Hi... I got a ps4 slim and put games on it. I have a friend who got his before me but he uses Disk. Can I transfer my games to his console the way u did on this video without having any problem pls answer me

Fantastic video. For anyone that might get confused as I did regarding the lan cable being connected from console directly to new console, in order for that to work you need to start off having both PS4 connected wirelessly to the same WiFi network and not on a ethernet cable to the router. This way it will then prompt you to connect one PS4 to the other via an ethernet cable. If you don't start this way it will prompt you to have both ps4s to the same router and then the transfer will happen via the router. The difference basically is in time. If you connect the ps4s to each other you will easily shave 4 to 5 hours as opposed to doing the whole process by each PS4 connected to your router directly. Hope this makes sense and I didn't confuse anyone.

I just got a PS4 Pro on Friday, and I had a ton of network issues with my internet provider, but once I got through all that, I followed the steps on this video, and it worked like a charm. I had a 500 gb PS4, with as many games as I could put on it, and it took about two and a half hours with a good ethernet cable. Thanks, Vince. You saved me a LOT of time! A couple of side-notes: 1. I had the same issue once everything was transferred, where I couldn't play games that were downloaded from the PS Store. Deactivating then reactivating the PS4 Pro as shown in the video worked without a hitch. 2. I had to deactivate my old PS4 via the old PS4, rather than through the new PS4 Pro. It wouldn't let me do it via the new one, or online.

My PS4 is 500 GB and was basically full. Following your video it said would take me 106 minutes to transfer everything including applications, save data, photos and videos, settings and themes. When I first started it, it said it was going to take 3 hours, but once I was up to 5 or 6% transferred, it said it would take 112 minutes. Everything worked great!
Thought I had to wait until after Christmas to get my Pro. Well, guess I was a good girl. Because I recieved my Christmas bonus. Got my Pro and went straight to TH-cam. like an idiot i didnt check if the network cable i was using had all 8 wires in each end (mine only had 4), long story short it was 7-8 hrs vs less than 1 hr for around 320gb of data, epic waste of 2hrs + but got there in the end, thanks for tutorial

The internet is just used to connect you to PSN and download the latest firmware for the new PS4. Otherwise, data transfer does not take place over the internet

Brilliant video, thank you explaining it so well. Mine will probably take bit longer as I swapped out the 500gb hdd for a 1tb and it’s 3/4 full. My original launch PS4 hasn’t missed a beat and has earned a well deserved rest. The pro has big shoes to fill.

I have a problem,, when i start the transfer process , the pro says it will restart and start the transfer. Ok ,,Well, When it restarts it loses it ''''wireless'''wifi signal, because in a previous step,, the directions said to the connect a LAN cable to both machines . .The pro's port senses a cable ,so it goes to wired instead of wireless signal,,, and says connection to server was lost . Mayb someone has an idea . 2 ethernets i guess then.

One good thing that I never realized about this is that if you sign in with the same PSN ID that you used on the old PS4, it will actually prompt you to start a system transfer. Absolutely brilliant design choice by Sony.

No, because when I tried my hard drive on a different PS4 it showed up with the games stored on the hard drive. The different PS4 did not wipe it or have to format it so the one Hard Drive worked on both PS4s. I did have to sign into my PlayStation Network (PSN) on the other PS4 as the games are linked to my PSN id. Once I did that and uploaded the game saves then it worked the same as if I was playing on the original PS4.

I had both hardline to the same router and it took 16 minutes to transfer. But this video is also helpful. If your in a hurry you can do it the way I did both ways are fine.
Just a quick question, my old PS4 dosent work on WiFI anymore so if the PS4 Pro is trying to find the old PS4, does my old PS4 have to be connected on WIFI in order for the PS4 pro to find the console near by?

Thank you for making this video! I have a slim & looking to buy a pro tomorrow. My initial thought on switching system info was removing/swapping the hard drives on the units (both 1T). Trouble is I don't know if the drivers are the same in each system for the graphics card & processor. This looks like a better way of transfering data, after I load up the external HDD with game data tonight.

J. Just go to settings with both devices and choose LAN.They both need to be in the same LAN.

So I have an original ps4 with a 2tb hdd that I put in. Is it possible that I can take that 2tb hdd and replace the 1 tb of a ps4 pro?

They would not recommend transfer if it would delete the old. Though if that was the case a warning would appear.

It works. You Can Play Saved Data Under Other user. But only on that persons profile.
Thank you for making this video! I have a slim & looking to buy a pro tomorrow. My initial thought on switching system info was removing/swapping the hard drives on the units (both 1T). Trouble is I don't know if the drivers are the same in each system for the graphics card & processor. This looks like a better way of transfering data, after I load up the external HDD with game data tonight.

On the Xbox one all u gotta do is plug a usb stick into the Xbox, put your games on it, unplug it and put it in your new Xbox
