Reviewing and discussing every game in the Dead to Rights series, taking a look at every iteration of Jack Slate and his dog Shadow from the Gameboy Advance all the way to the PlayStation 3 and nearly every console in between. This is a supercut of my prior Dead to Rights review videos, but this longer version adds a detailed look at the Gameboy Advance port of Dead to Rights 1 as well as the PSP title Dead to Rights Reckoning. So be sure to check out those specific chapters if you've seen my prior videos, or just watch the whole thing because they all wrap together very nicely and it's interesting to see how the series progressed, or regressed, depending on who you ask.

The funniest takeaway from this is you not believing that jack is struggling to lift 125kg while having a Soylent ad break right after
😂😂
Fun fact: this game was post to be base from " escape from LA". Some of the levels did show up did show up in this game.
I think I had been around 7-8 when I got my hands on this game. Will say didn’t replay the stripper level other than failing the button prompt. But around the same time I did get in a little bit of heat for staying at the Earthy delights club in Suran in Morrowind.
A true lad of culture
" I was about to do something real stupid" *throws gun away*
you already did lol
It’s crazy because I was waiting for you to upload because I binge watch your videos🔥. This a classic
Thanks dude!
"From the comfort of a boeing plane." Well that's when they're not having blowouts or other myriad of problems.
That's why I say "the only anxiety I have is if the game is good enough to distract me from the hulls integrity" right after the line you quoted
The soylent sponsor gave me Yongyea Kiryu flashbacks
Lol. I really hate that they chose him of all people for Kiryu
Amazing to see your channel growing!!!
Glad to see you again!
I didn't watched the video, i just wanted to tell that you're doing God's work by spreading the iconic greatness of VC hammer
MrHammers, This is amazing! I can't stop smiling!
awesome stuff as always bro keep it up
Dude these videos are so damn good. Love this channel
Thanks dude!
This deserves more views!
man, seriously thanks for this videos.
Thank you for watching!
I keep saying that Dead to Rights should have been a one and done game, like kill.switch and Urban Reign. I would like Namco to remaster those three and release them as a package deal. But if they do, they have to be the PS2 versions. Why? Because the PS2 Dead to Rights has the cheat codes, that's why. Yeah, you might not be able to get achievements if you do that, but some sections of the game can be hard even though the PS2 version is toned down in difficulty.
i like the use of sidewalks and skeletons - sleep paralysis around the 6 minute mark
You missed it! "The man in the mansion" How didnt you make that connection?? And the last last boss was the woman over the water 😂😂😂
Damn.... How could I be so blind
@@MrHammers Its 2024. Be better sir 😂
Imma do my homework next time lol
Absolutely loved the first game. I loved the dog.
Great video! I actually love DTR Retribution! The cover based shooting is reminiscent of Gears and the combat is reminiscent of Arkham or Sleeping Dogs. And while each part of gameplay doesn’t compare independently to those, the whole is worth more than the sum of its parts for me.
I can totally see the charm in it, and out of the whole series it's the first one I'd go back and replay again
Methinks it’s Total Overdose time Mr. Hammers.
Man it’s hard to find this game. I was obsessed with this game as a kid
The first one is still on the Xbox store, I actually bought it on my Series S cause I played it a lot as a kid. Nice little trip down memory lane
IMO Dead to Rights 2 has pretty fun gunplay. And I kinda like the soundtrack. The game has crazy B-Movie Action film vibe.
This game was made on the ashes of "Escape from New York" game...
bummer
Minions at the Mansion.
You should try urban reign
The GBA version reminds me of the old True Lies SNES/Genesis game.
Something annoying about the original dead to rights is that when the right joystick controls are switched around, unless I’m doing something wrong i don’t see a way to fix this
Mr.Hammers me and you need to hangout I can tell you're definitely my age when it comes to these games😂 Man Dead To Rights was such an underrated game! I never got into to Max Payne I preferred Dead To Rights to be honest. This game was really cool to me and the prison chapter was the best part, just unique for its time period in ps2 games.
What can I say? We grew up with some dope ass games to play haha
@MrHammers yea we did buddy. Thanks for making great retro content!
Everyone shut up he’s back
I think the reason why the guy throws his gun away is due to implications.
Its a firearm that is registered witg the police and to him. So he gets rid of it to show hes essentially AWOL.
That is at least my guess.
I played this game but unfortunately it was the PC version which had no music nor cutscenes :(
Im gonna have to replay this game via emulator.
Mummy in the Mansion?
Very nice!
Reckoning on th PSP was better than Dead to rights 2 because the bodies stayed around, blood splattered on the environment, you dive into enemies and a cool disarm animation happened and you could shoot from a prone state. Seemed like 2 was meant to be the PSP game and Reckoning the console game.
There're multiple?!
I’m glad I got Dead To Rights Retribution on xbox 360 because there are no complete copies on ebay 😬
Lets goooo
I liked part 2 the most. I never played the newest one 🤷🏾♀️ i only learned about the psp game like 7 or 6 years ago. I liked the first game the least. The newest one looks cool but mam his making so slow
While DTR had more to do and the story was a pretty nice die hard camp plot, I think I could play DTR2 before I play DTR again. God, the gun and melee gameplay were BAD in the first one. The slow mo got me killed more often than not, the snipers NEVER MISS no matter the distance so you're bleeding damage anytime they're around and you're not in cover, and the melee combat was bullshit; you would think you can counterattack after the enemy whiffs their combo, but they get to dodge and weave you anyway, and you don't get the same luxury. I dunno how you beat Hennesey so easily... but then I did play the whole game on hard.
Funny thing about the bosses in 2 is that while they have their weird invincibility thing going on, you can cheese them out with throwing weapons to keep stunlocking them. Do it right and the cowboy boss never gets a chance to call for backup.
Gotta agree about Reckoning, the fuk was up with that damn camera. Nearly ruins the whole game. Along with the lockon that decides to loclk on to a different target whenever you release it. Like it's prioritizing going through somesort of a list instead of who is closest. DTR Retribution is pretty good like you said though, and has the coolest looking Jack Slate of them all (hated the designs for him in DTR2/Reckoning) but I never even knew they had a gameboy version. Want to try it, but it certainly sounds like trash.
Overall, really enjoyed this blast from the past. Never played Max Payne, but I've alwyas been curious about that series so I'll check out those videos next.
creamed my jeans when i read the title
as an autistic person, i find original jack more real than the reboot😂.
HEEEEEEEES BAAAAAAAAAAAACK
No more hero’s franchise?
💚💚💚💙💗
I mean releasing the games in the same genre does not make them clones.
Being the same genre isn't why I call them clones, but using the same gameplay mechanics and presentation is pretty obviously a clone. It's not a bad thing, but devs definitely do it. An innovative game comes out and then studios start wanting to make a game like _____. Happens with every popular game and Max Payne was one of them. Same with GTA 3, God of War, etc
@@MrHammers True, true but DTR was made by Japanese with their own spin and Japanese general don`t even know that is trending and popular in the gaming world. This game most likely was inspired by 10 000 Bullets and not Max Payne.
Soyboy!
I understand we all have to pay bills, but... taking a sponsorship from Soylent? Really?
Right? Lmao
What's wrong with Soylent?
@MrHammers nothing. People love watching videos but don't like when the creators make money. Know your place, slave!
Damn some pressed soy beans really got you pressed huh?
Sir I’m glad to see your back when you gonna stream again
Hell if anything come join me while I stream bro @glitoriousttv
IDK man, Hopefully I can't get back into it, I'll check you out tho!
