Live footage of Sandy is SO rare - makes this very precious. Only other one I've seen here on TH-cam is a partial "White Dress" - anything else I've missed? Much appreciated. 🥰

The Fotheringay box set released about 5 years ago has a DVD with 4 songs from the 1970 German 'Beat Club' TV session. All of the 'Beat Club' recordings are of excellent quality. Unlike the BBC, they kept their tapes of early 1970s bands. All of the Fotheringay videos have been on TH-cam at some point. The songs were:
      'Nothing More'
      'Gipsy Davey'
      'John The Gun'
      'Too Much of Nothing'
Also on TH-cam is film of three songs that Sandy recorded for a BBC programme in the early 1970s.
      Songs are:
      'Late November'
'North Star Grassman and the Ravens'
      'Crazy Lady Blues'
There are also few very grainy videos, presumably from the same Birmingham show as this 'Matty Groves' video, with Sandy singing at the piano. Songs include 'John the Gun', 'Solo' and 'Like an Old Fashioned Waltz'. I am hoping that better quality film may emerge one day.

3:21 @@karischenk8216 I have never seen a video of 'Who Knows Where the Time Goes' but there were videos from German TV of Fotheringay playing 'John The Gun', 'Nothing More' and 'Too Much of Nothing'.
There is also the BBC video of Sandy singing 'Late November', 'North Star Grassman' (both at the piano) and playing 'Crazy Lady Blues' on guitar.

It’s a shame that so little performance video of Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention are still in existence. But the selling point the videotape companies made is that while the tape was initially more expensive than film, the tape could be wiped clean and reused. It was also thought at the time that few in TV audiences would want to see shows after they’d been aired.

Huge thanks for the upload. It has made my day! I have only ever seen a brief 15 second clip of this that I recorded on VHS from a programme about Island Records in the mid-1980s. I was starting to think I had imagined it!
Sadly, Sandy Denny was gone just before I discovered her music. Such a beautiful voice and a great songwriter.
I saw Natalie Merchant do a wonderful impromptu version of 'Matty Groves' in a tiny Yorkshire venue on a really warm, never to be forgotten evening in July 2018.

Saw Fairport at the Sydney Opera House in the early 1970s - it was not known that Sandy was with them - she made her entrance to a darkened stage as the band played the opening notes of Matty Groves - still puts a chill up my spine

I assume that's the gig that partly comprises the 'Fairport Live Convention' album (1974) whose inner sleeve has them standing in front of the Opera House. If so I'm very jealous.

ah she really was great. Some subtle little vocal moves in here that proved that. Can anyone name the musicians? That's not Swarbrick on fiddle, I don't think ... My dad used to be nuts for Sandy's solo LP, and I've never wanted to hear that sad record again ... but I'm coming around. Something about 'these days ... they move so slow.' Also, I think it was about her that Richard & Linda Thompson sang "Was she drunk or was she pushed?" ... or was that about The Johnstons' main fine singer?
