If you look closely, you'll notice that under his tattered duster and a layer of grime, the Ghoul is still wearing that same blue and yellow cowboy costume. It's especially noticeable if you look at his collar during his first scene after the initial flashback, where he's kneeling over the decapitated body.
The ghoul doesn't carry clean water, he's radiation immune
Most early TV cowboys didn't kill. It's where the whole silly notion of shooting a gun out of their hands comes from. Original lone ranger never killed.

LOVE the broken water chip moment, it is a callback to Fallout 1, it is why you leave the vault to find a new one.
I love how this series jumps back to the life of Cooper Howard, movie star, then back to The Ghoul as he is 200+ years later. Think of all the shit he has been through to get here. And how much that has changed him from the man of principles he once was.
Really interesting contrast how in the past, Cooper Howard is so disturbed at the idea of killing someone even when its fictional as part of a movie. Meanwhile in the present The Ghoul lives and breathes violence and casual cruelty.
200 years of nuclear wasteland changes a person, it seems. The actor Walton Goggins remarked in interviews he was essentially playing 2 different characters.

You should never apologize for jamming to Fallout music. I could listen to the same 10-12 songs on loop for 6 hours straight playing the games and still get excited every time when the next one starts and if you're with the boys everyone sings along.
The fallout games has exposed younger generations to A LOT of 1950s (and onward) classics and we absolutely love them. In the games you can listen to radio stations while exploring the wasteland, featuring charismatic radio hosts and they will play a lot of bangers lol. I believe every licensed song in the show has also been featured in the games
I'm so glad you're enjoying this show! In my opinion it's the most faithful video game to TV/film show we've ever had. It's an original story but all the lore, props, setting, etc is spot on. The show is considered officially canon now in the Fallout universe.
I've been a fan of the Fallout franchise for more than a decade. When I heard they were making a series about it, I was beyond ecstatic. I can't wait to see how they make all the mutates animals look. It's gonna be gross and scary, and I'm ALL for it! 😂❤️🤩

@@soundofnellody262 That's a excellent example. I actually never played The Witcher, but I watched the show. My brother played it and told me how wrong it all was. Such a shame. Henry Cavill was great as Geralt. 😔
@@TheJerseyDevil13th Yes, absolutely. Henry Cavill was the only bright spot in this show. I read all the books (many years ago before there were even witcher games) then played the games and re-read all the books to refresh my memory. When the announced the netflix show, I was very happy and excited. And the first season, if not perfect, let me at least hope they will get it right in the second season. And then the oposite happened :( Game-adaptations or book-adaptations are always a big risk. But at least Fallout made it good. Didn't watch The last of us yet, but I heard it is pretty good as well. But it re-tells the whole game story. That made it easier because they had already a good story. Fallout started a new, fresh story arc and introduced fans to new lore that is canon now. Like that Cooper was the original Fallout boy. I like that..
@@soundofnellody262 Yeah, it's great! You'll like The Last Of Us. I loved it! They made slight changes. While that's to be expected, I didn't dislike them! Some of them were for the better. I obviously won't give spoilers for you, but I really hope they change up the second season, too. If things look like they're going the way I DON'T want them to, I'm not watching it anymore. Don't test me, Naughty Dog! You will lose me as a big fan! 😤

So, rich superstar Cooper became a spokesperson for the vaults, pretty much gave them his signature pose.
And somehow we see him entertaining at childrens birthdays, vaulttech replaced him with a cartoon character (still us8ng his signature pose), and he obviously wasn't let into a vault when the bombs dropped and somewhere in between he got separated from his family.
No wonder he is a bit bitter.
Then, give him 200+ years to stew in it, and the ghoul becomes a bit more understandable.

That chainsaw is called a "ripper" in the game(s). But as slow as it is, I imagine it's more of a "puller" or "digger". Probably wouldn't result in a very clean cut. 😉
Actually, now that I think about it, maybe ripper is a good name after all. 😳
The reveal that Cooper Howard did promo for Vault-Tec and had originated the thumbs-up mascot was when it really hit me just how great the writing was for this show. F'n awesome! 😁👍

As a chainsaw operator it's always bugged me that the illustration of the ripper shows it with a bicycle chain instead of a chainsaw chain. It wouldn't cut anything, more like a massage device.
I made a comment last video about the music, dont worry about jamming out haha, i cant help but sing/hum along with most of these songs after hearing them in the games so much!

The song that plays at 3:13 is the Theme song of the original Fallout game from 1997.
I remember some of these songs from my childhood too! Some were songs my mom played from her younger days and some were on the air when I was a kid. I remember watching Buck Owens sing "Act Naturally" on "Hee Haw"! So don't apologize! You're not the only "older" person loving this series. 😉

The more episodes I saw, the more I loved the Ghoul's story. Now after watching it all, I am in awe of EVERYTHING.
small detail for fans of the games,.. when he does the thumbs up in the vault suit it is easy to believe that he is THE vaultboy bobble-head and poster inspiration, if not the actual vaultboy,..which is the iconic thumbs-up figure we see EVERYWHERE

For anyone who might not know the giant pink mutant that Maximus and Thaddeus fought are real life aquatic animals and they're called Axolotls
They're calling them gulpers in the show, but there's a loading screen in Fallout 4 that describes them as mutated salamanders (you encounter them in the Far Harbor DLC). Interesting that they did an axolotl version in the show and still called them gulpers. 🤔

No, that’s due to a TH-cam oddity. In their current state, intros and outros actually hurt videos.
