    I don't know why but the Lawful Sith Warrior just made more sense, half the "evil" actions you could take didn't make any sense, more often they just were bad tactical decisions or ignoring diplomacy. I mean I get it I'm a sith but maybe this is why we keep losing wars?

    • @vonfaustien3957
      @vonfaustien3957 3 ปีที่แล้ว +187

      Infighting is the main reason sith start to lose and you can call out the empire for it as an empire character in the rise of the Hutt cartel stuff.
      All the republic classes stories have you cripple major empire operations.
      Of the empire stories only the bounty hunters end story boss is republic and even than you can kill a dark council member. Both sith classes are fighting other sith and the agents stopping a third party hostile to both sides.
      It says alot when the only imperial class whose main story is to fight the republic isn't even an imperial

      @@Kruzeda exactly. Going full 24/7 Dark Side feels so stupid. You become little better than a rabid dog. I prefer the Sith Code to the Jedi Code but my main issue with it is because so many treat it as a free pass for doing whatever the hell you want. Yes freedom is the end goal but there are still consequences. That's why after my Republic runs when I played Empire characters I included rules for them, lines they wouldn't cross unless the story itself made them do it without my input or it made tactical sense to do it.
      Warrior: No killing civilians
      Inquisitor: Don't enslave others
      Bounty Hunter: Don't be a Droid with the contract
      Agent: Limit casualties to bare minimum whenever possible
      Made them so much more enjoyable and immersive to play.

    • @Garyof11
      @Garyof11 3 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      @@swiftstrike4044 Wow. I play a sith marauder and incorporated that rule as well because of an 'warrior code' my marauder goes by that influences decisions. If there was no challenge to be had then there is no point. Although I also take it a step further and if an opponent shows a noticeable display of honor or some kind of redeeming quality my marauder will let them live. Other than that all other decisions are for advancing the empire. (Side note though, my sith regardless of what's going on tends to execute those who lack respect)

      Even if you do follow the light side, you're still Sith, you still believe in the Sith code and the Empire's society. But unlike every other Siths, you don't kill out of pleasure, only when it's necessary. In the Sith society, people who follow that way are looked down upon but they're actually more powerful in personal power and influence than those who just kill everyone around them. It's better to both command respect and fear than just fear.
      Basically, you're playing like Count Dooku. You use your head rather than fall to your bloodthirst.

    I wanted to roleplay as a sith warrior who loves fighting strong opponents but is completely devoted to the empire. I started messing up the story around Dromund Kaas. For example, at Grathan’s estate, I chose to spare the wife and son and kill Grathan becuase he was the stronger opponet, but I think I should’ve just stuck to my mission and killed the woman and the manchild. Any advice for doing this roleplay well? Should I make him more of a tactician who always strategizes to get the best outcome for the Empire, or more of a bloodthirsty warrior who lives to fight challenging opponents?

    • @Vorph_Legacy
      @Vorph_Legacy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +98

      I play my warrior as a mix of both actually, he's honor bound and follows a strict warrior's code but is 100% Sith, loyal to the glory of the Empire and it's hierarchy [ that's why he always bows to Baras and his superiors but talks with total authority to anyone below him]. He never misses a chance of test himself against other warriors, whether tribal or civilized and as a pureblood has a background related to the nobility which gives him knowledge in military tactics, philosophy and a bit of megalomania of course, at least that's the way I intend to roleplay him. Feel free to check out his campaign on my channel for more ideas. Cheers!

      It actually sounds a lot like my inquisitor. My inquisitor values knowledge, and he loves a challenge, may it be in combat or in sheer power of the force he always looks for opponents, even going out of his way to limit the usage of his own power. But when it comes to the Empire, no cost is too great. He wants to see the Empire thrive and prosper, he wants the Empire to last for a long time after he dies, and not let it succumb to the squabbles of certain Sith. When it comes to the Empire he would sacrifice anything in order for it to survive, even his own life wouldn’t be out of the question. Some may call it fanatic, perhaps you’re right. But he thanks his life to the Empire, without him being send to Korriban he would’ve died long ago, without the Empire he would have never become so powerful, and without the Empire, he wouldn’t have anyone to rule over.

    • @madrazz8888
      @madrazz8888 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      In that case, since he's completely loyal to the Empire, the Empire and missions should take priority. Any strong opponents would be a bonus and he could take them on with pleasure as long as it doesn't compromise the mission.
      My warrior is more of a serious, military type. More like a weapon than a soldier. The Empire comes first, no matter what, and he's strict about the chain of command, following the Sith way. Of course, he likes a tough opponent like any Sith, perhaps the only time he enjoys himself. Personally, he strives for more power always, even though loyal to the Emperor, he'd take the throne in a heartbeat :p

    • @DarthNoox
      @DarthNoox 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@madrazz8888Exactly, the Empire and its survival take priority for my Inquisitor. Many of the things he does are for the good of the Empire, even if something is to benefit himself, it most likely will benefit the Empire as well. My Inquisitor would also take the throne, but not in a heartbeat, he would need to plan. But seeing as Vitiate posed a threat to the Empire, Emperor or not, he was an enemy and needed to be eliminated. He also has a certain viewpoint on the Sith themselves. He condemns Sith that only fight for pure sadistic pleasure without any benefit. He does, however, endorse Sith like Marr, who are able to put the Empire before their personal interests. And about the Military, the Empire is a very militarized society and thus my Inquisitor values the chain of command as well, but he is not afraid of hearing criticism from officers, within reason of course

      Its a reference to his commitment to his men he's displayed previously. He doesnt mind confessing and being killed for what he did if it means saving the troops under him. He values the wellbeing of his troops more than his own life. He stayed to fight you ignoring the jedi's offers to sacrifice to buy time for his escape for the sake of stopping you and helping his men evacuate. It also suggests he might have some sort of depression or at least sucidal thoughts as he says to the Sith Warrior "you have something I don't anymore." I loved Balmora.
    The music. The story. The 1st time you get a Real challenge.
    And yet, some people to this day, refuse to play SWTOR because it feels like you are "on rails". Pff

    What does it mean by lawful evil?

    • @nalrashido
      @nalrashido 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Lawful Evil on the Alignment character that is common in Dungeons and Dragons means that the person does evil shit but they *do* have a level of "Honor" or code of conduct. They will obey the letter of the Law, but not the spirit, and are usually very careful about giving their word.
      If a Chaotic Evil Character does evil stuff for the Lols or for destructions sake. A Lawful Evil character does evil shit for pragmatic reasons. Lawful Evil Characters are typically Tyrants, Dictators or Devils. "Peace through tyranny." is a common saying amongst Lawful Evil Characters.

      Exposing the Republic is a far more significant blow to them than just be the regular _twirling mustache villain_ and kill everyone in the room with no further payoff.

    This game really did have little consistency or sense in what was considered light side or dark side. I get how sparing the civilians and surrendering troops is a good thing but your character is doing it for incredibly selfish and evil reasons.

    Lol, Swotor's morality system is really bizarre. So the "light side" decision is to not execute everyone. Ok... except you're still fighting for an evil empire that enslaves and murders everyone it runs into.
