- In this video, I record my wife's reaction to secretly supercharging her new Cadillac Escalade, we do some crazy boosted launches, some burnouts, and hit the dyno. The results are pretty amazing but wait until you see what happens with a less restrictive air box! This truck is basically an Escalade V now at 1/4 the price and it's an absolute blast. I LOVE blowers, so much better for street use. A simple cone filter maybe on the inside of that housing cover so you can keep it or get a junk one to cut… It will make the whine a lot more pronounced. That’s what I did to my Grand Prix and it sounded so much better.

Yeah, my wife says, “I was sure I heard a screaming Hemi a minute ago.” , as I walk into the house. My ex-wife drove my brand new Magnum RT while I was borrowing her ‘05 Grand Cherokee 4.7liter for some rough terrain towing. She came home from work in her Jeep, which was no slouch, and said, “something’s wrong with my truck.” I asked what it was. “It doesn’t have a Hemi.” I can pick ‘em. My 20 yr old daughter just got a cherry ‘05 Magnum RT, has never gotten a ticket. I asked last week if she got a ticket yet. Nope. Yesterday she sent me a pic of her 70 in a 60 speeding ticket, knowing the actual speed was probably more like 80. It’s in the blood. Am I a bad example?

Just checked it... US 93 is 97.4 RON. The highest we can get is 95 RON (US 91) at the pumps in South Africa. Have to special order 98+ RON for track use.

I'm seriously considering adding this supercharger to my ESV. The warranty expired and I've decided to keep it for a few more years because the new ones are insanely expensive. These videos are awesome. Thanks Alex for the inspiration!

@@MaxBeecher I think it would take less time since they were also changing the spark plugs and cleaning the valves. It really looks pretty easy to install, probably a solid day or day and a half. Guess I need to get my order in with a 10-12 week lead time!

Also curious to know your rationale for abbreviating power with PRS and not PWR ... or just using HP for the whole thing.

Positive displacement blowers (roots or twin screw) are INCREDIBLY sensitive to intake restrictions. If you do the 104mm throttle body, a larger diameter intake, and remove the intake box, you will break 500whp, maybe even 525. Back when ‘03 Cobras were in their heyday, and we were just learning about positive displacement blowers, people would bump the boost up, get up to around 475rwhp, then add a big throttle body and intake and gain 80-100hp with just the intake mods. That means that not only are the super receptive to gains if you reduce restrictions, but they also lose tons of power if you increase restrictions. Make sure your air filter is clean/new. A dirty air filter on a positive displacement blower car can kill 20-40hp.

Absolutely YES on the dragstrip. She will benefit from knowing more of what it is capable of and may make a safer drive.
460 hp is not that much and it's heavy as shit so it's pretty damn safe but yea to the dragstrip def

This reminds me there was a girl I knew in high school. She drove a 1958 Chevy Impala. Her dad put a supercharger in it over a weekend. She came in one morning bragging she had put down a brand new Corvette with her Impala. She liked drag racing in the streets so much, in time her dad decided to pull the supercharger. She then said the car was actually faster off the line without the supercharger. But of course without the big boost. Reminds me of the hit song about that time, with the words, "Her daddy took the T-bird away. She was always fun to be around.

EYES!! Yes eyes, I said eyes. 👁👁 Everyone needs to keep their eyes, on her eyes, every time she smashes her GO pedal! She is very very understanding, pretty, spunky, and WAY KOOL!! Any woman who wants to run her vehicle at the drag strip is and AWESOME keeper for sure! My wife (who participated in Miss U.S.A. pageants) had the exact same reactions, with a little more laughing and giggling the first few times she put the pedal to the metal in our GMC TYPHOON that we took to the strips on many occasions (never removing our little one's car seats). She could not get enough of that adrenaline! One of her favorite places to race was a very small, rural airport not far outside of Pittsburgh Pa. that has "Run what Ya Brung for FUN" races and she loved beating the "boys" with their "toys". They of course hated it but we always made sure they were respectful. We would frequently overhear, "she ain't gunna do nothin against these men", after they heard she would be racing them and not I. "SURPRISE!" Each year some would return and say "I got this, this year." Not knowing I would do upgrades every year, these guys could not figure out why they kept getting beat. Your darling spouse will get the same reactions similar to this one... "BEATIN by a BABE!!" On behalf of myself and my racing wife I hope you share this with yours. To your entire family from ours, be careful, stay safe and be blessed.

OJ was completely focused on the instrument panel. I guess he has felt the sensation of horsepower enough that he doesn’t get excited about it anymore. Kind of sad actually. Like someone who works at an ice cream storm who no longer enjoys eating it.

Gotta love the instant power boost. My Challenger with a 5.7 went from 373 crank HP to 484 H 496 T at the wheel with 6.3 pounds of boost on my water intercooled Kenney Bell supercharger (just a sane and safe boost, the SC can go easily to 800 wheel HP on this engine and it is a smaller blower). You have the nice cold air of winter Chicago and I was in mid 70s spring time So Cal desert (FAMOSO Raceway... the one that is very often seen in many Motor Trend shows such as Roadkill) I would love to have your AWD traction! Even with the biggest DOT drag radials we can stuff on my back end, without a prepared track I have to feather into the power to keep hooked up. Your wife will very quickly get used to having the "extra" power to do things like you did, get around slow trucks. LOVE the boost! Factory tunes are OK but way over safe. After you get your induction and exhaust worked out take that in for a custom dyno tune. You easily will get another 20 or more HP and TQ out of the truck without any danger to the truck at all. But then, you already knew that LOL :D Congrats to both of you!
