  • Take a minute to check the neck/body connection when impulse buying that "vintage" archtop to avoid the inevitable buyers remorse that comes with a $100 guitar needing a $300 neck reset.

Fantastic episode! So much knowledge being shared. Log Inn Matchbook cover is legendary. Reverend Peyton and the Big Damn Band is awesome. I don't have enough thumbs to give this episode the approval it deserves. Can't wait to see how the guitar turns out.

I came here because I wanted tips to fix up my Yamaha fg200 (it has a lot of sentimental value to me as my first guitar and survived a house fire) but I don't think I have the balls to pull the neck with a rachet strap and hold it over a stovetop. You are a madman and scare me in the best way possible. Love the lesson though.

The intent of the lesson was achieved. Forget what anybody says about the general value of the Yamaha FG200, remember why it is valuable to you and move on to the next step while remembering this garbage will work on a flat top and if you do it I will be flashing a disclaimer while praying for you son

Great tips... unfortunately I have a gig tonight and don't have a watermelon. Watermelon season is darn near 3 months from now. What do I do? Help!😅

Setting the guitar face down onto a flat surface and supporting the guitar at the neck and tail end with some kind of caul or block would have been easier in my opinion. With that arrangement you could then simply add the glue into the joint and add some weights onto the body near the neck joint. Great video overall. Learned a lot.

you are a riot, you should write a book with all the amazing phrases and words you use and mis use. love your show and plan to L bracket my fg 230 yamaha 12 string.

That was great, like everything but the "L" brackets. Subscribed.

Don't know when you made this video, some neck resets can cost $500 if it needs a bridge replacement or adjustment. Yeah, anyone trying to save a $300-500 guitar is not gonna have that much more for a neck reset unless he is just some weird genius musician... Thank ye, neighbor.

This is so haphazard... crazy ....
Put a hook through the hole on the sound hole , across the sound board (lol) , hook onto the main cross brace, then put it over steam (waiting to see the glue on the whole neck block, sides, and upper back just fly apart..
Priceless.. sad part is some people will watch this and think its legit.. Ah hahaha

Man, you are pretty GOOD! You ought to go to the middle east or Russia or somethin and maybe distract them from all that war and killin and give em a few laughs...Short of bringing peace on earth, you shocked a brain cell or two and I figyre I can reset the neck on an old Swedish Goya without spending a lot of dough which ain't possible anyway...Thank ye...
