HIs lifts were better than mine at 210 body weight. Too many internet viewers are used to seeing the Jujimufu's and Larry Wheels of the world and assume anyone who doesn't look like them doesn't lift. A non-juiced lifter doesn't look like much in a tee-shirt but can still post decent numbers.

I’m referring to the end of your video in regards to the honesty. I am 57 years old, I’ve had the crap beaten out of my body through sports and work. I just had my doctor tell me you need to start thinking about a shoulder replacement. I like the philosophy that you put forward, lifting to be a bad ass 90. I hear you! I am 50 and in the same boat. But hey, compared to most men our age, we are in the top 10% (based on an online 1RM calculator I use) of strength which I pray leads to longevity.

these are really impressive lifts. I'm about 200lbs. been training consistently for almost 5 years and just recently hit a PR of 405 on deadlift. 500lbs at 180lbs is damn impressive!

I suppose there really is a lot of variance in how fast performance manifests. Maybe you didn't focus as much on strength early on, or your training volume was less. Maybe you weigh more at a given bodyfat percentage than me because you're taller than me. Who knows? What I mean is I weighed 210 and pulled 410 in March. I'm 5'8.5" (174 cm). I was pretty soft and I didn't really realise it until I'd been cutting for a while. I had been training for 3 years and 2 ½ months at that point. Unfortunately, I've had to spend a lot of 2023 cutting. It will have been nearly half of it in the end, but that's okay. I will be leaner, tighter, fitter, and have much more room to build more muscle without becoming overfat. The key is just to repeat this cycle, and to build as much muscle as you can. It makes you stronger, it increases your metabolism, your testosterone, everything. Then you can get neurological and skill adaptations through a strength phase and set big new PRs. Then you cut again and gain back your strength pretty soon after you start bulking again, even though you're lighter.

In in the UK and came across your channel when researching ideas for my own home gym now that our kids have all left home and I have more time and space to train. You have definitely inspired me and given me the motivation to make the best home gym I can. There are loads of people posting training videos and going for the big lifts, your channel is different and all the better for it as you focus on the home gym set ups.
