@nickbarefitness Love the page man. Slowly building my volume with my runs while still strength training. Just curious to see what your running warmup consists of. Thanks again for the content, Matt.
I ran my first Half Marathon yesterday in Montreal in 1h40.30s. You've been a massive inspiration in the past months of preparation. Thank you and keep up the work!
I did my first outdoor run yesterday since I had my full knee reconstruction due to a sporting injury - I only managed 2.65km and it took me 21 minutes. I’m so far from where I want to be and where I know I’ll end up but you motivate and inspire me to push myself towards my goals. Thank you for what you share and keep doing you 💪🏻
I’m training for my first marathon rn so these videos makes me feel like I’m training with nick and I’m motivated as hell because of these videos G1M BABY!!! Congrats on the 1,000,000 subscribers as well
It’s so true that you get that satisfaction through enduring the process. This past April I did back to back marathons (tough ruck marathon and Boston marathon). I had two weeks to prepare after only strength training the 4 months before and never running a marathon. I ran 3 times in the two weeks I had before doing the two marathons. I told my self I could suffer through it cause I was disciplined and I don’t quit. That’s exactly what got me through both of these marathons. As huge of an accomplishment it was, it didn’t give me a satisfaction. I didn’t endure a long hard process to get me through these two marathons. It’s the long hard process that gives you an outcome which gives you the satisfaction. I just had the outcome. It’s like given a test in school that you didn’t study for and getting an A on it. If you studied for a test that you knew nothing about and got yourself to learn all the material to get yourself an outcome of an A then you feel great. It makes me wonder what I could do if I actually endure a process this year. That’s exactly what I’m doing. Enjoy the process! Go one more!
Nick, a few months ago having never run more than 4 miles at once I decided to signed up for a marathon after reading Goggins book "Cant Hurt Me". I've always been a terrible runner and hated it with a passion. Always making excuses that my knees hurt, my ankles hurt, I'm just not a runner. That all changed when I started applying your principles and listing to your advise on training. I'm indebted to you and your team for this. I cant express my gratitude and have seen a huge increase in my capacity for endurance AND speed. The marathon is in 2 months and I'm up to 11 miles as of yesterday. Just wanted to say thanks for all the solid info you give and the effort you put into this company and vlog. I am extremely happy for your new location. You deserve it after all you give to people like me. Go One More!
Good luck! I've kinda been the same, rather play sports and weight train cause I find running boring. Even tho I tell myself I want to run more. Let us know how it goes
About to run my first half marathon in February at the age of 43. Shooting for under 90min. I ran an easy out and progressive back on a super hilly course last week in 1:34. Felt easy. Found running this January after a bout of poor health and anxiety. It has completely changed my life. No one can believe that I am new to running. I didn’t think I was that fast honestly! I was a competitive swimmer but never ran unless the swim coach made us. lol. Now I’m thinking about trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon but going 3:04 seems like a tall task. We’ll see if Father Time spares me for a bit longer. Love your videos man! They’ve helped me stay excited about my potential and to believe in the process. All the best!
I love watching these videos! You're one of the people I started watching as inspiration to start running and I'm up to 5 miles as my long run after about two months of training for a marathon. Keep it up!
Ran my first half on Sunday in 2:08. I wanted sub 2 but i'll take it because I had covid 3 weeks ago. You were a massive inspiration to get into running nick, thanks!
I'm not sure if Nick edits his own videos, but his choice of music is proper. I always find my favorite songs playing in his videos or I find new favorites through his videos. DLZ by TV on the Radio was also in this video and that's a tune

I love hearing about your mental game! The approach of just settling into a comfortable pace, going on auto pilot, and taking it mile by mile/brick by brick was really helpful 🤙
Sometimes I love running and sometimes I really can't be bothered. A super useful thing I tell myself is to 'don't think, just move'. I don't allow myself to start thinking about how I don't want to do it. I just go through the motions of putting my shoes on, getting my watch and water bottle, and heading out the door. Nike had it right - 'just do it'
Training for my first marathon. Your videos are the best on TH-cam for inspo/info so I was happy to get on your site and get some gear to support ya. Thank you for sharing the knowledge brother.
I still remember watching your videos when you were in the Army. You have come along way. Congratulations. Also I was in Tacoma Bass Pro Shops the other day and seen someone with the BPN hat. You all the way up here. GO ONE MORE
Hey Nick! Over the last months I prepped and finally ran my first marathon in Berlin last sunday in 3h30! THX for all the inspiration along the way during this year. Your content is just awesome motivation!
@@stevenopolis23 I'm aware. I mean, in the context of sports nutrition, it's basic. That is to say, widely available, and found in the majority of sports/endurance carbohydrate products. Not to mention, can be bought in bulk and is inexpensive.
Since my first half back in 2021, "Needle In The Hay" has constantly been the first song in my race day playlist, along with some more Elliot Smith tunes. I don't know why, it should not be a song that pumps you up. Yet, my first race was in a super cloudy november morning, and that song was the first one popping to mind that day as I woke up super early. I nailed that race. Never changed the playlist
We really needed this as much as you and BPN. You’ve done so much and to your viewers your on top, and we loved watching that growth. Recently it’s felt you’ve reached a pinnacle and with that is always some feelings of say it isn’t so your at the top with nowhere left to go. NOPE! New office in Nashville with more growth to come! That’s awesome Nick, good for you guy! I will now enjoy this marathon prep even more! Good luck buddy
I’d be curious to hear thoughts on the strategy behind having a satellite location in Nashville. That is not just an easy drive back and forth, so I am curious as to why splitting time in between.
I still find running such a fascinating sport. Like your track workout 1k is a 3:35min but then I watch other TH-cam marathoners like Luis Orta and he warms up at 3min 1k pace. Like insane! I am so motivated and chasing you guys. My fave runner is Tommy Rivs! Go One More!
Hell yeah! This video was amazing! Been watching lots of BPN and Nick Bare for a couple years now and this video might be my favorite! Love the film quality and the music overlay everything! So inspiring and motivating that Nick is chasing his sub 2:45 as I am chasing my sub 3:00. Love watching all the challenges and journeys!Keep up the great content, motivation, podcast, and products! The BPN team is unmatched! GO ONE MORE!
It's crazy to see the spots you run. I lived in Nashville for years and the last time I was on that airstrip I was in the middle of a 50-miler in 2015. I now live in Austin and run a lot of the same spots too. We still commute back to Nashville about monthly, so hopefully our paths cross one day!
How do you manage to maintain this amount of muscle mass while training for a marathon and lifting weights? In all my preparation cycles I lose a lot of weight, doing 5 workouts a week, one of which is long, and lifting weights 3 times a week until days before the race, even with a specific diet. I can't understand it...
I can't see any other alternative. Look, I don't give a damn if this guy takes drugs, probably tests and EPO, and that's his right. But to use that and sell those results as being natural is a tremendous scam. You don't see any athlete in the world, both sub elite and amateur with gets this excellent results, weighing 200lbs and running a 3:45m/km pace. Money above all else!
Welcome to Nashville!! 🤘🏽 Picking the best spots for sure running-wise; another good one for some trail work is Percy Warner Park, so be sure to add that to your spots to hit up!
