Exactly what I just did! Had some good fairtex gloves for the past three years and now they're cracking and tearing and all busted up. Just ordered some cletos
I just finished breaking down my everlast’s I feel I earned these gloves now. Been leveling up in the gym. Just got them in the mail today. Same color but 18oz
I found that the weird thumb placement and super tight thumb piping issues from the Cletos are batch specific. The ones that I got a month ago were from an older batch, and had the thumb issues. The newest pair that came in today had no thumb problems. My older pair had the logo cracking and chipping off easily, while the newer pair doesn't have that issue. I noticed that there is a slight drop of quality in the newer glove's leather, as it felt a little bit thinner and the grain of the leather was not as pronounced. The red on the newer glove isn't as vibrant as the older pair.
Carlo - your reviews are always appreciated. I bought a pair of these gloves about a year ago. The gloves are works of art and built like tanks. I liked the hand compartment and the padding but had an issue with the forearms being much too tight. I'm 6ft tall, 175 lbs and my forearms are not that large. My gloves were also very heavy. They were supposed to be 16 oz and felt more like 20 oz. I did not order mine directly from Cleto Reyes. Maybe that would make a difference. If they had fit and were on weight they would have been my favorite gloves.
Reyes are notorious for being overweight, its a real problem they need to correct already! I have a pair of 14 oz that weigh more than my 16 oz Sabas. Cant even use them to spar with as my gym requires 16 oz. My 14 oz actually weigh just over 17 oz and I ordered them directly from Cleto Reyes.
Yes I just got some 16 oz and ther nearly 19 oz so I’m probably gonna send them back there just way to heavy for me to spar in as I’m a smaller fighter
I promised myself not to buy Reyes once I bought winning and grant gloves . BEcuz of the lack of padding in the original sparring glove 16oz. But with this review and Reyes responding to me confirming the new training gloves are more padded and better .. I just ordered a 16oz tiger orange color the color of my gym in Seattle.. excited for them thanks for the inspiration to buy them
No problem brother, I hope you find them to be a better option than before as they’ve definitely improved them from the pair I reviewed in this video from the last I used 8 years ago
Can you please make a video or explain the difference between the cleto Reyes training gloves, cleto Reyes extra padding, cleto Reyes super bag gloves, and the cleto Reyes sparring gloves?? I want to buy a pair but Idk which ones
I pulled the trigger and bought white ones like these after this vid and I LOVE them! The pop it gives on the heavybag. The weight is just right. It seemed a little heavy @ the beginning but im getting used to them. Ive had them for about a month and theyre breaking in pretty good, still a little ways to go. (10 rnds 5x's a week on heavybag) thanks for the great reviews bro 👍👍👍
@@strikeoneboxing4384 My wrist and hands have been achey lately but i think its because I've been doing too many rounds on the heavy bag. 10 rounds 5x a week. Ive cut it down to 4 rounds and the rest shadowboxing and i notice a difference in my hands not hurting as much.
Thats great to hear your hand wasn’t sliding side to side in the hand compartment. I haven’t been able to use Reyes in the past due to having small hands and that was always an issue and made them somewhat unusable. Hope to own a pair someday soon possibly in a 10 or 12 oz to be sure about the hand size
I remember the terrible thumb placement from back in the day when "ratethisgear" reviewed them. That thumb damn near folded in half when he made a fist. Lol. I still prefer the extra padded version though. Just wish it came in lace up.
@渣客Zach I only use them to hit the bag but I’m sure they’ll work for sparring also. The gloves give great feedback when hitting the bag specifically that pop noise. They’re made from a high quality leather that you can really smell. You won’t be disappointed
I've been binging hella of ur review videos cuz I wanna get the right glove as my first. I told my dad that I wanna get into boxing and he just ordered a pair of Cleto Reyes Velcro training gloves.
Thank you for the review, I bought reyes training gloves in the same color. BTW you really should give affiliate links for the gloves you review, I would like to support you with my next purchase.
Wondering if anyone has any input/help on a weird situation I have regarding these gloves. I ordered a pair from official Amazon store. One glove ended up basically missing the "slot" in the fingertips that you kind of hook your fingertips behind, so I ordered the exact same pair again (12oz, silver, velcro). The next pair that arrived were VERY different. They look different, feel different, in many ways. One pair weighs almost exactly 12oz each glove, the others were ~16oz (to be clear, they are both labelled 12oz, as I had ordered, but their actual weights when on the scale are 12oz vs 16oz). The lighter pair (the ones that ended up weighing almost exactly the correct 12oz they are supposed to be) have a more noticeable leather grain, a much thinner and less soft foam, not as shiny looking, larger ventilation holes in the thumbs, the "12oz" label is a darker black font, the end of the velcro strap is a rounded end (vs. a slightly more "square" end on the other pair), a smaller and less pronounced font/characters for the stamp that they put on the wrist of each gloves, and more. But the biggest difference is the look and feel of the foam. I'm trying to figure out if one of these pairs is perhaps a counterfeit, or if one may be an older model and Cleto Reyes changed how they make the gloves, or any other reason why these gloves are so drastically different. Overall they both seem to have very high standards in terms of the stitching/quality, but they are clearly very different in other ways.
Always appreciate your reviews. Very helpful since it's near impossible to buy these gloves in person. I prefer a 12 oz glove for bag work. Found an online shop that has the Reyes Traditional Training gloves just like the pair you reviewed in blue but in 10 0z (which seems a bit rare). Do you think the 10's would get me close to 12oz given Reyes reputation for overweight gloves?
Thanks for the review! I was wondering if the review would be more alive if you would demonstrate using the gloves on a bag? We would hear their pop, too. Please keep on doing your good work!
Great review !👏 i seen the other vid comparing them with the Casanovas. I can attest that the piping started peeling on my black Cleto Reyes gloves after years of use. Other than that, they are very comfortable to use and protect the hands especially when doing bag work.
Great review mate I’m 95 kg and 6ft I do prefer a lighter glove for bag work so I’m torn between 12 oz and 14oz what would you recommend it’s mainly for bag work
Would u recommend the lace ups or the Velcro I have Laceup gloves and lace loops and if I was to get the lace ups I would do the lace loops on the Reyes. But I’m not sure which one either Velcro or lace up
Lace ups traditionally offer better wrist support because you can get a much tighter form fitting feel with laces. The downside is typically someone has to lace them for you, and unlace them. Lace n loops are a nice supplement but still don’t replicate someone lacing them for you because the top laces are very hard to pull tight even with lace n loops. Velcro is nice for convenience but doesn’t get the same support/ wrist feel as lace ups.
Do u think a 12 oz pair of Reyes for bag & mitt work and a 16 oz pair of their extra padding model for sparring would make a very long lasting high quality duo?
Just got these gloves in 12oz. Quality is definitely top notch but they are way heavier than my Topboxer win1s in 12oz. The Reyes is significantly thicker, heavier, stiffer and harder than my win1s and I can definitely see why the Reyes will hurt your sparring partner.
Is it comfortable when new? I've read there is a break in period. Would you know if this is bigger than Fairtex BGV1? I'm thinking of buying Cleto Reyers.
@@csquaredboxing Awesome, those Titles are the most underrated gloves ever imo! I wish Cleto Reyes didn't have such a bad reputation for sparring because even though they have gotten a lot more protective in recent years, at least my gym people will think you're a dick for sparring in them, even if they're 18oz. If it weren't for that, I'd use Reyes because some people at my gym still use them for sparring (and get tons of shit for it) and they don't hurt noticeably more than any other gloves and I think they're hands down the highest quality glove for under $200
Yeah Title has been making some damn good gloves for the past few years, you just have to know which ones to get, and to stay away from lol. Reyes have definitely improved and you're right, getting hit in the face with them I dont notice the difference from another type of sparring glove. Especially with headgear on.
Carlo, thank you the detailed reviews. They are very informative. I wantedto ask around what time did Cleto Reyes make the changes to this glove? I'm planning to order some, and wanted to make sure I was getting the more recent version. Thank you.
Thanks for the support, i truly appreciate it! As far as a timeline on when they made the changes I honestly couldn’t tell you, this was my first pair of their training/ velcro versions in years. My previous training versions I purchased maybe 7 years ago. So sometime between then and now i believe they slowly modified the glove based on both customer feedback and the overall glove market going towards more form-fitting gloves. My previous red lace up models had very soft foam to where you could feel the knuckles go through and a more awkward feeling thumb and hand compartment. These velcro versions feel like the thumb is more natural and the hand compartment is more comfortable overall. Hope that helps!
I just bought these gloves. The quality is really nice. I was wondering, is it normal for the seam on the thumb attachment to press down on tge bottom of your thumb? Like a tight pressure making it feel like your thumb is cutting circulation? Will breaking in the gloves fix that issue?
Yes you get that sometimes with Reyes which some people have more than others. It will eventually break in, or you can use a towel or shirt to stuff in the glove to loosen it up.
I know these gloves last a really long time, but what about the Velcro? I just bought a pair and am wondering if I should've bought the lace up version.
Hello Carlo, i recently purchased the 12oz version because i wanted gloves that weigh 14oz. They ended up weighing at 16.4oz, i dont mind. However the problem is that they are extremely tight that it hurts my hands and cuts off blood circulation. Is this just part of the break in period or should i go for a bigger size?
Carlo quick question, are these more roomy then the “héroe” version? And for bag work do you recommend the 12oz or 14oz? I’m, around 5’5 and have thick hands, please let me know, thank you
Hi Carlo, I have a question regarding the size of the gloves. I have very small hands (wrist to the tip of my middle finger is about 16/17cm). Do you think that the gloves will fit my hands? I weigh around 70kg (154lb). I appreciate your answer. Greetings from Germany.
Hey Carlo, I’m planning on buying a pair of Cleto Reyes lace up gloves for bag work. I want the 18 oz but do you think that the 12 oz have the same amount or padding in them? Thanks in advance brotha!
I got my Cletos 16oz recently, according to their website sizing chart I’m in the limit of 14oz and 16oz. I went for the 16oz because I wear hand wraps at all times, so I figured 16s will fit more comfortable. Anyway, I’m feeling there are two different parts at the fingertips of the glove where I could place my fingertips, the first one you can feel it right when you first put the gloves on, but you could “jump” that first fingertip “chamber” and go deeper into the glove so that you can’t really go further on. Idk if you know what I’m talking about based on this explanation, but if you do, where should I stop? At the first trap right after the knuckle bar, or should I jump it and go all the way in to that area where the padding gets rugged? Hope you can tell what I’m talking about cause honestly it’s kind of confusing.
Quick question for a friend who wants to get into amateur fights, VENUM HAMMER Pro or this one( both in 16 0z ) for a power puncher(heavy weight guy in HW category , athletic build ) , for heavy bags , mitts and sparring ,both velcro version including thumb support, wrist support, durablity.Which boosts confidence to punch harder you know initially to get that feel for going harder in training as he is trying to climb the ladder in his league. which you recommend overall as you have more experience? For practise sessions obviously as harder the practice easier the fight ! Kindly reply brother!!
The one and only thing that has kept me away from Reyes is the weight issue. They are ALWAYS HEAVY! Most gyms require 16oz gloves for sparring and when a 16oz glove weights in at 19oz, that's no bueno for me!
Could be used? Yes. Should they be used for Muay Thai? No. They're not structured with a flexible/ short cuff for clinching or padding on the palms/ back of hand for blocking strikes other than punches.
@@presentelaw 16 ounce were good from the start. Recently I bought 14 ounce and It caused pain on my big finger where it bends it went away after couple of weeks using them. Quality gloves. My other favorite mx everlast
@@presentelaw I have Fairtex F DAY microfibre gloves and Rival bag gloves that is pretty expensive and now collecting dust. I will never buy synthetic leather gloves again. I'm was tempted to buy Fairtex real leather gloves I think the one you mentioned. My 14 oz fairtex feels very roomy compared to Cletos.
Would these gloves work well for muay thai or kickboxing? I'm looking to buy a single pair of gloves to do it all from sparring, heavy bag and pad work to clinching. Since I can only buy one pair, would they be a good all rounder for all types of use?
@@csquaredboxing Thanks, I've never heard of them before. I really like the Cleto Reyes and want to get those ideally. I've just started taking boxing and kickboxing group classes so I want to get a great pair that's versatile because I don't know which direction my fightsport experience will take me.
You are 100% correct Loma was using the 8 ounce Hammers for his pro fight, which he also injured his hands in (although hasn’t been disclosed if due to pre existing injury or during fight) but anyhow, the Hammers are definitely a punchers glove, which during an actual fight a lot of guys prefer over something protective. In sparring, it’s opposite, you’re not trying to inflict a ton of damage on your opponent. You want gloves that are more forgiving so you can both spar without sustaining injuries (as much as possible) and allow you guys to learn from the session.
Ill add those to the list! Adidas makes good boxing boots, although you have to be mindful that some of them are based off of their wrestling shoes and the outsole sometimes has this curve at the bottom that might roll your ankle. But as far as quality goes they make good quality shoes, mainly because they make shoes for all types of sports so the design/ research is there.

Hey Carlo! I am looking to buy try some Mexican gloves, what’s your recommendation cleto reyes training gloves or the everlast Mx training gloves. I am looking to use these primary for bag work but might also want to use for sparring in the future. The 3 aspects I care about are 1. Comfort 2. Performance 3. Durability
Hi, I've tried both MX and Reyes these two months, share with you my feel from Comfort perspective: Reyes Extra Padding > Everlast MX (Hook&Loop) > Reyes Hook&Loop Training Gloves
Hello sir, I'm 5'6 146 lbs. I've have had hand issues (surgeries and broken hands) due to being being small in frame but having a heavy punch, would you recommend the Reyes 12 oz or 14 oz for heavy bag work.? These gloves are pricey so i want to make the right choice. Thank you for your review and expert opinion. Looking forward to hearing from you!
awsum review, i am very concerned about the padding issue everyone talks about with the reyes cs i just bought a pair of 16 oz its already shipped with cleto reyes mitts too and handwraps, are they really bad on the heavy bag cs i am going to be using them as training gloves ? i dont have any problems with my hands and i like to have good feeback but i am a heavy hitter and a heavyweight i dont want a glove to hurt my hands and im worried.
I think you’ll be fine, these gloves have improved their padding IMO and are have a better hand compartment now. If you do need extra protection you can always use knuckle pads to give that extra layer if you need.
@@csquaredboxing I like Cleto gloves, but they are known for their hardness and I'm looking for bag and sparring gloves. If the new Cleto are softer, perhaps I'll get them. Thanks again for your help.
Not as comfy as winning but more definitely more comfortable than previous models. Like many mexican gloves they’re pretty stiff when new, so there’s a longer break in period compared to winnings. Some people hate it, some don’t mind, just depends on your preferences.
I'd say about equal, it just depends on what style of glove you prefer. Reyes is more compact and the padding is more of a punchers style. New Sporting is a larger glove and the padding is more forgiving.
Looking for new training gloves. Can you help me out with some? I'm new to boxing and these will be my first gloves. Kinda looking for one pair for both bag and occasional sparring
Yes, it’s slightly more compact but I don’t care for the hybrid lace up system as the laces interfere with the velcro and vice versa and it doesn’t increase the wrist support imo.
Logo peeled off the glove after 2 rounds on the bag. Also, that elastic strap sewed in makes it impossible to get your hands inside. I miss the first 2 minutes of my class trying to wrestle them on.
@@BraydenOgs mine were the black 14oz with extra padding. The website said "NEW" by the thumbnail of the glove. Same ones you got? I returned them yesterday. I emailed them and they said they want them back for inspection. I hope I don't get charged 25% restocking.
Generally yes, but it also depends on the gym and sparring partner. Some boxing clubs are weird about certain gloves, and some couldn’t care less. But I’ve been hit with Reyes gloves before and the hit hurt just as much as ringside imf gloves so there’s that
i own a pair of hayabusa t3s. im debating between cleto reyes training and sabas proseries. i dont like rival due to their brand being all over the glove like venom. if money is no issue, would u pick cletos or sabas?
f O i own both, and prefer the reyes simply cause of the quality and the feedback i get in each punch. Ive also seen recent comments about the drop in quality of sabas gear. My pair of sabas lasted about a year before the stitching started to pop while my reyes had its interior lining torn after 3 years, but i stitched it back. Not gonna lie, both are comfortable just prefer the quality on reyes
Reyes definitely better quality than sabas, but sabas is more comfortable and the knuckle padding is more protective. Reyes is still pretty comfortable and the padding is a tad less protective but gives better pop and feedback than Sabas so it really depends on what your needs are.
I want to buy same gloves on mexican flag colour i like that colour but i m afraid that will not be same shape and i order in this colour too 16 oz. In this colour look more compact. I see other and look so big. I ordered from forza sport amazon. Is that ok?

Oh and the foam over the knuckle on these newer gloves is also more dense for better protection as well.
@@csquaredboxing Thank you. That's very helpful. I appreciate it.
Since when did they redesign their training glove??
How did their old after heavy use
I don’t understand cletos, I had a pair of I bought about 5 years ago and they sucked. Are these the new better ones, my old ones were so thin
These ones are better than my older ones i bought back in 2011. So many variables between then and now that could change the gloves.
Are the Cleto Reyes extra padding wrist Velcro shorter in length then these tradition hook and loop gloves?
They have a slightly shorter cuff yes
I just bought these gloves. The quality is really nice. I was wondering, is it normal for the seam on the thumb attachment to press down on tge bottom of your thumb? Like a tight pressure making it feel like your thumb is cutting circulation? Will breaking in the gloves fix that issue?
Yes you get that sometimes with Reyes which some people have more than others. It will eventually break in, or you can use a towel or shirt to stuff in the glove to loosen it up.
csquaredboxing ty! 👊🏽
I know these gloves last a really long time, but what about the Velcro? I just bought a pair and am wondering if I should've bought the lace up version.
Just depends on how frequently you put on/ remove the gloves, but the velcro should last a good while
Hello Carlo, i recently purchased the 12oz version because i wanted gloves that weigh 14oz. They ended up weighing at 16.4oz, i dont mind. However the problem is that they are extremely tight that it hurts my hands and cuts off blood circulation. Is this just part of the break in period or should i go for a bigger size?
Get a larger size
Carlo quick question, are these more roomy then the “héroe” version? And for bag work do you recommend the 12oz or 14oz? I’m, around 5’5 and have thick hands, please let me know, thank you
Hi Carlo, I have a question regarding the size of the gloves. I have very small hands (wrist to the tip of my middle finger is about 16/17cm). Do you think that the gloves will fit my hands? I weigh around 70kg (154lb).
I appreciate your answer.
Greetings from Germany.
another quality review ! quick thing , the link for the gloves is broken!
Thanks for the heads up!
Hey Carlo,
I’m planning on buying a pair of Cleto Reyes lace up gloves for bag work. I want the 18 oz but do you think that the 12 oz have the same amount or padding in them? Thanks in advance brotha!
Probably less than 18 but still should be good for bag work but not sparring
Does velcro gloves give you the same wrist support as lace up gloves? And if not is it really that much difference are is it it almost the same?
Hammers
@@csquaredboxing why so ? Pls give quick pros and cons for hammers over these & why do you RECOMMEND hammers over these bro ?
The one and only thing that has kept me away from Reyes is the weight issue. They are ALWAYS HEAVY! Most gyms require 16oz gloves for sparring and when a 16oz glove weights in at 19oz, that's no bueno for me!
For sure
Do you know what’s the official cleto Reyes website I don’t want to click on the wrong website and get fakes
@@Qlhzydid u find it
Great Brand & one of the best Boxing Gear
I agree, Reyes has always set a high standard!
Cool review, thank you. Cleto Reyes Velcro or Fairtex BGV9 and why?
Reyes, longer cuff and I prefer the padding a little more
Do you think these gloves can be used with no problem for Muay Thai?
Could be used? Yes. Should they be used for Muay Thai? No. They're not structured with a flexible/ short cuff for clinching or padding on the palms/ back of hand for blocking strikes other than punches.
Makes sense. Thanks for the reply. What about for kickboxing?🤔
I’m debating to get these or the Hayabusa T3. Which one would you prefer and why?
I prefer these over the T3 because I like the Mexican quality and don’t like the bounciness of the t3 padding
In your opinion, which glove would you prefer for bag/pad work only? One of my bags is leather and the other is the aqua bag buoy.
I like my Sabas Pro Series, Rival Guerrero, and Rival RB10
Thanks. I was using rival bag gloves with d30 but the Velcro sucks RB50
Thank you so much for the clear informative vid!!
No prob
Became my favorite gloves from the 1st second i put them on. 👍
nice!
No break-in issues?
@@presentelaw 16 ounce were good from the start. Recently I bought 14 ounce and It caused pain on my big finger where it bends it went away after couple of weeks using them.
Quality gloves.
My other favorite mx everlast
@@Filipp81 Thanks for the info. I'm deciding between Reyers and Fairtex BGV1 for my son. He has a tournament end of May.
Get the buakaw gloves
@@csquaredboxing Thanks, I've never heard of them before. I really like the Cleto Reyes and want to get those ideally. I've just started taking boxing and kickboxing group classes so I want to get a great pair that's versatile because I don't know which direction my fightsport experience will take me.
Great vid got to order these gloves
Thanks, theyre great gloves!
Cleto Reyes or Venum hammer pro ? What you will pick mostly for sparring ? :) (k-1 / boxing )
Neither are the best for sparring but I’ll give the edge to Cleto Reyes
csquaredboxing hm... confused now. Isn’t Loma was using hammers for the last fight ? Top 5 in your opinion for sparring, what would be ? Many thanks 🙏
Best for sparring currently I’d say: Winning MS500, Top Boxer Win 1, Fortress Boxing super strap, Everlast protex 3 evergel, Sabas super soft
Hey Carlo can u review the Adidas speedex boxing boots the black ones? Also how do you feel about Asics boxing boots?
Ill add those to the list! Adidas makes good boxing boots, although you have to be mindful that some of them are based off of their wrestling shoes and the outsole sometimes has this curve at the bottom that might roll your ankle. But as far as quality goes they make good quality shoes, mainly because they make shoes for all types of sports so the design/ research is there.
Hi pal ! How long do u think it actually takes to break these gloves in! I feel like mine are getting stiffer ! I have 14 oz black
Hey pal! All depends how often and how long you use them, a few weeks to a month
I got one 16 oz from amazon from some time i couldnt figure out why its so uncomfortable the fit is so bad they were nothing like the gd things i heard about cleto...i tried new cleto ones my friend got them they are completely different from mine theyr so comfortable etc . ...are mine fake??
Probably
Maybe u need to break them in how does it feel I had the same problem with cleto Reyes untill I used it for abit
I can’t choose between the metallic purple and the white cleto Reyes. What do you guys think I should get please help I’ve been thinking about this for weeks
All depends on your personal taste. White gets dirty faster so....
Just got mine yesterday. Red color and I paid 2040 pesos = 85 USd in an official dealer store in Mexico
Nice!
What’s the name of the dealer?
Would you recommend these for Kickboxing or MuayThai training/sparring?
I wouldn’t, not enough protection on the inner palm and too stiff for clinching
How hard is it to get a pair of Seyer gloves from Mexico
Just depends on if they ship international, then shouldn’t be too hard
just curious in your mx everlast you mentioned you liked them better than reyes, or are this new version better than the everlast
I like these newer Reyes gloves over the Everlast MX now since they’ve improved the glove
@@csquaredboxing cool, by the way i can see your pretty honest based on the review of canelos brand of gloves. great review I was thinking of purchasing a pair but after your review I changed my mind
How would these holdup for heavybag work? I want to get 12 oz Reyes for the bags but I’m not sure if they will last
As far as durability goes they’re great, it just depends on the kind of padding you prefer
csquaredboxing alright coo It was between the Reyes and winnings but I think winnings are too overpriced so ima go with the Reyes
csquaredboxing is it normal if one glove is a little bit bigger or wider than the other one? I bought some and the right glove is a little bit wider than the left
Where is the real cleto Reyes website, I’m looking forward to buying these very soon
www.cletoreyesboxing.com/
Whats up Carlo quick question bro... what is the diffrence between the hook and lace and hybrids?
Hook and loop is just a velcro strap.
Hybrid is velcro strap and laces combined
@@csquaredboxing thanks carlo
Do they still offer a softer padding option in 16 oz that let the knuckles sink in?
How would you rate the wrist protection?
Durability
Reyes
Spend the little extra and get the Cleto Reyes bro! You will not be disappointed and will thank us later.
Hi, I've tried both MX and Reyes these two months, share with you my feel from Comfort perspective: Reyes Extra Padding > Everlast MX (Hook&Loop) > Reyes Hook&Loop Training Gloves
Would these be the best gloves made by Cleto Reyes for the heavy bag?
Hello sir, I'm 5'6 146 lbs. I've have had hand issues (surgeries and broken hands) due to being being small in frame but having a heavy punch, would you recommend the Reyes 12 oz or 14 oz for heavy bag work.? These gloves are pricey so i want to make the right choice. Thank you for your review and expert opinion. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello sir
Carlo thanks for posting these videos. Are they true to weight (advertised) or are they lighter or heavier?
No prob, heavier
I’m interested in getting these exact gloves. How long do u think the gloves are I am looking for a glove that won’t take up my whole wrist.
awsum review, i am very concerned about the padding issue everyone talks about with the reyes cs i just bought a pair of 16 oz its already shipped with cleto reyes mitts too and handwraps, are they really bad on the heavy bag cs i am going to be using them as training gloves ? i dont have any problems with my hands and i like to have good feeback but i am a heavy hitter and a heavyweight i dont want a glove to hurt my hands and im worried.
I think you’ll be fine, these gloves have improved their padding IMO and are have a better hand compartment now. If you do need extra protection you can always use knuckle pads to give that extra layer if you need.
So, do you prefer these gloves over the extra padding version?
I'm watching your reviews and they are very helpful. Thanks!
I personally do
@@csquaredboxing I like Cleto gloves, but they are known for their hardness and I'm looking for bag and sparring gloves. If the new Cleto are softer, perhaps I'll get them. Thanks again for your help.
Are these as comfy as winnings. Is it close to the comfort?
Not as comfy as winning but more definitely more comfortable than previous models. Like many mexican gloves they’re pretty stiff when new, so there’s a longer break in period compared to winnings. Some people hate it, some don’t mind, just depends on your preferences.
which are better the extra padding or these that show in the video???
I actually like these over the extra padding, better hand compartment and the padding gives a nice pop
Would you say they are better than the new sporting goves?
I'd say about equal, it just depends on what style of glove you prefer. Reyes is more compact and the padding is more of a punchers style. New Sporting is a larger glove and the padding is more forgiving.
Looking for new training gloves. Can you help me out with some? I'm new to boxing and these will be my first gloves. Kinda looking for one pair for both bag and occasional sparring
Sabas Pro Series 16 ounce would be a good start
You should trie fire sports training gloves, It is another mexican brand that makes great gloves for veary cheap.
what do you think about hybdrid model medium size ? is it good as regular model
Those where probably fake I got the exact ones he has today and I love them they work perfectly
@@BraydenOgs these were directly from Cleto Reyes.
svt32vdohc yea I ordered them Friday I think but they where directly from them and they are great
@@BraydenOgs mine were the black 14oz with extra padding. The website said "NEW" by the thumbnail of the glove. Same ones you got? I returned them yesterday. I emailed them and they said they want them back for inspection. I hope I don't get charged 25% restocking.
svt32vdohc that sucks hope everything turns out well.
Any advice on breaking them in more quickly?
Train with them as much as you can I guess, only thing that would really make sense
Im thinking about these being my next pair of gloves
They’re great gloves for sure you won’t be disappointed
csquaredboxing
I’m sure I won’t be!
Are Mexican style gloves safe for sparring? As long as it's 16oz?
Generally yes, but it also depends on the gym and sparring partner. Some boxing clubs are weird about certain gloves, and some couldn’t care less. But I’ve been hit with Reyes gloves before and the hit hurt just as much as ringside imf gloves so there’s that
@@csquaredboxing good thing they dont care about what type of glove you have here in the Philippines, as long as its 14-16oz. Thanks man!!
i own a pair of hayabusa t3s. im debating between cleto reyes training and sabas proseries. i dont like rival due to their brand being all over the glove like venom. if money is no issue, would u pick cletos or sabas?
f O i own both, and prefer the reyes simply cause of the quality and the feedback i get in each punch.
Ive bought there pairs for training with paddings, is this a good decision ?
Yes
I want to buy same gloves on mexican flag colour i like that colour but i m afraid that will not be same shape and i order in this colour too 16 oz. In this colour look more compact. I see other and look so big. I ordered from forza sport amazon. Is that ok?
Yes that’s fine
Which do you prefer? Cleto reyes or the punch equipent mexican gloves?
Punch equipment
Which would you say are better, these or the everlast hook and loop training gloves?
These
im 60 kgs. what size gloves (reyes) should i get for bagwork 14oz or 16oz? i heard they were overweight.
i’d go 14
