Nothing wrong with using the clones. I had a bunch of originals, but sold them years ago and bought some of them again in clone versions. Midi and better form factors. I had added extra control jacks to several of the originals, but they were around the backs of the synth so not super convenient, and I still needed multiple Kenton Pro4 and Pro2 units to make them all work. For the people who scorn Behringer build quality, you never owned a Pro1, they were built like trash. The sequencer on the RD8 runs rings around the original 808, the Moog Source was just unpleasant to program, but I used to gig it because it had memories. The Ms20 needed an extra £200 ish card adding to a Kenton Pro4, on top of the price of the Pro4 because it used Korg's CV standard, etc. Being original vs. clones arguments are more for collectors vs. people making music with them, imo.
I think we're about the same age. I discovered TD also in 73. Got my first synth in 75, the tonus 2600. Never bought the ARP sequencer though. Now they are hard to find and mucho $$$. Just by coincidence l ordered one 960 this afternoon from Sweetwater. As always, your stuff is great.
The effect levels are very low and it is just very mediocre compared to my Eventide Time Factor and Space. It is built in to the B Odyssey and probably works slightly better there.
I'm perfectly happy being old school. But being imperfect is what makes us interesting and unique; the young are influenced by social media to alter their bodies to look like other altered images. Those felt pen eyebrows and pumped up lips - hideous! Had a whisky tonight so talking bollocks again😁
@@VykaarTones I was quoting the last line of Karn Evil 9 'I'm perfect, are you' :) But no, you're dead right, it's like Identikit robots. I saw one while crossing the road earlier today funnily enough, Range Rover, sunglasses (it was raining up here today) and comically outsize yacht varnished lips. A rarer sight in the Shires but all the same, had me giggling.
Crackin' jam :)

Spot on with your remarks , music is the end product plus the enjoyment
I have Behringer gear B'Odyssey, B'Monopoly and Eurorack B'Modular stuff, no complaints from me :)

You will enjoy using the 960 it is the best performance step sequencer 😊
@VykaarTones since I had discovered your posts a few years back...
I picked up my first 960 & 962 Sep 2021, rapidly went to two each.
My first TD was 'Ricochet' when it came out on the recommendation of the record store clerk...
Discovered 'Oxygene' the same way.
I for one am generally very happy with my Behringer stuff. Their Space FX proved to be a bad bargain, however.
Me too
Sent my Space FX back next day😒
Can I ask what what is wrong with the Space FX?

@@VykaarTones Thank you for the info', I will avoid it :)
The next great jam.
I'm perfect, are you? Excellent stuff Mr.Tones.

@Andrewausfa We are happy in our old skins without modifications but do look better if we work out.
@@VykaarTones Thats my observation on life too ,plus the whisky
Wasn't the assisted dying bill already applied with the removal of the winter fuel payment?
Nice jam!! Action movie comes to mind. Who is the pic in the upper left with the heart?
Me and Nora our beautiful miniature schnauzer
