  • Season 3 Riding from Michigan in the United States to Ushuaia Argentina Solo on a BMW R1250 GS Motorcycle alone with no support, no timeline, no agenda.. just riding the local backroads and seeing the sites. Come join me on this EpicTime2Go Journey.
    The plan was to lower the suspension on the BMW R1250 GS Adventure, but the cost was too much so I went with a new BMW R1250 GS to continue the journey on.
    In this video I will explain the difference between the BMW GS and GS Adventure Models as well I will review the accessories I use on a long distance EpicTime2Go Tours.

    I discovered your channel recently while researching my next motorcycle adventure. Great to see Jeff and the guys at sembmw get some airtime - I’m in Michigan and bought my gs there too, great guys. I’m inspired by your courage and willingness to seek adventure. Most people talk about it but never do it - keep doing it!!!!

    A year ago, I was back and forth in the dealer showroom from GSA to GS. I went in for the GSA, but left with the GS. Although I am sure I would have gotten used to the GSA, the GS just felt “right” to me. Plus I do a lot of my short range riding and more sporting riding without the panniers, and I just like the cleaner look and lighter weight of the Vario setup without the frames. Not as rugged, but with the spoked wheels and crash bars, well suited for my needs. Enjoy your new ride. Love the Trophy livery. Mine is the 40th Anniversary with the “1250” down the tank like yours but in yellow on black. I really like the look of yours.

    As someone who owned GS and GSA, both models and both suspensions, I like the Low suspension better. With the GSA, I never filled up the Tank. It was a total overkill for my type of riding. Why carry all that weight? On the GS, I replaced the screen with a Puig for $100. It is larger and wider screen. Even on the GSA, I had a little wind deflector for less buffeting. It all depends how tall you are. Love the new color a lot! Congrats! Have safe travels.

    Top tip if you don’t mind me mentioning this.. you don’t need music on your video when you are talking, the levels are way out and you can’t hear you very well. It’s also annoying.
    I worked for the BBC 25 years and this is/was the most common complaint.
    People listen to you on iPhones, iPads etc and the reproductive speakers are not the best.
    Other than that really like the content and I can see it’s a lot of work you put in. Keep it up!

    Love the bike I have a new trophy also, Only difference is I opted for gold wheels . Still waiting on the led upgrade as it came new with the halogen due to supply. I personally prefer the gs over the gsa due to a smaller bike I don’t need the extra mileage I generally prefer to get off before 300 miles+ anyway.

    Nice review and parts selection. Just picked up my new GSA. I’m planning to order soft panniers, struggling a bit between the Mosco Moto and the Lone Rider. What made you choose the Mosco’s?
    Incidentally, and kind of funny, I just ordered a pair of the flip up light covers you just added. I really like the yellow lenses but went with the orange to match the lone Rider a headlight protector 🤷🏼‍♂️. Safe travels

    Glad to hear the low suspension is working for you since that's what I'm getting. I'm 5'10 with 32" inseam as well. How does the low seat compare to the standard one? Do you run it in the higher position if you are using the low seat or did you swap out for a standard seat? I liked the standard seat on low position when I took the GS for a test drive and I read people complaining that the low seat is not as comfortable.

    • @EpicTime2Go
      @EpicTime2Go  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have both the low seat and standard seat. I like and use the Low seat in the high position on the low suspension GS and It work Amazing! Same Comfort! - Side Note: I do use a Wild Ass seat cushion if Im riding a long day 500+ Miles on Highway. Key to the cushion is not to put too much air in it so you can move around and you will never get a sore butt it's incredible. I met the owner out at adventure days and he showed me how to use it properly. I don't use it much but when it's needed it works GREAT! Enjoy the Ride and have a Phenomenal Day!

      @russwright ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EpicTime2Go Excellent, thanks for the extra info. I was going to buy a standard seat right away but will just wait and try the low seat in high position and see how it works out. First off ur bike is beautiful - congrats. May I ask how tall you are ? and is your height the reason you went to the GS from GSA?

    • @EpicTime2Go
      @EpicTime2Go  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank You of your comment. I'm 5 foot 10 inches with a 32 inch inseam. The GS Low suspension is the best ride for me. Everything works great I rode the GSA everywhere and loved it but I had the standard suspension and it was too High always on my toes and when it's filled with gas it is super heavy feeling. I feel much better on the GS and visually it seems a lot lighter and easier to maneuver when in traffic, parking lots, city driving, off road, making u turns, etc. Im super happy with the decision no regrets at all. The GSA is Awesome for riding 300 miles between gas where the GS its around 180 miles you can actually get more milage between stops depending on riding conditions but its nice to get off the bike to walk around and meet people as someone also talks to you and that's super fun and interesting meeting them. Have an Awesome Day!

    Congrats on the new bike. Looks amazing!!. Is it better to handle than your GSA?

    • @EpicTime2Go
      @EpicTime2Go  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They both handle amazing on the road same feeling. What I like better is the slimmer feel as the GSA with full tank of gas and Standard Height was to heavy for me. The new GS is much easier for me to maneuver at slow speeds or in parking lots, uneven surfaces when stopped, etc. Since my legs 32 inch inseam the low suspension works best for me. The Low GSA works great as well but went with the GS didn't need the extra fuel all the time... but it is nice to have once and awhile and you also do get more with a GSA including the Aux lights, upper crash bars, Aluminum luggage bars, etc right from the start. Have a Phenomenal Day!

    • @EpicTime2Go
      @EpicTime2Go  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can adjust the low suspension low seat height to 30.3 or 31.1 Inches or in metric it's
      770 / 790 MM before you sit on it or put weight on it. You can also use the ESA to adjust the seat height to MIN - Auto - High to raise and lower you seat height. It's super important for me as well to have both feet on the ground. It does not matter your age or ability as It's super important to be able to have stability when stoped on all surfaces as much as possible. Safe Ride and have an Awesome Day!

    • @EpicTime2Go
      @EpicTime2Go  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your question I really appreciate this. FYI - I did also get a GSA Low suspension and it was much better that the standard for me but the overall reason is the size of the tank. When full it is heavy and it's just big. I really enjoy the smaller gas tank and getting off the bike every 200 miles is awesome as I need to stretch out anyways. If you go from the GSA to the GS you will understand what im talking about (their is a motorcycle off-road coach that has a vied on this as well out on TH-cam), and I'm super happy with the GS vs the GSA. Everyone has a preference and for me it's the GS. It's an Awesome motorcycle and super happy with it. Hope this helps and have an Awesome Day!

      I’m sorry I laugh when BMW GSA 1200 or 1250 owners try to tout how the cog is so low! Huge fuel tanks on top of a heavy bike. Falling over on stuff that you shouldn’t. The bike I’ve seen on its side the most in my many years of riding are these big bmw’s. Just not made for anything more than gravel roads on the way to Starbucks.
