This is fantastic - there are so many channels with this information but I have yet to find any that actually do cater to beginners. All of these examples with pieces and exercises as well as step by step instructions make much more sense to someone who is just beginning or has only played for a few years. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!

I have played this exercise many many times but never with forearm rotation, just with my fingers, and they always got sore. I can't wait to try using forearm rotation. I wish the exercise actually described that is the technique in the book but I guess that is too much to ask! Thank you for another awesome video!

Excellent videos - full of detail. I'm recovering from tendonitis due to a bad technique so I will have to start learning again the piano basics.

Is Bach Invention n8 suitable for beginners?

Bach Inventions are too advanced for beginners. If you enjoy his music, we recommend to start with Anna Magdalena's Notebook; amzn.to/3LM1p8f; Here is a tutorial on the famous Minuet in G: th-cam.com/video/OSmUhBCzEEY/w-d-xo.html. - PTP Team

@@PianoTeachingPros Thanks for your kind answer, and I thought that it's too advanced aswell, but by looking at this video I thought it was recommended to practice both on Hanon and Bach invention at the beginner stage.

You are very welcome! We used Bach Invention for forearm rotation demo. Hanon is much more appropriate for beginners.

Thank you very much for this! I have a question - is there any way to apply this or a similar technique when playing solid thirds with one hand? For example, in Czerny Op. 599, exercise 17, switching between fingers 24 & 35 rapidly. After practicing for a few days my wrist and forearm became quite painful - almost tendonitis feeling. I had to move away from that piece, and have had to baby my right arm for several days now. I've tried to slow down and figure out a way to play these without tension but am struggling! Do you have any advice?
    Thank you so much again!

have you gotten over the issue? I'm a leftie and can do the shift from 24 to 35 legato in the left hand but struggle in the right, so trying to take it slowly non-legato making the gap between 24 and 35 as short as possible

We plan to do a tutorial on thirds in future.

I don't manage the correct arm/hand technique. I got very long arms and it just feels so awakward. :(

Long arms can be an advantage, try some basic exercise, such as Hanon #1, th-cam.com/video/_4O4BvQOxBg/w-d-xo.html
