@@Bigdogshaving I would go Reyes all the way but that’s because I’ve always liked them. But if you get sore after a while or have knuckle or wrist problems I’d say hayabusa.
Yep everything you said is perfect. I learnt the hard way damaging my wrist using poor quality gloves. These are night and day from other gloves . Thanks for the recommendation
I got these for my birthday back in August. Once they had worn in they felt like they were one with my hand. Only problem is you won't be able to wear any other gloves because they are all worse 💀
Hello, what would you recommend oz wise for me regarding the fit, ı think about buying 2 pairs one 10 oz velcro for training one 14 oz for sparring ? I’m 176 cm 72 kg and my knuckle circumference is 20 cm and I use 180 inch Mexican style wraps. Thank you!
🎉 Man, have you already bought the 14oz Cleto Reyes hook and loop? I'm thinking of getting either 14oz or 16oz, but a lot of people say that gloves are usually overweighted, and I'm unsure which size is better. I tend to lean towards the 14oz, but I'm concerned about them being underweight, haha. I weigh 73kg and I'm looking for gloves for sparring and bag work as well.
Height and weight doesn't really make a difference, it's all about padding, the more padding the nicer it is for your opponent. So a 10oz or 12oz for fights and 14oz or 16oz for sparring in class. 16oz is what most people get for boxing training.
There seems to be a big weight issue with these gloves being massively over weight. Is this still the case? And how did you find the wrist support? Been looking at picking up a 16oz pair. Great review 👏
We havent noticed a problem with the gloves, we think the cleto reyes gloves are one of the best in the world, alot of the gyms around our area love them. they have one of the best fits we have had in store, very comfy and supportive! go for it you wont regret getting these gloves!
We have had a few people buy them for kickboxing and they love them, Thai boxing gloves will give you extra padding for blocking kicks but its also down to personal preference
Looking to get a pair of these, but can’t decide if I need 10, 14 or 16oz. I mainly hit pads and sometimes the heavy bag. With sparring to start in about 6 months time. I feel as if 14 is the way but I am unsure.
Some people seem concerned with the thumb placement in the Reyes gloves, can you comment on that ?, is it an awkward position?, looking to buy my first pair , thanks
We have never noticed anything with the placement on the thumb, we think these are the best fitting and comfiest gloves you can use for bag/pad work or sparring
Grants are great but you unfortunately can get hold of them easily in the UK, there isnt much difference in quality between Reyes, Grants and Winning. All gloves are amazing, Reyes are the most accessible
Only boxing gloves that I can think of that are better than cleto reyes would be winning boxing gloves, cletos reyes be second, than it be like hayabusa and rivals be some great runner ups.
Winning are incredible but you are unable to get them in the UK without paying a ridiculous price on shipping. Cleto Reyes are the best gloves you can get in the UK
Hi there, The universal training gloves have lace and Velcro in one glove, we have had them in our shop before but most people prefer the Velcro Sparring Gloves
@@EnsoMartialArts hey! Thank you for relying. Just to confirm, the Velcro sparring gloves are what Cleto Reyes refer to as the “training gloves”? Because I’ve looked on their website, and there is no such thing as a “sparring glove”.
Your height and weight don’t mean a thing. Depends what you’re doing. Bag and mitts? Sparring. I get 10 or 12 for bag work and pads as I like the fed back more and more power. 16 is for sparring so it’s safer and more cushion. Punching the bag and mitts in 16z feels crap and to pillow feeling.
Saying Reyes are the best gloves in the world is clearly stating you haven't gone serious about trying and testing other brands like Fly or Winning. The breaking in period can be really painful with Reyes. Once they're broken in they fit just perfectly, tho. Reyes padding is something I wouldn't recommend for sparring whatever the ounces. They are much harder than softer padded brands way more suitable for sparring duties. The weight issues have been and are still being real. Expect 18oz when you get a 16oz pair. Same goes for the rest of ounces options. The inside of the gloves is terrible. Not just in terms of comfort during the breaking in period but the lining is horribly done. Yeah, great gloves for the price but definitely not the best gloves out there.
Thanks for the comment Israel, We have tried other brands but we think for the price Reyes are by far the best. Winning is an amazing brand but unfortunately will cost you an arm and a leg to get a pair in the UK. For the price, we dont think winning is worth it, But that is our opinion. The weight issue is something we have noticed but we just let people know when they come into buy a pair of if they order online we will give them a call. Everyone is going to prefer different gloves and from what we have found Reyes to be one of the most popular brands we've had in.
Thanks for showing Marquez, we love him in Mexico. Great guy and athlete 🇲🇽
The best part of getting new Reyes gloves is the amazing leather smell!! Can’t beat that.
Oh yeah 100%! nothing is better than new gloves!

They really are amazing! we have tested out quite a few pairs of gloves and tried lots of different brands and nothing comes close to the Reyes!!
These are hands down the best gloves I’ve ever had they fit comfortably I went for 14oz I got small hands they fit fine perfect for bag and pads.
they really are the best gloves in the world!
Are they good for sparring ?

Why the grib bar is the worst.. I traid them and the grib bar was to much
What oz would you recommend for someone who weighs approximately 92kg?
depends on what your gym says but i would recommend 14oz or 16oz
What size are those

Not for the training gloves, although there is a big difference between these and the contest gloves.
What is the difference between these and Cleto Reyes Amateur Boxing Gloves?
Should I buy these I been boxing for 8 months
if you want to keep boxing, these gloves wont let you down!
Whats the price
they are different price's depending on the oz.
12oz is £205
14oz is £209.99
16oz is £214.99
How do pick . Wich one to get ?
For beginner
Any of the Velcro gloves, the color is up to you!
Should I get amateur gloves or the professional I’m a amateur
you would get the Velcro gloves for training and then then contest gloves for an actual boxing match
Cleto Reyes gloves AKA as puncher's gloves.
