The more I listen to this music, the more it grows on me. I particularly like the 2nd movement, and the 4th. is brilliantly quirky. Superb interpretation and excellently played, I thought.

Like one of the earlier commentators I find the second movement particularly appealiing, indeed it was hearing it this morning on BBC Radio 3 that led me to this vey enyoable perormance

Wonderful music, wonderfully played. Is there any chance to find the score somewhere ?

No opus number so probably a relatively early work. But in the 1, 2 and 4. Movement I hear the opening descending motive g, f-sharp, e-flat which reappears as the opening three notes of the piano sonata in f-sharp minor op. 24 no. 1 (1924). Those opening notes, and in fact the complete opening eight measures of the 1924 piano Sonata op. 24 no. 1 were already written down in a piano Sonata in f-sharp minor composed in 1912 in Paris. As a matter of fact, those three notes reappear in a minor as the opening solo piano part descending motif e, d-sharp, c natural in the sonata for piano and violin op. 25 which Enesco referred to as being Romanian but actually in the sense of the inner soul life of a gipsy lăutar. Could you tell me what the composition date of this trio is? Was it by any chance written in Paris during his student days there, 1912 or before? Tibor Szász

      Hi, Tibor Szász!
You had the right idea :) This trio was written in Paris, although already in 1897. The first performance of this piece was in 1898 on the sixth of February, also in Paris.

@@WDRKlassik Thank you very much for your reply. I had performed and published much about Enescu, and I also speak Rumanian. If interested, let me know.
