Nah, he fled the Kaggath and ran to the Council to demand that they help him out, that was his whole shpiel, in the beginning, demanding that they take action and then he states that they'll pay for it when he is required to actually face combat alone. The only reason he didn't keep shouting was that he wasn't trying to pose as the Emperor's Wrath, he didn't have the authority to give them orders.
Since this happen after you help Darth Decimus on Corellia, and we can see him in the hologram watching the whole fight, I imagine Darth Decimus eye-rolling at Thanaton when he was making his speech.
That speech wad pretty lame. I mean he went on and on about the greatness and sacredness of the challenge, but I'm like "then why'd you run away bruh?"

Dominating the spirits and refusing to set them free is among the few dark side choices that I make as an inquisitor. Like I'm going to give that power up.
I was all set to release them. Then they betrayed my ass and tried to drive me insane. At that point I'm like "bitch please! Enjoy the remainder of your existence serving as my batteries..."
I think it's implied that after you release those ghosts you can get that level of power back through your search for power. I've never played the expansions so I don't know if it's ever brought up again.

I can't die while I have them bound to me, and they can't leave without permission. If you let them free, one does choose to stay, but they are free to leave if they like, that's just not good.

Kinda wish that if lets say you had a Sith Warrior and you reach the final battle with Darth Baras in the Dark Council that one of the members of the Dark Council present is your Sith Inquisitor or at the very least have a voice line where someone says "Darth Nox is unable to get to the meeting" to at least imply the existence of your other character.
Both battles happen on the same day, but the warrior's battle goes first, which you can see when you play as the warrior, Vowrawn is fashionably late, but he is present when Nox takes power
Also Councils bows to Wrath before Thanatos dead We can see how he bows I don't want see Inqv bowing to Warrior... So that's good that Warrior's ending goes first
The punishment of breaking any rule of the Kaggath is that a Sith not involved in the Kaggath must execute them, Mortis, and many others, respected him and wanted to follow this rule without making him suffer.
I don't know the timelines of the character stories, but it would be cool if you saw your own Sith Inquis sat on the council if you completed it before your sith warrior.

you know thanaton could of avoided all this had he simply not tried to kill the inquisitor right off the bat. he was almost a likeable guy besides his purity and well this person was a traitor so that means everyone associated with them was a traitor mind set.

i cant remember where i read it exactly, but someone once posted a comment saying the light side inquisitor is by far the most dangerous kind of Sith. He doesnt simply kill and destroy all in his way. instead he works subtly, he subverts the morals and beliefs of others and slowly but surely brings them in line with his own. A master manipulator, he'll turn you to his side and against your own, without you even realising it.
Really epic ending. The only thing that would make it better, if entering the instance would require Khem Val, and after the Thanaton was defeated and was crawling on a floor, Sith Inquisitor would say "Khem, feast!" and he would devour Thanaton's life force in front of the Dark Council.
I like to think this would've been before. Would be fun to see if you completed the inquisitor story 1st you can been on the counsil at the battle with Darth Baras
Why is the sith inquisitor ending so much cooler than the sith knight?!!! This is so great! Baras was nothing, literally whent down crying for help yet this guy fights you all the way while you become more of a beast!!
Sheev accomplished what the Sith Empire attempted to accomplish for decades in a single day, I'd say that makes him a good Sith. Sure, he couldn't keep his Empire around for a long time, but his feats are not to be underestimated.
Thanaton was so well-writen. God, I couldn't stand him, which is what good writing does. Baras, by contrast, was a one-trick (albeit powerful one trick) pony.

It wasn’t originally that way, a lot of gated story content was scaled down when the level scaling for planets was introduced
