    Great to see another video this morning on the CX.
    We all fully understand how the rest of life can get in the way of the fun stuff. No worries. Keep at it, and keep us up to date as best you can.

    I love this channel, I love the work you do, my one gripe has always been the music selection. Today though, the music was so perfect at 3:25. Great work on this video

    hey, i have just done a complete build on my cx 500.. i have the same speedo/tack. If you connect the watertemp wires from the bike to the fuel level wire on the speedo, you get a perfectly working watertemp dial. it starts blinking until it gets warmer, and will go about halfway up when warm.. hottest mine have been after 1 hour on the highway. 120kph ish. is 75% way up to full tank (watertemp) ;) works perfectly

      Good idea, after riding it last week though I think I'm going to be changing it as I don't like it too much, but good tip.

    Man that sounds nice. Did you figure out the misfiring in cylinder 2? Well here in October I'll finally have a place to start working on my '81 GS650GL Suzuki. I put it away in 2012 after riding it home from work and it was only running on 2 cylinders and I could only do 50mph. It's been wrecked, tank dented, seat dry rotted and it's going to need a lot of love. I've had this since 2001. I hope y'all will watch my vids when I get started.

    How often do you work on the bike? Im a newbie about to buy my first bike and would like to know how much time i have to invest on it to make it a café racer. Btw im buiyng a bike that is running so i dont have to mess with the engine too much. Great Video!

    Sounds great, looking forward to seeing it all together and running on the road. Really looking forward to seeing your tacho wiring video. I have the same tacho on my GSX750ES and getting the revs to work was more complex than I thought. Are you driving the speedo from the front or rear wheel? I did the rear as making a mount was easier at the back. Doing the DGR myself in Oslo, really looking forward to it. Keep up the good work, Stuart

      Thanks, for the mount for the front I've just attached it to the existing mounts on the mudguard.

    you need to sync the tool before u can sync your carbs!! there may be inconsistencies between the gauges as the gauges are man-made. If you get a hand held pressure tool tester u might find that if you pump both gauges to 20 psi , one gauge might show 21psi...

    • @drummer781
      @drummer781 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      while the other might show 18 psi. Once you find how much each gauge is naturally off by, u can either add or subtract the amount while syncing the carbs. in a nutshell, just because the needles are pointing to the same numbers on both gauges, the gauges might be off too, in turn making the syncing process useless until u identify and essentially zero-out your gauges.

    Hi great video but I don't think you actually showed how to sink the carbs. I've just done mine and you have to adjust that screw and adjust the idle speed at the cable end. Something about the right hand cylinder is only affected by the balance screw, that's what it says in the manual 👍

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah you can adjust the idle with the cable, but synchronising is just making sure that the intake of both Carburettors are the same as each other. You can only adjust the right hand carb as the left hand is the base carb. E.g. If you're working on 4 carbs 3 of the carbs need to sync to the 1 base carb

    Can you make a video on how to shorten the throttle/clutch cables when going from the stock handle bars to clip ons?
    I couldn’t find a way to route the cables and not have them bind due to the lower location of the hand controls

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest I haven't done that yet, I've shortened the choke cable though with a solderless nipple

    • @diegougaz7727
      @diegougaz7727 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aha! solderless nipples might be what I'm looking for... I was going to try and use the soldering method but that sounds way easier so I'll give those a shot, thanks!

    I think a DARYL REPLICA bike from The Walking Dead would be a great next project. Not seen anyone do one in the uk and think it would fetch a lot if you were to sell it.

    You need to just bite the bullet and go with a set of murrays carbs. They'll come ready to slap on. 8 months of building with my cx and bought his carbs instead of fooling with factory carbs. Engine fired right up and is a beast with his.

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All good. No need as this is all set up good for this exhaust now. These work brilliantly now. No doubt murrays carbs are good but these are perfect now
