  • In our video we walk from the glorious Porthluney beach taking the South West Coast Path towards Mevagissey. Some walk books rate this section as tough! Find out how we tackled the ups and downs before eventually arriving at Dodman Point.
    A wonderful walk, full of beautiful scenery and challenging inclines, rewarded with breathtaking views at Dodman Point.
    This walk is a 5 mile circular walk , graded as moderate, and rises to a height of 370 ft at the top of Dodman Point.

    What a walk...looked quite strenuous (uphill climbs), but exhilarating and so worth the views. Loving the visual puns with the fanfare...more please!

    Another delightful fairytale of a Cornish walk by the two piskys.

    Dude...........That was a Marg Simpson hair dew moment Andrew. LOL. Always take the hard path on a water crossing, and always let the gates beat you up. LOL. I would have to guess 4 Sarahs at the cross, and about 30 doggies. Looked like a fun, but challenging trail with all the mud. 👍

    Thanks for another lovely video! Porthluney, Caerhays and Dodman all spectacular places. Did a similar walk a few years back - a bit longer maybe - as far as Gorran Haven and back via Gorran - quite knackering, you forget how up and down the South coast is! There was a horrible shipwreck off Dodman in the 60s, a pleasure boat called The Darlwyne went down with 31 passengers and crew.

      We will be walking from Mevagissey/Gorran side sometime so that we can tick off another section of our glorious coastline - still plenty of miles we have not walked yet! Sarah :)

      He always makes us giggle with the energy he puts into his digging. It's like a light bulb goes on in his head when his paws feel sand - 'I must dig!' Sarah :)

    Очень интересный и насыщенный маршрут, и довольно сложный, с подъемами и спусками. Но какой потрясающий вид на мыс Додман! А замок Кархейс…!!! Просто чудо!!!

      @@CornishWalkingTrails To be honest it was much nicer when I ran the shop in Marazion. Opening the bedroom curtains to see The Mount every day was enough to get me through a long day. Loved it.

    Truly one of my favourite parts of Cornwall. And I love it when you take your beloved doggy with you for the adventure. Caerhays is a magical place. Mentioned of course in the later books of Poldark with the love affair between Jeremy and Cuby Trevanion! I miss Poldark. Wish they would resurrect it with The Stranger from the Sea, but think it will be quite a while before another series is planned. Hope poor old Andrew's ''Bubble'' is not off centre any more:-)))) What an up and down day.....and that mud, oh my!!! I'm amazed actually that it wasn't even muddier given the deluges of rain we have had recently. Believe me, Kent is not much better at the mo! J x

    • @CornishWalkingTrails
      @CornishWalkingTrails  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it will be a while before they feel the need to recreate Poldark! We were wondering if there would be a Daphne Du Maurier revival ... you never know! Sarah :)

    Now Andrew, don't get a swelled ego or anything, but there was a point in video where you reminded me of Paul Newman from the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. :)
    Really fun video. I think it's always windy in Cornwall?!

    Hi Sarah and Andrew! I am happy to be a subscriber. Please may I request you to do a video on Pencarrow House and Gardens.

    • @CornishWalkingTrails
      @CornishWalkingTrails  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Noel, Subscribing is free for you and we do not receive a payment for it! We have planned out our videos for the next few weeks but Pencarrow isn't on our list at the moment. It is also privately owned and I am not sure about their policy on videoing, compared to the National Trust who are generally happy for video footage. It is a Doc Martin film location and we have toyed with the idea, just not followed it through. Keep watching! Sarah :)

    Harold Pinter was billeted at Caerhays as an evacuee during the Second World War. Andrew somewhat reminds me of the Swedish actor and comedian Nils Poppe, who is best remembered for his brilliant performance in Ingmar Bergman's Magnus Opus 'The Seventh Seal' (1957).
