Thanks for the video & if I may, I'd like to ask you a question about this game in photo mode: I've got the PS5 version & can't figure out if there's a button to snap the photo, otherwise I've just been taking screenshots of the photo but besides the button missing to shoot the shot, it's a brilliant photo mode

As I’m getting older I’m really beginning to appreciate the more arcadey racing games that use real world locations and cars because sometimes I don’t want to spend hours mastering ‘realistic’ driving physics…. I’m at a point with gaming where I just want to have fun and have things work, even if they may be unrealistic 😅
Man, this is me as well. Having kids and no time during the day, I only get a couple hours to myself at the end of the night. I want immediate fun, after grinding all day in real life 😂

The cinematic approach with actors in the story line makes this game one of my favourites of the genre. Probably the best single player campaign so i've seen in a racing game so far.
It is a huge highlight!
Guess you wasn't around to play any ps1 games because all ps1 games did the cinematic cutscene

For those who care - I wanted to mention Grid Legends has particularly good toggled 3d headphone audio support on a ps5, not alot of games do, with a pair of headphones it really jacks up the immersion fun factor. GG all
I’m hooked I just finished the season 1 story. Buying the expansion which is something I rarely do
Good review, play in the first person, turn the HUD down to the minimum and find the right controller settings and this is great simcade game. An improvement on Grid 2019

I, too, like cartoonish arcade racing games more than realistic racing games. I would also appreciate a game that combines the two.

I own & love all the "Grid" games except this new "Legends", I really appreciate the 2019 reboot as I can drive my newer Dodge Challenger which I owned which brought it a little closer to home.
I have seen several game reviews for this new one but for some odd reason just haven't picked it up yet & played it yet but your excellent profile of it here & now just changed that my friend, great exciting points throughout & most enticing commentary with terrific editing of the games best aspects!

You will love the story mode and this 's being said by sombody who really dislikes single player modes in racing games.
I will probably play this for the campaign. Racing games tend to have non existent ones and while I get it, the games can be kind of boring to play after a while. I felt that with Burnout 3. Jak X is my favorite racing game campaign tbh
I just got a ps5 slim last week and I'd not played a racer in a while but loved Grid on the 360, many fond memories with a life long friend who sadly passed now, I remember how hard the last race at Le Mans was to win, you literally had to punt the oppo car off and then drive 2 perfect laps to win. So when I seen this Grid on PS5 I took a punt on it and wow! Its great fun! Night and day to GT7, I played that for hours at a friends mainly doing gold license test's and it bored me to death. This racing game is great fun I highly recommend it if you want racing to be fun and exhilarating!
Been playing this and having lots of fun. I played the original GRID on ps3 and never forgot how fun it was.
Just bought the EA Racing Mega Collection on Steam. Grid Legends is one of the games in the bundle and the only one I knew nothing about. I was a bit nervous if it's a more realistic racer but your review does make me excited to try it out.

It feels SO good to play. And i love sim-cade racing but this feels like the perfect blend for arcade folks who want something vaguely realistic. Its like 80 arcade/20 sim because the car reacts great to breaking and steering that is believable but feels heavily assisted but in a good way, as in you are still in control! Great game ive been having a blast with the story and then I’ll probably hit the career mode because the racing is so much fun!
I almost missed this game as well. Now I have to say, I play this daily. Really good races and love the aspect of speed and variety of tracks. Great game 😎🤪🥳

So the problem with the GRID series is their simcade approach. What chiefly sells an arcade racer is the visual improvement over the titles that came before, or an entirely different presentation. Because GRID can't entirely drop it's sim aspirations it features real world or real world inspired locations which means that as soon as you have 2 games on the same graphics engine you visually have the same game twice bar a few tweaks, and that's never popular. GRID Autosport was just GRID2 but a bit bigger and with some tweaks. GRID Legends is just GRID (2019) but bigger and with some tweaks. Add to that barely any marketing and you've got a flop.
GRID2 however was a massive overall upgrade over the original GRID. It ended up still a worse game overall because it abandoned the more hardcore roots of the Race Driver series but a worthwhile entry because of everything new it brought to the table. GRID (2019) embraced the simcade spirit even more but since it was once again a massive update to the series it was a worthwhile entry.
They need to release GRID games further apart and wait till people are hungry for a new title again. Basically what I'm saying is Legends was too little too soon.
I'll get the game eventually, but I'm in exactly zero hurry.

Didn't get a chance to play Grid 2019 as I didn't like the way third person view looked. Legends has more of an angle to see the road better. What a reason to not play Grid 2019 eh?
Grid Legends is just an excuse to sell the fixes for the previous game as a separate product. They could just apply the fixes and add more content to 2019, but they figured it's better to sell those for $60 instead of as free updates and $8 DLC's.

@@joethealternativegamer3935 i enjoyed th 2019 this one feels like a better updated version which is a good thing in my opinion. I get bored playing horizon 5 cause the sense of speed seems really slow compared to grid

Great game, but had problem with update, said needed updating so proceed with the 20GB+ update, work fine until the next day when for unknown reasons it started to load the base game again so i lost the update data, checked my hard disk size and it was fine, no idea why this happened
Yeah Grid is great and i play ACC GT etc aswell. The AI and damage is very good in Grid and your goung to have fun close racing , it actully offers alot that other racers dont have so well worth at least giving it a go when on offer.
Cool to hear a sim guy from ACC endorse this game! Incredibly fun arcade racing with just a little splash of realism! So much fun!
I had fun with this game, played all that a can in the base game through EA Play, thinking about getting the deluxe upgrade

I've played Racedriver GRID (both PC and NDS), GRID Autosport (Switch and mobile, via Custom Edition) and now i'm keeping an eye on Legends. To me, despite the first game having the best structure and tone out of the two i played, i prefer Autosport as it is still fairly complex in some aspects, the driving model is much better and it doesn't include that piss filter that every game from the 2000s had (seriously that thing sucked so bad, the only game i know that managed to have a worse piss filter was NFS Undercover)

If they keep making improvements on Grid like Legends, I'll keep buying them. This game is seriously fun & it's arcadey but great fun & not too serious

Most people are salty that EA bought Code Masters, but it's the best Grid by far.
A burnout 3 style game with these graphics would be incredible. I can't believe ea still hasn't redone that game. I guess they are too cheap to buy the music again

I hate open world arcade racing games, grid legends was a breath of fresh air and reminded me of the ps2 era of arcade track racing games, track racing games are so much better than these open world variants where every track layout looks the same and there are no real world locations, both need for speed and the crew have Been highly overrated and boring, codemasters are the masters of AAA track racing games

It’s easy to pick up and play a few races when you feel like racing but don’t want an overly hard and sweaty experience
I agree. I stopped caring about 'simulation' racing games years ago when they were encouraging people to get force feedback wheels & the 'games' became like a full time job, where the player had to learn how to drive, set up the car & all the rest.
Give me a great console arcade racer any day over that.
