- After 27 years of marriage Melinda & Bill Gates have decided to part ways, the FDA is expected to authorize the use of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 12 to 15, Star Wars Day is being celebrated around the world and since tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo we came up with a special character to honor both days, Jimmy interviews Luke Skywalker’s hand, we look at the difference between Dr. Fauci working for Trump vs working for Joe Biden, and since roughly 26% of Americans are planning to skip the vaccine altogether, we asked some real doctors and nurses to offer their best advice to those who are on the fence.

Thank you! My foster mom caught and survived Polio shortly before the vaccine was available to her and suffers from post-Polio spinal syndrome and severe pain to this day. She's one of the most resilent people I've ever met and is on tap for her local MDs to call when anti-vaxx parents need a reality check of how their choices impact their children!

When my mum was young she caught TB. So many people were dying of it at the time because there was a big outbreak of it and she was very scared. She was in hospital for six months. The scientists developed a brand new drug and she was only too happy to take it. There were no “ooh, it’s not been tested enough” shenanigans. She’s going to be 85 next month.

you realize 99.6% of people under 70 will survive Covid, and when they do, their own immune response is much better than the vaccination (they are already discussing boosters ). This is a serious question... If you are not over weight and young, why would you get the vaccination? I just don't understand the logic about protecting "others". Shouldn't "others" be protecting themselves by getting the vaccine? In addition 50% of medical professionals are opting out of the vaccination. I followed the science and it took me to "inconclusive" in the medical field.

There are lots of people who have had Covid and became re-infected, immunity is not a guarantee. I suppose you haven't heard about all the variants of the disease that you can still become infected with even if you've had Covid ? Kim, did you also notice Fauci never laid out any plans for boosting your own immune system or how to take personal responsibility to reduce risk? We sat at home for a year amd people got fatter, drank more, and did nothing yet nothing was on CNN about that being the worst possible thing you could do for yourself, far more dangerous than going to 7-11 without a mask. My entire point was we are being sold a bag of goods that we don’t know anything about and on the flip side ZERO alternatives for treatments or self-help. Now they are trying to pump this poison in children who have almost no reaction to Covid. The entire thing is lunacy when you break it down and think about it rationally.

I feel like we all struggle with this at some point so to hear success stories provides motivation! I am not an against vaccines. My kids and myself have had all of them. I just want folks to do some critical thinking on this one. PlEase listen to the podcast of Michael Yeadon the Pfizer exec I put in one of my posts. Once you listen, if you want additional information about others who have alternative perspectives I would love to share. At the very least it gives both sides of a complex story.

I'm so lost. Yesterday we had our first family "reunion" in almost 2 years. We wore masks and all are vaccinated, then my brother and his wife showed up. We were all talking about our vaccine experiences and asked them about theirs. They said they have decided not to get the shots. My husband has cancer and we were all shocked at their response. None of us said anything negative to them. I wish I had, but it wasn't the time. I'm just so lost and heartbroken and don't have anyone to talk to about it. Thank you Jimmy Kimmel for saying what needs to be said. I doubt my brother is listening.

Same! Pain in the arm after Moderna #2 and it’s gone in less then 24 hrs. So relieved.
I got both shots of the Pfizer vaccine in March. No side effects other than a bit of soreness at the injection site. I’m 69 and a diabetic. Now I feel like even if I should get infected, I have a chance of surviving. Before vaccination, I felt I would most likely die a horrible death from the virus if infected. If the survival instinct is truly a strong urge in humans, it is only stupidity that would cause people to not get vaccinated. Give them a Darwin Award.
@ONE DAY Yep, nothing really for the first but the second one was sore. I took 2 Tylenol and was fine. Nothing about the flu or fatigue others have described so I guess everyone is different. Congrats to you and everyone getting vaccinated!

If you want more info you should watch a quick overview of DNA/RNA/mRNA that is learned in HS bio class, but basically the mRNA gives your cells the 'code' they need to manufacture proteins (in this case the proteins will be antibodies) without actually having to be infected with the virus. What you are referring to is old school inoculation. mRNA in vaccines then allows your body to manufacture the necessary antibodies without the risks that come with being infected by COVID. It is true that if you are infected with COVID your body will produce some antibodies, but its not clear how long those will last and how many you will produce and whether that will be enough to prevent reinfection, so it is actually still recommended to get the vaccine even if you have been infected (so long as it is long enough after infection).

And I finally got my first shot last week 😡 - in this case, Switzerland was not as perfect on time as are our watches and trains, it was really frustrating. @@davidlundquist1979 I teach Tai Chi Chuan sword which is supposed to be a way of channeling energy into the blade. Personally, I found that metal tends to suck the energy out of you not give you a way to project it. So I prefer using wooden swords and I have a pair of aluminum tiger hook swords which I do my Tai Chi Chuan form in tournaments and exhibitions because it’s kind of like wood - I feel like I’m pushing my energy into it instead of having it being drawn into it.

It is following the hero's epic journey archetype. It can be set in almost any story of adventure especially. Lion King is one I used for my high school students because: a) they loved it b) easily recognizable examples of the archetypes for them to recognize. Look up literary or figurative archetypes. Fun subject! They can be found almost everywhere: in nature, poetry, music, movies etc.
