also this may sound silly but give this a try for possible better 1-2 shifts, if there is a kick down pedal/button on the throttle, either add rubber so it blocks it from engaging or try to consciously be WOT while not hitting the kick down pedal. as silly as it sounds ive had the same issue and it turned out to be the kickdown function being too techy for its own good. my problem was as soon as it would get to the shift point it would get hung up for a second as if it was trying to downshift or find another gear until it finally goes into 2nd. it remedied my 1-2 shifts i couldnt believe it!. i was emailing my DSG tuner back and forth until he said to try not using the kickdown at all lol
"Traction off, a/c off" the look on his face when she said that was priceless. Also after first track day she already wants more power and to keep beating people, gotta love it!
That was tons of fun. You can really tell she's getting into it. Especially at the end when she asked what needed to be done to it to hit 113. 🤣 She's hooked, Alex!
Starts off as " I was so nervous" to "Yeah We can run again." One of the top videos Ive watched in a very long time. Great team work from the whole crew!
Also, I feel compelled to tell a story about my late wife. She was the drag racer of the two of us. One night we rolled up to T&T night in our stock Forester. She announced that she was racing right when we pulled up to pay the admission. Shocked the hell out of me. She ran 3 times in the 17s and had a blast. So sad we never made it back. So, my message is that life is short. Do all that stuff you always say you’re going to do!
Man brother sorry for your loss. Glad you have that memory with your wife though. I just told my wife I wish we could do fun stuff like this. Lol. 😂 I just don’t have the big pockets even tho I I’m in the middle of super charging my 08F150 that’s wht landed me on this page but this content is on point.
This was one of your best vids ever, man! I LOVE how much fun your wife was having, and even more, how happy and supportive you were. And then at the end when she asked how she could get it up to 113 mph, that was EPIC!! Great job!
That look on your face when she asked you how to get that 113 was perfect; you contained your excitement as well as you could. Speed is a wonderful addiction 👌
Loved this video!!! Your wife's face on that last race was all I needed to know that she got a great launch on that last Track Hawk race!!! That Track Hawks are fast and you were right on his bumper!! Best part of the video is when your wife was like, yeah, it's time for more mods to go faster! 100% keeper....lol
Honestly this was such an enjoyable video! She's hooked! I think with a pulley, header back exhaust, and a more aggressive tune as well as a TCU tune you're going to run 12.8s all day long!
The look on your wife's face was priceless. She's hooked. I recently SCed my G37X (AWD) 7AT (Stillen kit plus full 2.5" dual exhaust w/ HFCs) and did a mail in tune. Had it dynoed by a local Subie shop (closest 4 wheel dyno) and it peaked at 405 HP at 7200 (300 tq from 3000 to 7200) but I think it pulls right to 7800 so peak HP may be more than measured. Ran it at Maple Grove a few weeks back. The trans sucks for drag racing, it stalls at 1600 RPM WOT foot on the brake and upshifts are slow (around .3 seconds according to the log data). Not bad for my first time at the dragstrip in neary 40 years (and back then I was running bikes) as my last run of the day was a 12.966@110. 12 second car... I'll take it.
Oh man was this awesome to watch. Been loving your channel over the years. Your wife asking how you can get to 113 is marriage goals then your smile right after that, oh man. Can't wait to see how this build progresses!!!
Love how much you support your wife. Great to see her crush the runs. Now… let’s get some more power in that Escalade and we need to see her in the 12’s 💯🙌🏾
I was gonna say the same thing. Watching her get bug eyed and focused was sooo cool. I was grinning the whole time watching this video. Good job, loved it
She did a great job. I have a 2015 Esv I also race one tip to go faster is to start in 4 wheel drive high once you get off the line switch to 2 wheel drive
What a cool wife you have, loved the content and loved the excitement and enthusiasm she had. You guys have a great relationship, can't wait to see what you have in mind for the Escalade.
29:35 - The moment he knows she's hooked, and that he now has a wife who might be as into racing as he is from that day forward. Her competitive side coming out made him beyond happy. You can see the moment of realization on his face.
This was the most wholesome amazing video I’ve seen in forever! Your wife is amazing from nervous to alright how do we go faster 😂 Wish I could like this twice
Is a blessing seeing wife and husband having real fun racing. Remember you have basically a ls3 on a Escalade and the fact the it not sport truck and perform like one??? What more can you expect. Ls power for life ✌️
She did so awesome! nd the fact tha she got over it at the end nd said how can we make more power says a lot about her! u know ur wife very well nd she indeed is competitive nd did great! like better then u great wich is astonoshing!! congrats!!
I absolutely love this channel. So cool to see the dedication of your better half., and racing skill My wife use to complain whenever I pass 70 MPH, but ever since I bought my W211 she can't feel the speeds anymore, haha but seeing her racing like your wife is still a goal for me
Smiles for miles Alex! Us ladies got speed in our DNA. First stop is the race shop for helmets and gear. We need you all to stay safe and in one piece! You've got babies to raise. Loved every second!
Yes I believe if you can hit 100 down the track you gotta have a helmet cause I definitely wouldn’t wanna crash at 100 mph in an 8-9k pound suv at 110mph without some safety lol
I love how your wife goes from never being on a drag strip, "What is this race called again". To "how do we do a 113mph" 🤣 So good. I want to get my wife racing now.
That was awesome! Much respect to you and most certainly your wife. You can tell she has that competitive spirit and now wants to go faster. Really enjoyed this episode.
29:36 .... The "Yesssss" face haha. This was a freaking great video. Some people are just easy to like, and everyone in this video is one of those people. What a great job for the first time at the track too. I don't care what anyone says, almost everyone feels those butterflies the first time.
Alex- This was so cool! A friend turned me on to your channel about a week ago and I have binge watched about everything! Y'all keep it up, this was so fun to watch. I am rebuilding my 1966 mustang currently and after watching this my wife wants to go to the track and race. Owe you a big one for that.
It's nice to see your wife slowly becoming more comfortable being in the vids! Also we def got to see that competitive side coming out! You may be at the track alot more this year if you get those mods done asap! You may have created a monster!
I just love how your wife was like omg and the look on her face was priceless and in the end she got her confidence built up and for her to run a 13.2, well little lady you are with out a doubt a winner in my book. Keep up the great work and hope to see you and your wife doing more racing fix the transmission and do some head and cam work on the caddy and you will have a nice quick ride.
The second race with the Focus sounded so intense that I switched from doing a serious task on Safari to watch the ALMOST comeback lol it was so close! Very proud of your wife and it’s awesome to see the two of you enjoying a hobby together. Talk about relationship goals 🤣😂 you can def tell you two attack life as an amazing team. Everyone should take notes on this relationship. At least that’s how I would love my next relationship to be!
I made the assembly line for the 10 speed transmissions for Ford and GM. They designed them together to use the same internals. Only the cases are different. It’s a really good trans.
As much as I love your other videos, dude, this one just had me smiling THE whole time. Your Wife is amazing and the interaction between you two, amazing. Also, I LOVE how Peter magically disappears at 4:18 🤣🤣🤣
He was a bit of a dick claiming it was unmodified before making the bet, then taking the money anyway after listing all the mods & admitting to the tune. Oh well, I guess the engine will bust at some point so the $50 will help towards repairs.
That was a blast to see your wife's face when she launched, because it was a combo of some fear in the beginning, then a fierce and aggressive expression, because she was trying to get the E to go faster. I am new to your channel and I can't wait to see what you and she can make the Kid/Grocery mobile do at the track the next time out. If you take it to a tune shop they might be able to control the shift ranges and boost her power way up for the track. It looked like she did really really good and beat that guy off the line in manual, so if she could manual shift she could have beaten him easily. You also need new "MOM" merch like some T-shirts with a picture of the Escalade tricked out with fat racing slicks that says: [ 100Mph MOM ] or [ I GET GROCERIES & 13sec 1/4 MILE ] or Picture of her In bumber to bumper traffic yelling [ "OUT OF THE WAY I'M LATE FOR THE TRACK" ] or Like she said to you in the video [ "HOW DO WE MAKE MINE GO FASTER" ]
Have have to love it when your wife asks how do we get it to go faster…she’s clearly a keeper! You are a cam, heads, tune away from the 12’s in a freaking ESV 😮
i used to drag my sleeper at traffic lights, no one expected it my granny used to whoop with joy every time she was in the motor with me, one of those great memories 😁 edited to say mine ran 12 dead 1/4's at 115 mph so i reckon the escalade might dip into the 12's
Drag racing is so fun. I used to love having to line up next to some monster big blocks, u couldn't even hear if ur car was running or not (I was in a turbo buick). Of course most would smoke me, but sometimes I'd win. And bracket racing was fun because they'd all be close.
Her competitiveness really came through as you predicted. Beautiful to see! You said boost and cam…how about some transmission work? The most enjoyable of all videos watcched
I hope she will work her way up to racing the Camaro, would love to see what time she could run! Didn't expect to say that about someone after their first time on the drag strip.
You are surrounded by Good ppl! My wife likes to go fast in our Can-Am x3 and it's always fun to watch her play! So fortunate to have wife's that let us play and will play too!
Nice vid. I just picked up a Y performance. Hope to get to the track in a couple weeks. 2 wheel drive should be good. Just need a light burnout to clean the tires and balance the heat. Drop the psi down to around 30 Ideally when you stage, it’s good to do one bulb vs double bulb. Not a big deal until you start racing turbo cars.
I saw your channel for the first time today and I must say I loved it. Your wife went from very serious and nervous to asking how you guys could get the truck to do 113 miles per hr. How great is that. Good luck and please continue doing it as a team
You created a monster Alex. You will be getting called down to the police station where she has been out street racing.lol. love the videos . I think she is hooked on the power.
You can also get a Circle D 258mm 3,000 Stall Billet Triple Disc Torque Converter, because it’s Supercharged. Since you have AWD, you would be able to stall the converter much higher, possibly at least 2,800 and leave the line with 80-85% of the engine torque. This would put you in the 12s easy. I would also suggest longtube headers and a catback exhaust. A custom engine and transmission tune would help significantly as well. My Escalade is tuned by RPM Motorsport. Mine was remote tune. These guys are on TH-cam and located in Delaware. These guys are some of the best GM Tuners in the country. You would not be disappointed. My 2016 Escalade tune is phenomenal.
It was wayyy too funny when his wife was comparing numbers at the end and asking her husband how to get the Escalade up to 113 MPH. This content is so precious 💎💎💎
Outstanding, video. I’m surprised to learn that the horsepower that the transmission is slow on the V. I thought the V version is supposed to have the quicker transmission shift’s. I too was a TransAm owner. I had a new 78. Mine was a 400 engine. Of course I don’t recall the horsepower & the transmission of it’s time. It was an automatic. There’s been many times when I wish my car’s had more power to get me where I needed to go in a hurry. My TransAm V8 never disappointed. I was tempted to do the track like you’re doing. I was in Manassas, Virginia. They have a drag race strip. I wasn’t sure if my car would be ok doing run’s. I was only visiting family. I didn’t want to have car problems. I lived in Pennsylvania. 8 hours away at the time. It was my first car. I was 21 at the time. It was an automatic. I didn’t know how to drive a stick. My current car is a Turbo 4 2.3 but a 6 auto AWD. It’s feels like a 6. My last one was a 6. My current car, when accelerated actually pin’s in my seat. That’s the kinda take off it has. It has even more of a takeoff than my 6 that I traded in. It’s just a newer model than the car I had. 2011 Lincoln MKZ V6. 2018 Lincoln MKZ Reserve AWD 2.0
Oh man, there is so much I want to talk to you guys about. What other mods should we do to the truck? What other cars should I bring to the track? What are you guys working on right now getting ready to race?

I love how she went from "I'm so nervous" to "How do we get more power" lol, she's definitely got that racing spirit
That was golden

All it needs is a trans tune and maybe a pulley change on the SC
Not only was she faster than Alex, her estimation was also the most accurate. She's so cool. You're one lucky man, Alex.
Bro I got so much respect for Alex! Good job bro!!! Don’t see many people take their wife racing But ITS AWESOME!!!
Thanks brother!!

Drag racing is so fun. I used to love having to line up next to some monster big blocks, u couldn't even hear if ur car was running or not (I was in a turbo buick). Of course most would smoke me, but sometimes I'd win. And bracket racing was fun because they'd all be close.
You know she's a keeper if she's into fast cars too...Good job on this waifu choice Alex. :D
I'd quit racing if I lost to the soccer mom mobile
I get a kick out of the look on your wife's face when she hits the throttle! She did great! LOVE IT!
Wifey is AWESOME! Her competitive spirit definitely shows.
First time racing and she ran on a pro tree... by accident lol but still awesome!! She ran a sick run for her first time ever racing on a track!!
Nice vid. I just picked up a Y performance. Hope to get to the track in a couple weeks.
2 wheel drive should be good. Just need a light burnout to clean the tires and balance the heat. Drop the psi down to around 30
Ideally when you stage, it’s good to do one bulb vs double bulb. Not a big deal until you start racing turbo cars.
I love the positive energy in this video. Wisconsinites are good people.
Now this is a car, life and marriage lesson. Good communication, support and we have another drag racer. Nice.
Peter in the back smiling like a gremlin who just got the cheese! Love it!
I knew this track looked familiar!!!! I’ve raced here… It’s been 12 years since I’ve lived in Illinois… fantastic to see!!!!
"Might have to put a cam in and more boost......" then the smile LOL! So sick! You guys are awesome
Lot of fun with your lovely wife.Alex she did so good .glad your trans held up.
Outstanding!!!! Your wife was reluctant at first, then she wants to go faster!!!! You gotta love her!!!!
Both of you killed it. I love how laser focused she is and that she wants more power!!!
It was wayyy too funny when his wife was comparing numbers at the end and asking her husband how to get the Escalade up to 113 MPH. This content is so precious 💎💎💎
This is awesome!!! I’ve always wondered what it be like to supercharge my 18 Escalade.
You 2 are classic, congrats on 12 years together and for the 13.2!
That smile on your wife's face on he ride home says it all. She's hooked. 😁👍
That little smile to camera at the end when you're talking mods with your wife! 😁. Great work! ❤️
