So true and very rare. Testament to how toxic he was because if it had been a toxic workplace before him people would already be distrusting of each other instead of banding together like this.

Especially in a small government. The corruption in government of all levels often silence these complaints.

This behavior isn’t rare. I’ve met several managers who were fired due to toxic workplace behavior. They often end up as low level government managers and administrators where they continue and sometimes become even more intolerable. Unfortunately, local and state government tends to move these people to other departments rather than deal with the issue.

Its a control move that masks what a person is really up to, which is getting thier hit and a paycheck. Thier not smart enough to think past "what if this wont work".

Not when he is a massive narcissist who thinks he’s smarter than everyone. His testimony was very entertaining as he tried to convince the jury/ public that he is innocent and the victim of a huge conspiracy involving a hit man hired by a real estate company, the multiple police officers/ detectives who investigated the murder and, of course, the crime lab technicians who analyzed the DNA found under the murdered man’s fingernails. I believe he actually thought he could be so persuasive that he would be found not guilty. He will now be in prison for at least 20 years and will have no hope of getting paroled unless he admits he committed the murder.

These narcissists are incredible. They are all so much alike, tho’. I dated one for awhile and found out how you can’t do anything but shake your head. I would laugh at his “antics”, thinking he was joking. I found out he wasn’t when he hit me. That was that. Police were called, they arrested him, they took me to the magistrates office to press charges, which I definitely did. Fun times! I feel that I was lucky tho’, that my parents had brought me up to be confident with myself so I was appalled at his behavior when the “love bombing”period ended and the real person came out. Good lesson tho’. Now I know what to look for!! 😅

Dealing with someone like Robert is really difficult and as a former manager, they are hard to get rid of and once gone seem to never quite stay gone. Obsessive, manipulative and narcissistic are all attributes that I attach to Robert.

I only discovered this story recently, and when I saw Dr. Grande had covered it, I came here immediately. I was not disappointed. Excellent work, as usual, Dr. Grande!
The body camera footage of Telles' arrest shows his victim-playing tendencies in stark detail. Telles not only said "You're only trying to take me down because I'm a public official"; he said it incessantly. Some of that was certainly due to the copious quantities of alcohol he must have consumed, but his attempts to portray himself as both important and victimized by his jealous enemies were on bold display. More recently, at his court appearances related to the murder charge, he plays the same cards, saying "You're all just trying to make me look bad." Sorry buddy, you are doing fine by that on your own; you don't need any help looking bad.
One final note: apparently, his name is pronounced "TAY-ess," which is the Spanish pronunciation, as in "caballero" (cah-bah-YAIR-oh). Not that it matters much, but if you hear someone (e.g., his wife) say "Tay-ess", that's why.
