Vikings did it first. Most Africans back then could not have long hair because of lice. It was hot. The vikings came from the cold.

People have been braiding their hair across cultures for thousands of years. It is not some exclusively Black thing. It's never been an exclusively Black thing. Only ignorant people think so.

braids were worn by nordics thousands of years ago way before they knew black folks existed. but the whole argument of cultural appropriation is such BS. no one talks about the cultural appropriation by blacks of white created football, basketball and baseball. that would be silly just like other claims of appropriation. white things have been culturally appropriated more by non-whites more than any other race. and even if you are white, dressing and acting black, why is that not ok but men who pretend to be women are applauded. now yeah, if I am acting black to make fun of, not laugh with, a black dude, that would be wrong and I would never do that.

True. I knew Chinese woman who was professional hiphop dancer and allways said she was probably black in her past life because she has strong pull toward black culture over all. Did she try to own the culture, NO... she just wanted to relate to it and liked it. Same as when I felt strong pull toward India when I was younger, I even moved there for some years and felt at home in there. Most of my friends visited me once and never wanted to visit there again.
Did I try to own it or pretend Im Indian? Never. I allways appreciated my Nordic roots and felt Im Nordic. But while I was living there I tried to integrate and respect their ways and culture and learn from it as much as I could. And they accepted me because I showed interest and respect.
Same as we here in northern countries respect those foreigners who integrates and respect our culture if they move here. If not it creates conflicts.
But obviously learning from different cultures, respecting and liking things from other cultures, sharing is now also wrong according to wokeists.

It is also a little bit weird that they are all talking about cultural appropriation, and they all called people out for it, but the only person who actually feared doing it was the white lady .

Western culture has become a melting pot for all cultures to add to. You can't own culture, but you can exist in it. We got the blues, jazz, and rocknroll to show for what true multiculturalism can achieve, for example. There are endless examples. Yet, divided we fall...United, we break barriers and innovate to create a better place for all

That black professor dude is just wrong. The lady is correct. Wear what you want. The problem is people dont mind their own business. Its not a crime and shouldn't be. If you feel like dressing like a samurai one day because you love that culture then do it. Im tired of this humans vs humans. The point is we need to come together and share our cultures.

I have had locks 20 years and Im white. I took them before this nonsense woke thing started. If anything, black people have come to tell me that I have really nice hair. I have allways got only compliments for them. Thank god I dont live in America.
And Im not cutting my hair ever. I do with my hair what ever I like and some white hating woke person will not choose my hairstyle. Beside I never took them to relate to any culture but because as a traveller I wanted easy hairstyle which I dont need to cut, comp constantly and no need to go for hairdresser every 3 months either. Also because as a teenager I thought they look cool. Now they are kind of grown to be part of me. They have grown like that for years, even if I ofcourse cut them shorter occationally. I dont need to even maintain them anyways.
And I dont mind if black people straighten their hair or use jeans or eat pizza, pasta or burgers. Who am I to choose what other people do or dont. If some foreigner fancy something from my Nordic culture I share it with them.
I feel embarrashed to belong to the same race (alltho I dont belong because not all white people have same anchestors, same as Indian blacks are not same race as African blacks) with the purple coloured hair woman tho...but thank god she represents everything Im not even if she really try to make us all look stupid.

CULTURAL APPROPRIATION - Love this, so next time us white guys get shouted at I will just come back and say - You enjoy TV & Radios, Telephones Cars - and all the other Fast Foods and Pasta, and all the goodies that come from West - So if black guys want to keep the rights for dreed locks then the Europeans can take the rights for European goodies. Off course that's complete madness but you get the point - we can't live a life wondering if we are going to offend everybody all the time.

Just to add to this, Eminem, The Beastie Boys, any white rapper ever basically is usually championed by a black hiphop luminary (look at Dr. Dre and his relationship with Eminem or Russell Simmons and the Beasties) but when there's a few quid involved then it most certainly is not cultural appropriation but heaven forbid some non-mexican person wears a sombrero to a halloween party. Really everything is appropriated for something else. No-one should ever go to a Femi Kuti concert ever again UNLESS they are born-and-bred Nigerian. Riverdance? Sorry folks, if you're not Irish, an expert dancer and white you can't attend that show ever again. It's mental.

I find it slightly hypocritical when the black community wears a lot more wigs would that not be also appropriation it only seems offensive for other people . like him even wearing a suit is maybe considered appropriation maybe even wearing glasses that’s a vision having person appropriation.
