Whether it's a race or a long run, the streams are nice! I've learned to really appreciate them to cool you off and splash the sweat/salt off your face. Appreciate you watching the video! Looks like you've been sharing more videos lately too. Keep up the great work!
WOW what an absolutely beautiful course and what a challenge! Holy moly that elevation!!!! You did awesome, way to be positive through such a hard trail to tackle. Thank you for sharing your experience, you crushed it!!
Awesome video Chad! The views here are unbelievable. I loved the colors of the foliage and ground cover too. Neat place! Great-looking running too, you were really moving.
@nimrod2020 that wouldn't surprise me! Haha! I'm really thinking of registering for Quad Rock 25 next year (I'd like to see how fast I can run it) as well as the Red Feathers Trail Jamboree 50 miler. So if you're running those races, maybe I'll see you out there too.
Great video Chad! I’d also argue toughest 50k in CO! With the altitude and uneven terrain for running, it was quite challenging! But what a cool experience!
Great video and congratulations on the time - big improvement over your previous time. I’m actually running this on Saturday. Do you have any suggestions/tips?
Best of luck this Saturday! That's pretty exciting and it's an awesome race! My suggestions or tips would be to not underestimate the second climb between miles 14 to 18, save a little bit of energy for the downhill to the finish line, and enjoy all of the views! Wish I could run it this year but, I just finished a 100 mile ultra a week and a half ago (UTE 100 video is also on my channel right now!) th-cam.com/video/wUah95mbE1I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oYik6luO9p1UD0f0
@stevecogswell7872 I only carried the two soft flasks on the hydration vest which was enough between aid stations. I didn't have to fill up between stations.
Haha! I went with the Salomon Pulsar Trail Pro 2 shoes since they have a little more underfoot cushioning and bounce. That said, I found that for this distance and terrain that I developed a small blister on the inside of my right foot in that shoe. I think it's because the arch is more forward than needed for my foot (never felt that before until mile 25ish). Other than that, the shoes were great but if I were to do it again, I'd choose my trusted adidas TERREX Speed Ultra trail shoes or even the New Balance Summit Unknown v4. On a lesser related note, Puma is sending me their new Voyage NITRO v3, and eventually the Fast-Trac Apex NITRO (both of which offer major improvements over their predecessors). Can't wait to review those!
@@SeeChadRun Interesting I haven’t tried the Salomon Pulsar Trail Pro 2, I recently did a 66km with 10,500 elevation gain and opted for the Salomon Genesis “great shoe” wide toe box compared to other Salomon. I would definitely recommend and would race again in them. Other note as you mentioned standing by for your upcoming shoes reviews “always a pleasure to watch”. I wish I could run in the Adidas Terrex Speed Ultra, just not enough cushion for me on the long distance trail run above 42KM. But a great shoe, Take care and have a great week…

@@SeeChadRun I'm looking at those pulsar 2 because my Sense Ride 5 insoles keep moving back so my toes hang over and it's giving me a toe blister. I love Salomon but that issue (in 2 different sizes of same shoe) is driving me crazy. Might try the Pulsar now, glad to hear they worked fairly well.
@@SeeChadRun good memory! But no, I decided it was too big a mileage jump right now and I have this shoe issue I'm worried would be much worse at that mileage.

@@SeeChadRun Thank you, that is really helpful. I'll check out that UTE video. How much water did you carry? Did you ever run out between stations?

The people need to know what shoe did Chad pick for the toughest 50k in Colorado 🤔 As always great job and video content, keep them coming…
