I’ve always been curious about the general world building and changes through the ages. Doing a video about the lands of Dark Souls and their evolution through the times/games as well as what ends up ultimately where could be pretty neat.
I was just thinking this, like this is how crestfallen knows lore even though he never leaves firelink shrine, Hawkshaw was there telling stories and crestfallen was only sort of listening lolol
Aye, this is awesome dude! I love it! Don't worry about anyone who seems to think I invented bedtime stories and keep up the great work! I look forward to being able to sleep to Dark Souls lore, God knows I can't fall asleep to my own voice! 😅
@man with a username There's nothing more obnoxious than a youtuber who gets salty when other content creators make similar videos. Remember the Fine Bros? Yeah, that kind of behavior will destroy your career. Its not like this guy can copyright the bed time story genre lmao.
Thanks so much man! Seeing how great your series has been, we realised people falling asleep to our videos might in fact be a good thing! Glad we can help

I absolutely love this series idea, your videos have been so helpful in getting to sleep lately, plus I could listen to Dark Souls lore endlessly. I’d be super keen in you even moving on to the sequel games at some point, as long as we keep getting lore content, but this bedtime stuff is amazing and relaxing, thank you :))
Here I was falling asleep to their normal lore videos only for them to come out with fall asleep to lore videos! I seriously love y’all’s work! It’s just so peaceful and surreal! You can get lost in dark souls the game written lore and now hawkshaw lore videos!
For over 2 years lorevideos and etc have taken the role of reading in bed or long train/busstrips. But it is a bit treacherous for if for some reason I cant have my soothing moonlight of lore I might have trouble falling asleep. I belive its most about emptying my head from thoughts and letting it focus on imagining the story and thus slipping slowly to sleep
OMG THIS IS PERFECT THANK YOU FOR THIS SERIES!! I literally fall asleep to ur lore videos several nights a well. I love how insightful you are! This will help me sleep so well. Feel free to use hub themes and chill soundtrack bits if you think it fits :)

I listen to regular lore before bed and this set up is smart for those who just listen before bed but I also still watch the videos too which can be counterintuitive but I can’t help it, this is a good setup and I’m down to listen but you should maybe also do a b-track to these videos with footage but I know that takes a lot more time and effort and understand if you wouldn’t want to do that
thank you so much for this! your vids are my favourite to fall asleep to, I always find them so interesting so my mind is preoccupied (stops the mental chatter that keeps me awake) while being so calm and relaxing that I can listen and drift off. Honestly made such a difference for my sleep the past few months so thank you for your content and keep up the great work
I always watched your long lore dives to sleep for some time until i switched over to bonfire sidechat to find more content that talks about souls lore in such a calm way as you. Really happy with the new videos of your channel and always impressed how you find more topics to talk about a 11 year old game.
I play the time line video literally every night before bed to fall asleep to. The running sound I hear on what I presume is your character is comforting because I know I’ll be fast asleep soon it never fails.
Hey HawkShaw can you please do more of these, I know it’s like been a year but I really enjoyed this video in particular I usually sleep to your videos anyways because of the narration but this one has been the best one so far
I don't know if you ever intend on covering the other games, but the Sun Princess ring description in DS3 makes it very clear that Gwynevere left Anor Londo and had "several heavenly children". We also know from DS3 that Gwynevere eventually became the queen of Lothric.
@@crestfallenwarrior5719 Yeah. Read the description for Divine Blessing, "The Queen of Lothric, married to the former King Oceiros, was initially revered as a goddess of fertility and bounty. After giving birth to Ocelotte, her youngest, she quietly disappeared.
Hawkshaw, you became my favorite lore masters with the persistence you have shown us, I don`t know any other Dark souls content creator who continue to discuss the DS lore in new light such as you, the day you stop this is the day we will all go hollow :/
I literaly listen to this before bed but couldn't fall asleep by how much it got my gears turning xD great work with more new revelations and theories!
Thank you hawkshaw, I have to wake up at 4:30 am most mornings and falling asleep to your videos have become a routine and puts fantastical dream in my head. You are doing Gods work.
as someone who used your videos to find sleep more often than i can remember, this is the best thing to happen for my sleeping troubles. thank you alot Hawkshaw
This was beautiful. One thing I've always thought about is: who is the church in the undead parish dedicated to? I've always found the statue in there very interesting but also, more than that, the engravings on its side. They show a man, a lion, a goat offering an egg (probably to the statue). I'd like to know if there are any theories about that
Yes, it is pretty much my favorite area in this game. Im assuming its Velka, since there is a statue of her and the priest after you defeat the Gargoyles. But i dont quiet have the explanation for the engravings...
About relations, I'd love to see a revisit of Havel and Seethe and the Dragons and so on. Why Havel the Rock? Or rock-like as in the Japanese text and does that point to any relation with dragons? How much time has passed between the war against the dragons and Gwyn's linking and how much time between that and the chosen undead arriving in Anor Londo?
I'd actually be interested in the implications of the endings: we know that linking the fire benefits the gods but in DS3 you get the option to usurp the flame or let it die out. You could also probably inference that Champion Gundyr's shrine is a representation of ending the flame as he never met his fire keeper and we also find her eyes which then lead to the end or usurpation endings. Might as well look into the lord of hollows ending since Vendric is a hollow king in DS2. Could be some interesting stuff there
To add to that I think Ariandel could also be a representation of the end of fire on a longer timeline since the world is frozen over and rotting and after you defeat Friede her boss arena and a few other areas start burning. Which could imply that linking the flame essentially resets the timeline and ending the fire causes the world to grow dark and eventually freeze and rot away. I'm also pretty sure it's at least implied that Friede was an ashen one or at least a fire keeper as a couple npc's say things like "you smell like that woman" which I believe is a Gael line but I don't recall offhand, this also stands with earlier Souls games implying that the Chosen Undead story is a myth and it's just a way for the gods to get the flame linked while putting in next to no effort on their part since if Friede and the player character are ash not to mention the other undead then you've got a dozen or more soldiers that can't die and only need to win once for the fire to be linked again and the whole process starts again
It’s great to see u guys back. I truly think Anastacia is the daughter of Fina aka Gwynevere, the Aphrodite character. She comes for Astora that land of nobles and I believe she claimed to be a daughter of Gwynevere, she was forcefully made into an undead, made into a fire keeper, had her tongue cut, and her legs broken. Remember she is contrasted with Rosaria in DS3.
If Anastacia is undead, as her dialogue suggests, why does she not simply resurrect like everyone else? Why is the black eye orb required? What even _is_ the black eye orb? Is there any explanation at all as to how the orbs work?
I just wanted to tell you that rewatching these lore videos has giving me music-ptsd + everybody does uses them. And it is good music but not for that many times Thanks for the work 👍
