Honestly, same. He was one of the main voices of Rivers for me through this album cycle. If you wanna get poetic though and in the theme of The Work completing the four seasons, so should Rivers as a band complete a chapter in their history. Honestly though, they've got their hooks in me as well as countless others. I look forward to the future of this band while fondly looking back on the past.

I dont think so from how they've talked about it. I read an interview where they mentioned it and said he was fired, that it wasnt an amicable departure. Seems like a 'he unfortunately couldnt get his shit together' type of thing but they obviously arent going to elaborate on the man's personal life publicly.
When they first had to play shows without him and figure out how to do that on the fly it was because he either wasnt able to perform or wasnt showing up to some of their gigs on short notice. It seems like they decided if they had to learn to perform without him because they couldnt depend on him to be there then they may as well just move on without him. If it was because of his hearing issues I imagine that could have been dealt with and he could have left amicably if he needed to.
They do a good job without him but it still sucks, he has a pretty distinctive vocal style that worked really well with the dynamic of the band, deep with strong enunciation, able to convey emotion. Shame they couldnt work something out to keep him around but after like a decade they must have had their reasons.

I think: Every band that buils some recognition through years and hard work have an identity in vocals and sound. It's gonna be difficult for so much peopple face this, but for me, the most important thing is... that twist in this band that always had and is no missing but evolving. I mean, all albums are jewels, but every album from those guys turn the ambient, composition, sensibilities, arrangements, etc, so violently in another direction searching for a different excellence... maximum respect and love guys.

    Just started watching
You mentioned being between genres and perhaps that'll lead to trouble finding a footing in the music industry; but that is why rivers of nihil is great; keep your artis vision.

Keep pushing yourselves. If something makes your collective creative mind happy then it's good enough for us. You've proven that.

Always wanted to see these guys on here. I still think a session with CONVERGE would be legendary, especially if they play some of their more experimental/progressive tracks .

Fantastic performance! I've seen them live, and they absolutely kill it on stage. Owls and The Work are pretty much two of the best metal albums of the last few years. Looking forward to seeing where they go next.

Such deep respect for these guys and what they create. The depth and difficulty of their process shows in how many times you can hear their albums and still discover new stuff. I hope this profile helps them grow. PS come back to Australia soon so I can kiss you all on the mouth 🤠
