless, your right. Have you been there? I've worked on a couple and drive up and down it regularly. We all like different things and want different things in life but for the life of me i cannot see the appeal of the properties or the area. I've worked in some huge properties in London and many of them feel cold, empty and devoid of character, it's very hard to make such huge buildings 'cosy' and inviting and lived in if you know what i mean.

    • @hayleylouise3206
      @hayleylouise3206 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tilerman No I have not had the pleasure of visiting this area. I agree people have different tastes and like different things. But I think the clue is in the title “billionaires”. These houses have been built simply because they have the money and means to do so. It’s a display of pure wealth and the more ostentatious the more it feeds their egos. The fact that they are abandoned proves this point, to me anyway, that they were never truly cared for and merely an expression of wealth.

    Unbelievable. Looks like a dump. Youd think they would take care and cherish their homes / surroundings. Ive seen nicer properties and surroundings in other countries at a fraction of the cost. Wtf is happening to the UK seriously.
