And again, our council is reunited here to learn how the music can flow with our fights. Thank you, Horn Master, for the kind help you offer. You have our blessing
Exactly ! I was also doing this a lot out of habit, but I couldn't describe it easily before. It's very interesting how making videos also makes you reflect on what you know...and how to explain it :D.
@@Dooshey brotha I finally got back to this video because I played a lot of this game of course but even street fighter 4 especially they had many of these . That Actual Name for this move is called the KARA - CANCEL Or BUFFERING it's by tricking the invisible frame by using a set move or atk. During that the frame window opening .its commonly use to trick other fighters and it's the same with this game to believe you are doing a longer frame attack but defies the whole atk. Also I'm sure you're able to do it but for some that are learning SC Or KC , the move / roll evade can also be Buffered by in this case pushing the same direction button at the direction you wanna face just slightly right after the roll or the end animation and at the correct time just push the desired button or simply push the desired button 2 or 3 times non as PIANO that's also something great to research . if you decide to change direction then at that sweet spot push that button . Hope this really makes sense .Since both games are made from capcom they added these to most there games maybe something new to learn idk . Take care keep up the great vids
Stylish backslam use indeed. You're alive!! (come back to ussssss). In all seriousness, good luck in COVID bro. Detach when you can. Signed, a fellow healthcare worker
Watching the videos of griffted and Amadeus has really improved my gameplay I'm relatively new to the monster hunter series and I'm loving the HH. Stutter cancelling into a QTABS is now an integral part of my move set
Great vid. Teaching some useful techniques in a clear and understandable manner, and to boot it all great production value and editing. Keep up the quality content Amadeus!
Thank you so much for demonstrating this in a video. I have used it so much since watching. The raw damage and stun power of the backward swing is almost identical to the overhead smash, but way faster to execute. A great attack on flying monsters as well!
Another thing that may be noteworthy is that it is required if you want to do a neutral recital of song 2 or 3 in the list immediately after a roll. Otherwise, the game only allows the hunter to play song 1 after a roll.
Had to look this up again, because I was getting back into HH and wanted to make sure I knew how to pull this off. I think I actually tended to do this naturally a little, because this is a thing in DkS3 too. Most notably, you could true combo the first R1 of a two-handed scythe into another initial R1 by walking forward a touch to cancel the recovery animation, and then attack again before your opponent recovered from getting hit. It wasn’t useful for that purpose, but it was good for roll catching, or sometimes conditioning someone to expect a weird true combo, or a roll catch.
As a PC player I do this automatically and it is easier on PC as well. Because you have buttons instead of the analog stick, you have to let go of an imput and then press another when changing direction, so when you dance around a monsters head changing directions constantly it basically does the cancel by itself. Of course timing is important but the way I've been playing, I do the SC just by moving around. Still usefull to know for times when you don't change directions like continuous forward rolls
Nice! Love this content. Nowdays just speedrunning can be found eveywhere but it's just got bored to see. Too much of it. Its like "yeah we know already... Next vid". Everybody wants to perform speedrunning this days. I know how much work and hours of gameplay it takes by experience also, yet in the past speedrunning was something special, now its like a fever. I really love to see different content bro! Well done n.n!
Ah so this is what you guys call it. While playing around in the training room with SnS, I also noticed a similar control trick to change direction that the backhop comes out. It seems like within a certain window after rolling, you can nudge the stick and the game will register the direction even if the character model does not appear to follow- but you can press an attack and the model will be facing the direction you nudged, removing the need to explicitly turn the character.
That is very interesting! I didn't know other weapons had something like that too...the more you know ! Have you ever seen something similar to this with weapons other than SnS ? Thanks for watching !
Mopporon is their name. I acknowledged their contribution in the discovery of this technique. That's giving credit in my eyes. Your message seems to imply that I never acknowledged that, yet I'm the one talking about them in this video.
Another excellent video. Thank you. Do other weapons have this much depth? When I decided to try out the IG there seemed not to be as many advanced move type videos.
Just a note, if you aren't aiming for a neutral attack, you just have to let the stick hit neutral and then can hold the stick after in the direction you want to do a directional attack.
The cool thing about this is HH players can be doing this by complete accident because of the directionally dependent strikes of the weapon. I feel so safe knowing this technique now.
I'm actually doing this without realizing. I always let go of direction after roll, then input direction + button. I think it's a habit from fighting game.
It's funny that you mention fighting games. It really feels like a FG at times when you look at HH's kit (canceling, shortcuts, directional and neutral moves, etc...). The fact that I also used Street Fighter OSTs is probably not as random as I thought...
Definitely not crazy yes. I was seeing and doing this a lot without realizing before. Sometimes things seem so natural to you...but then when it comes to explaining it...then it gets complicated lol. Hope it helps !
I'm by no means a hunting horn main, but I've been dabbling with the weapon lately and I've now tried this SC in the training area for a good long while... Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but the SC is *only* helpful if you want the neutral move, right? Because the directional moves I can do right out of the roll, *before* the roll recovery even happens.
Not only for neutral moves. At 5:09 you can see that it's also useful for my superpound, aka directional move. The SC is just easier to do with a directional move, since you input a direction to begin with. That's what you've been noticing.
@@Doos No, I meant that I just keep the stick held while putting in an attack command at the end of the roll. Before the "putting horn on shoulder animation" begins, I can use a directional attack. However, I can't change the direction I'm attacking without the SC, that much is true.
This... This might explain why at times, as GS main, I end up facing totally other directions thatn the roll direction when I got weapon drawn... I''ve to see if GS has a stutter cancel
the music at the very start... now i gotta to listen to Night Surfing on repeat to get it out of my system link to music: th-cam.com/video/fxZFP4e8VaA/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the brilliant video! That is really useful! I want to show this video to my Chinese friends who unfortunately know little English and/or are blocked by the Firewall. Could I upload this video with chinese translation to chinese video site bilibili.com? I will put the link of this video and your channel in the description. I could also make a Chinese subtitle for this video, too! I look farward to your response!
I'm afraid I'm not proficient enough with the other weapons to know that. It's more of a HH specific thing, because we cancel a recovery that's unique to the HH. Maybe other weapons have recoveries that you can cancel !
It's a skip to a minor recovery animation. I believe he explained it very well in the video about what recovery animation you're skipping by doing the cancel. Granted yes it's not a huge time difference, but it makes all the difference when you're fighting an aggressive monster since you're able to act faster after an attack or roll input.
It could've been a good idea to do a side by side comparison to illustrate it better. What I recommend you to do is : press the roll button and then mash the button for an attack. Without any directional input, look at how long it takes before you can succesfully do an attack. You'll notice that the attack doesn't come out right after rolling. There is a delay and that delay is caused by this recovery 03:00.
Now I know its name is stutter cancel. Fascinating, I use it naturlly without being taught. Using Back Slam to adjust attack position slightly is a GREAT idea, Thanks.
