JIMMIE TOKITA "Mississippi Delta Blues"
When night shadows creep aboutというあたりの歌いまわしなど、涙が出そうなほど素晴らしいと思います。
LYRICS
Friends around and even pals I know are true
Still I 'm lonely home-sick and blue
There's no one who can cheer me when I'm alone
Longin' for my Mississippi home
(CHORUS)
Way down on the delta on the Mississippi shore
In that muddy water I long to be once more
When night shadows creep about and the whipperwill call
You can hear ol' mammy shout " Come in here you all"
Way down on the Levi strolling in the pale moon light
You can hear those steamboats and the fields of snowy white
There's the feelin' I can't lose , the muddy water 's in my shoes
When I get the Mississippi delta blues
Deliheeheelei hee
Mouth -Trombone interlude
I long to hear them talk and sing those ol' melodies
Swany River and Old Black Joe
That sweet magnolia perfume floatin' on the breeze
Way down south there's where I long to be
i love this guy! i think its great that this style reached even japan.
Did you find him on tik tok like me lol ? This is fantastic!
This guy is great; where's his audience of thousands?
Reminds me a bit of Leon Redbone.
Yeah,he 's got the style. Thanks for your
nice comment. Domo Arigatto. And I'm
uploading "For The Good Times" (and other songs )soon.
Excellent - better than the Jimmy Rodgers original for sure!
When was this recorded?
