Excellent bowl Steve - a definite keeper! A brilliant conclusion to your year of woodturning - looking forward to seeing it full of fruit - or chocolates! 😉
Hi Steve... That is an absolute beast... rather you than me... Haha.. A lot of work but what a fantastic result... I haven't turned anything above half that size... well done... I hope that you and yours have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year... Take care my friend...All the best.....Andy
Hi Andy Thank you for the comments, I was going to give it to the farmer who gave me the wood but I'm really having second thoughts about it, I thought it was going to be just a quick project but it took me hours in the end. Have a happy Christmas and look forward to more of those great projects of yours in the new year take care my friend
Hi Clyde thanks for leaving the comment, I was pretty pleased with the out come of this, i didnt start out with this in mind but it sort of evolved as i was working on it
Thanks Brett, its not just all the saw dust over the floor its when it gets all over the benches as well, and my work tops are not that tidy to begin with. But im glad you enjoyed the process
Nice one Steve. The carving really set off the bowl - brilliant ! And the gold ? Perfect choice for the oak. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours🎅🎄 Take care. -Mike
Thanks Mike, i had made it originally for the farmer who gave me the wood, but I'm seriously having second thoughts about that. I do use Saber bits, and have quite a few different ones, but i have been looking around for alternative ones as they do seem to have gotten quite expensive lately
Thanks Chris, i was very pleased with this, it feels great in the hands, The Oak smells lovely in the work shop, the only problem was i forgot to wipe down the bed of my lathe and it stained it almost immediately.
Huge beautiful bowl Steve!!! Complimenti!!!👋👍👍
Thanks Mauro
Nice piece Steve. Thank you for sharing
Thanks Albert, I really wanted to give this back to the farmer who gave me the wood, but i cant bring myself to give it away

That's beautiful Steve, and huge!!! That would not fit on my lathe :) . What type of cutting bit did you use in the dremel?
Thanks Mike, i had made it originally for the farmer who gave me the wood, but I'm seriously having second thoughts about that. I do use Saber bits, and have quite a few different ones, but i have been looking around for alternative ones as they do seem to have gotten quite expensive lately
@@thehampshirewoodturner thanks Steve, I bought a kutzall bit a short while ago. If it's any good I'll let you know.
@@MikeHolton Please do, I have seen them advertised and have been thinking about buying one
