Ideas are eternal but they arent humans, humans are destructable and forgotten but they color life. We're used to put ideas and immortality in such a high pedestal that individuals are seen as irrelevant and this is the first time i see this idea being challenged and humans being valued. This makes me really sad when i remember how awful humans are for each other, it's unnecessary.
We are meant to seek understanding the eternal, but on that road we must always cherish our basic and mortal humanity and use it as a guiding light in our quest. If we start seeing human as irrelevant, it means we are on a wrong path. This is the starting grain of truth of Buddha's enlightenment.
Guy died like a boss. Broke his own neck so he couldn’t be drawn live. It didn’t go down like this in reality- they hung you but didn’t break your neck, just choked you while they draw you, exposing your intestines. Guy knew this and jumped to break his neck, killing himself instantly (significant for a Catholic). They drew him while dead anyway.

In the process he lost the ability to feel pain, and also suffered heinous burns across his body which is why he wears the mask. Also a fuckin wild detail that nobody ever talks about when discussing the character, is that he does all of this whilst blind. His eyes were burned out in the fire.

Such a great film, you simply have to overlook the things that make you wonder...like how he blew up the old Baily. Or where he got all those masks from. I don't quibble over that, though, because the film is incredible. From story line to dialog. Just a great movie.
Even though Alan Moore doesn't like this movie for many reasons, especially his dislike of any adaptation of his comics, at least it still has the spirit of the comic about an unknown man fighting against a corrupt, fascist government even if they're doing it for different reasons (V in the comics fought in the name Anarchy while V in the movie is fighting for freedom and the people).
When I first saw this, I was not in a good mood. I thought this was overrated. I watched it again a year later and was angry at myself for not appreciating the masterpiece that it was.

I’d like for it to be adapted again but as a miniseries. This adaptation was too Americanised and might as well have set it in USA. The graphic novel was more about causing chaos to bring in order under a fascist dictatorship. This was about more freedom and more appealing to American audiences. I appreciate the attempt but it was poorly executed that missed the point
