    Nitro slash is 1 amazing platform. They're a lot lighter then most trucks thier size because of the chassis being small and minimal. I run a mMIP 360 pipe out the back with a flipped stock header . Sounds amazing and keeps the fuel off the chassis completely. Its an OLD school pipe but still absolutely amazing.

    I own a nitro slash, things you can do to mitigate airplane mode with the stock body is lower the ride height in the front with some fuel line on the inside of the shock, and limit travel in the rear by adding file line to the exposed area of the shock shaft.
    Airplane mode aside, get metal shock caps, and get ST Racing Concepts hinge pins

  • @bentomeo7333
    @bentomeo7333 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Often when I do speed runs I take off the body as the air gets up under the body and flips it! But when the body is off it basically reduces it! I have the same car as yours and I can say I agree with all your points! Epic, Amazing vid as always

    • @rcreviews9894
      @rcreviews9894  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, yeah I thought about taking the body off but to me it’s kinda risky, I definitely don’t want to flip it with the body off, the slash will wheelie on command and I guess sometimes I get a little carried away lol, I might cut more holes in the body to get more air flow on those high speed passes, thanks again for watching 🤙🏎️💨💨💨

    Turn your pipe to like a 60 degree angle. One nitro is never enough. I started with nitro planes. Still have all those. Then it was a TMaxx classic in 2003. Then a Jato 3.3 in 2008 and a Nitro 4Tec. Took a break from RC to fly full scale aircraft but got back in and bought a Revo last year. Just restored my Jato from 2008. Video dropping soon on showing it off once I get a body for it.

    I got a nitro slash from my local hobby store and it’s the same color as yours. The first thing that I did was put on the shock spacers. I put the thickest ones on the rear even tho there is some that already come on it. And I put the less thicker ones on the front and it made the car higher. Also I put 2 body spacers on all four body mounts and that raised the body up a lot. It’s winter here in Northern Illinois so I will make sure the ending will start so warming it up with a heat gun and starting it up in the garage to make sure the engine will start and fire up. And I will break the engine in when it gets warmer outside.

    • @rcreviews9894
      @rcreviews9894  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice 👍 yeah I threw some shock spacers on mine too, you can also adjust the body posts by unscrewing those two screws and raising it up, be careful on high speed straight aways, the body catches wind and by raising it, it will catch wind even more, I already need a new body lol, I’m actually waiting for a part too 😩 the brake lever broke and everyone is out of stock it’s like a 2 dollar part

      @@rcreviews9894 lol... yeah better be sure. Seems like your having fun though. I still have the original tmaxx upgraded to a 3.3. Going to do a rebuild on the truck because I installed allot of aluminum on it and now I hate when people throw allot of aluminum on their RC'S lol. I'll never get rid of because it was a gift and one of my first rc's. had the nitro revo but I'm almost positive that I sold it or traded it don't remember. I have some other nitro's still here in my collection though. I don't hate them but when the motor decides to act up is when I just say the hell with it. Normally that isn't the case until the piston and sleeve have seen a bit of run time. Or when like in my case ohio, and probably doesn't apply to you, the weather changes damn near everyday from hot to cold in some months... then the tuning definitely begins to be more annoying than it's worth. But I could just be lazy and you really may end up enjoying doing that if it ever happens. I know people that do. Nothing is cooler than having that sound flying by though lol.

    I’m back with a question. When I first started my nitro slash the idle speed was high it was moving at a decent speed right out the box at idle. I was only testing out the engine because it is winter right now so I heated up the garage and the engine. So I looked at the manual and it said to turn the low speed needle and I did it and it no longer moved at idle. Is that ok? I’m not going to break it in for another month till it gets warmer. I’m just making sure if I should have done that. I could always put it back in the spring to how it was.

    • @rcreviews9894
      @rcreviews9894  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that low speed needle is set high to get it started for the first time, actually what I did with the slash, when I started it for the first time, is just hold the break so it didn’t go off on its own, carry it out to the street and let it idle around by itself just steering it around for the first tank, I didn’t apply any throttle, I just let it idle around, it has no compression because it’s a brand new engine, eventually it will idle down by itself after that first tank, you can richen that low speed needle a bit if you want to keep it idle in one spot if you want, it won’t hurt anything, just remember to make small adjustments so if you over do it, it will be easy to go back where you started, did you run all the gas out?

      @@rcreviews9894 yeah I’ll set it back to how it was in the spring just to be safe. I wanna make sure I do the break in properly. Oh yeah I took a syringe and sucked all the fuel out of the tank. And I also cranked the engine over to make sure all the fuel was out and it ran for a few sec and turned off.
