Oh my gosh, thankyou so much for this, this morning I dropped my engagement ring in the car and it vanished, I had looked everywhere, under console was the last place I could think of but I didn't know how to get it out, it was so easy after watching this video and I FOUND MY RING! Woohooo!!!

I love how you show how to put it back together. Almost everyone says "That's it guys. Just do everything in reverse to put it back together."
Thank you for the great comment. Yes, alot of the time is everything done but in reverse but sometimes you need to do a little trick to get it all back together. Plus, it better to show it from start to finish.

@@TDLDIY An android 8 unit from CarNaviPlayer with Android auto and Car Play. Terrific product. I wanted to run the Android auto usb cable and the separate usb cable from the head back to the compartment in the center at rest, and want sure how to get it all apart so i could his the cables under the center console. Bingo! There was your video. perfect timing!
I have heard good things about those units. I think Android auto and Apple Car play are great addition to any vehicle. Running that usb cable is exactly what i would've done as well, plus easy connectivity close by. Thanks for sharing your project and i am glad my video could help you out along the way.

Proper home grown DIY video, right down to the Timmie's winner in the cup! Cheers for putting this out, made a breeze of cleaning & repairing the shifter slide covers that got bent & was causing a janky shift!

Perfect! My outlet and aux port in the center console were not working, found they were left unplugged under the console.

Great video! Thanks. I was wondering while you were there, did you see a bulb by the heating/cooling dial? I have a 2010 and one of those bulbs burnt out.

I cant seem to break the console loose. 4 x 8 mm bolts, i unplugged the aux cable, and the cig lighter. the two side panels are off. I had tried to wiggle the bottom like you had but it did not work. Any other suggestions would be nice thanks.

I appreciate this video. For the life of me, I can't get to the damn 12v socket connection to replace it. Any info on how to get that out would be helpful
Have you tried just checking and replacing the fuses for the 12v socket? If you have replacement them and still doesn't work and need the replacement try eBay, Amazon, dealer and or scrap yard/ pick n pull.

I can do a video when I get back I am away for work and I can look into it further. I would check the fuses like I menitioned before and I will look at making a video when I get back in a couple weeks.
@@TDLDIY you don't have to make a whole new video. I just wanted to replace the one in the console with a dual USB plugin instead. Though I will need to check the fuse anyway, because I went to use it a couple years ago and it sparked like crazy. Haven't touched it since
@@Wanderer2266 you should be able to pop it out or depress some clips to release it. The you should be about to get a universal like you want a dual usb. if it's sparking your right to change it out.
How did you unplug the aux connector? I can’t figure it out. I have the port removed just can’t get the connector to unplug.

my light is out on the 10:54 is that a bulb you just pop in ? do you know the size?
I dont think it is a bulb you can just pop in/ out. I am unsure of the size. Looks to me like a little led light that is most likely soldered directly to the wires.
If your pretty handy and you have a scrap yard near by i would go there and and get one and if you have cut it out then no big deal then you can figure how its connected.
Then swap it out with yours. This way you had one it once basically getting it out in the scrap yard and have a good idea how to do it on your car.

Hi I can help with that, You will have to put your key in and turn it to ACC should be the first click, Then while press the brake pedal you should be able to more the gear selector. I hope this helps if you have any more questions feel free to ask. Thanks for watching my Video.
Unfortunately I was trying to get it off cause I spilt some red bull down there and couldn’t get the car into drive, I eventually got it off enough to hold the gear lock back and move it into drive. Took forever though!
